To be honest, it went from discussion of elitism to people taking sides and bitching at each other. That kind of crap drags the community down as a whole.

It's not healthy discussion to have, especially when people are being bitchy with one another. It's not good for the forum as a whole.

Actually the conversation went from elitism to bitching at each other to Pat Methany and kelly Clarkson. It was actually semi-civil towards the end.

Look, I don't care for the Black Metal genre as much as the next shmuck, but getting on its fan's asses by asking if they think anybody takes them seriously isn't needed. I've never had a problem with any of them, really, because they haven't tried to cause problems for the forum, so I don't want any dissention going on that isn't needed. R&M doesn't need another bitchfit, or Dargon returning to pretend to troll, or whatever.

when i read the first post by ICB it was one of the best things i've read recently on MX. too many ppl thinks that when they listen to band x they are more true.. wow.
but afterwards it started to be a spamfest .. lol.

Thanks, man...I hoped it didn't suck. :p I didn't mean for the whole thing to become a flame-war...but it just gets under my skin how shallow, narrow-minded and ignorant some people could be. Maybe I was being ignorant as well, but oh well. I tried to contribute something to the forum, rather than spam. Looks like I failed.

In a nutshell, I pissed off mx.

At the time I felt that he didn't give a shi[font=verdana]t[/font] about the forums (because of the hackings and overall apathetic vibe at the time) and was becoming obsessed with expanding his Sputnikmusic empire.

So I swore like an idiot and said he should just shut down the forums if he's just going to let the hackers and other crappy stuff that went on continue without doing anything about it. I wrote a lot of questionable adjectives.

It wasn't pleasant or the smartest thing to do, but I was able to get Wintermute added as a co-admin, seeing as how DBJ doesn't do jack around here anymore. And then some other stuff.

I might be back if they need me, but for now, 'sources' tell me that there are still hurt feelings so I'm basically serving my probation and promising not to swear so much when I think he's not paying attention to the forums.

It's not like I need to anymore, though, because he's starting to take care of the forums for a bit since then.
