San Diego is in the dumps right now, 2 huge fires, been declared a state of emergency from what I've been hearing. 3 of my friends have lost their house, lucky for me the fire isn't going to get to my house most likely, but this **** is huge the sky is orange.

That sucks. We get pretty bad bushfires every summer here, but I'm right on the coast so I don't really get affected.

Yeah it's pretty bad, I can totally see the flames on some of the mountains right now, and it's pretty smokey smelling. But like I said, I highly doubt my part of town will get hit by the fire.

psh... just when I'm laying down to go to sleep, we get a phone call saying we might need to prepare for evacuation... I have so much **** if it comes down to mandatory evac, it's going to be a pain in the ***.

That sucks, Ken. But as someone who's been through possible mandatory evacuations before, I have two pieces of advice. One: Although it's cliché, it's true that your life is more important than anything else, and Two: If you have a basement or something, look into investing in some of those sturdy, 100L plastic boxes that you can store your stuff in and protect it, at least marginally.

Yep, I decided not to go. Today he is covering Classical Sonatas, and I just cant stand that bullshit. I wouldn't stay awake anyway.

I put in my application for LSU yesterday. I want to go there so bad, and I think it just might be possible.... somehow.

I honestly think going to LSU would be a mistake. You need your distance from Ashley, plus the cost is going be insane, especially with Dad going to Germany. If you go up to MSU with me, we can get an apartment, and the cost will be significantly less. We really won't be that far from Memphis either.

Distance really isn't an issue, considering 32,000 go there. It's insane how many dorm buildings there are. There are probably more dorm buildings there than there are buildings here period. Also, I know it would be a bit more expensive, but I really want to live in a place like that, especially considering that all of our family is leaving. I am also feeling pretty optimistic about scholarships, plus I can start doing tuition reimbursement with winn-dixie.

I think college is one of those things that you have to put the cost aside and do what you feel you need to do. Going to a school you're unhappy with is the worst decision you can make.

Yeah, everyone I know pushes me to go to a Uni or something and work really hard but it's not for me. Taking a few classes during the week at a tech school is all i'm interested in.

As far KoD and I are concerned we really don't have much of an option when it comes to money. Our dad makes enough that we don't qualify for financial aid, but we have two other brothers. So, he doesn't have the money to pay our way through school. he can help us, but we are ultimately responsible for our tuition and living expenses. If money wasn't problem I wouldn't suggest another option.
