Weird choices for me so far today...

Earth - Hex: Or Printing in the Infernal Method
Sunn 0))) - Black One

Bartender 02-15-2006 11:24 AM

MC5 - Kick Out the Jams
Sleater Kinney - The Woods

Both slightly disappointing, in their own ways.

I've also been listening, and re-listening, and re-listening, to A Night on the Town With the Rat Pack. For a cheap, less than serious-looking release, it's so ridiculously good.

Egyptian Lover - On the Nile (funniest thing ever)

I thought you were staunch anti-metal?

Little Man being Erased 02-15-2006 02:28 PM

Pulp again.

Tangy zizzle 02-15-2006 02:31 PM

Pulp, Black Mountain, Dylan, Radiohead, Wilco... such good stuff Little Man.

Today (well all 1 hour that I've been awake) has so far been dedicated to the Dean Martin collection I found on my floor. Good.

Little Man being Erased 02-15-2006 02:37 PM

Thanks Tangy, I do like good stuff don't I.

asymm 02-15-2006 03:35 PM
I thought you were staunch anti-metal?
Haha, no no no. I'm definitely not against metal. I don't listen to it very often so it might've seemed that way. This droning stuff is barely metal anyway.
Pulp again.
Kurtz 02-15-2006 06:16 PM

Blur - Parklife

ert90 02-15-2006 06:18 PM

Hmm, first post . . .

I've been digging:

The Arcade Fire
Nick Drake
Iron & Wine
The Smiths
The Subways
Less Than Jake

Daniel! 02-15-2006 06:19 PM

I found a nifty mash-up type thing between the Beatles and the Beastie Boys that I'm enjoying. I probably won't listen to it more than one or two times though.

sketchyjoe 02-15-2006 06:21 PM

Phil Ochs

Particularly the albums I Ain't Marching Anymore and Tape From California

The Feelies - Crazy Rhythms -- Man, I love this album.

right now i'm listening to The Embarrassment - Heyday: 1979-1983 and it is GREAT. It's post punk that mixies the Feelies nervousness with the Replacements' kickassy...ness. Definitely worth checking out if your a fan of that 80's american underground sound.

Robert Crumb 02-15-2006 07:22 PM

My phone has been ringing all afternoon and I don't wanna answer it. So I've been drowning it out with the Kinks.

Happymeal 02-15-2006 07:25 PM

I've been playing Propagandhi, Jello Biafra and Melvins, and Streetlight Manifesto alllllll day.

Daniel! 02-15-2006 07:27 PM

Daniel Johnston - Retired Boxer

Gooood good good. This guy is ace. Be sure you get 1990 and Yip/Jump Music; my two personal favorites of his. I'm also anticipating the documentary.

I like it alot. I'm surprised about the negative feedback on it.

pixiesfanyo 02-15-2006 07:44 PM

Saul Williams has a way with words. I think everyone should check him out already.

Ornery Cephalopod 02-15-2006 08:00 PM

I've been addicted to putting on Blonde Redhead - Misery is a Butterfly before going beddie-bye lately.

I'm currently giving my first proper listen to the Pink Mountaintops at the moment. Dig.

And some other minor, partial-album digs of the recent past:

Yeti (yay, finally found some!)
Outkast - Aquemini
All Girl Summer Fun Band
Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus

Little Man being Erased 02-15-2006 08:02 PM

More Queens of the Stone Age. Now it's Songs for the Deaf.

asdf 02-15-2006 08:03 PM

Defiance, Ohio - Because I'm prepairing for the concert on friday
Sigur Ros - Because I'm prepairing for the concert on saturday
Estradasphere - Because I'm learning a song for my school's variety show.
Awesome. What song?
The Transformation for the album "It's understood"

I just hope it works out. The rest of the musicians I'm playing with aren't as dedicated to it as me. We've got 3 weeks until tryouts, and we haven't even praticed together yet.
