RE: Quick Reply box

Well....I guess that goes to show you something, but I can't quite put my finger on what at the moment.

PinkFreud 02-25-2006 05:38 PM

my favorite authors are kurt vonnegut, chuck palahniuk, and uh, stephen king. i don't know. other than those 3, i don't stick with particular authors. i just go for books that look interesting.

i only use the quick reply box.

i want a tattoo really badly but im too broke. i would get the gasmask from at the drive-in's alfaro vive, carajo! ep or something like an heart with XO inside of it for elliott smith. i don't really know though.

It's scary how much parts of this song reminded me of Meshuggah.

Local video game store that me and my friends all hung out at every day where a couple of friends have been working for years closed down today :upset:.

Do live near Allentown? I was just wondering because I'm listening to a Frank Zappa song and he said something about Allentown, and I'm pretty sure you said you live near Allentown.

Yeah, go through the woods next to my house and once you cross the street on the other side you're in Allentown.

Dee Brown and James Augustine played their last game at Assembly Hall tonight :(

I know none of you probably care but I did. I didn't even get to go there to start because of a paper but I got there near the end of the first half.

I can kinda feel for you, though video game stores and athletes are a bit different.

NP: Opeth, In The Mist She Was Standing

Love the acoustic part at 10:51, so good.

I sort of care. I'm more of a fan of Big East and A10 teams though.

I'm actually kind of surprised that you knew they were athletes. :o

Shattered_Future 02-25-2006 07:45 PM

All of my family is watching my Dark Tranquillity DVD...

Eh, I'm not complaining. My dad turned out to be somewhat of a fan of them after we saw them Friday night. Appreciates their tightness together and the stuff they do on guitar.

I don't like sports, but that doesn't mean my other six siblings don't either.

To Shattered_Future: I wish my family liked Dark Tranquillity, my mom just says their guitar reminds her of classical music.

Deconstruction 02-25-2006 07:49 PM

Anyone here ever heard of The Scabs, Ugly Americans, Joe Rockhead or Bob Schneider?

i am the robots 02-25-2006 07:52 PM

Nope, never heard a single one, sound like rockabilly to me for some reason though...

Illmatic 02-25-2006 07:54 PM

Bob Schneider? Wasn't he the guy from Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo?

Deconstruction 02-25-2006 07:57 PM
Bob Schneider? Wasn't he the guy from Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo?
Rob Schneider...Bob Schneider is very different, he is a sing/song writer/Guitar player.

Illmatic 02-25-2006 08:03 PM

I don't know who Bob Schneider was, but I was just kidding around.
Anyone in the UK, put on Channel 4 now.
Whats on?

/dosnt live in uk.

So I just got back from a highschool play. They did grease(this is my second time seeing it) and it was awsome.

And I got Arch Enemy's Anthems of Rebellion :) Gotta love the song "We Will Rise"

NP- Arch Enemy- Dead Eyes See No Future

Shattered_Future 02-25-2006 09:17 PM

Methinks either Silent Wars or DESNF are the best tracks on that album.

Only thing cuter than a kitten is a plush Clthuthu. Or some spelling like that.

Goodnight MX.

Shattered_Future 02-25-2006 09:21 PM

Gnite squirrel friend.

Woot, today is Saturday. Which means 2 hours of Stargate on UPN starting at 11. Oh right.

Np- Rattlehead

Steerpike 02-25-2006 10:23 PM

I managed to get my dad into Nightwish, so I count that as a small victory for metal.

Anyway, it's been a pretty cool day. My speakers died yesterday, but I picked up an even better pair at Target today. The tone is so much cleaner. The bassline is much clearer too.

Also, while I was out I picked up a documentary on the Third Reich's fascination with and investigation into the occult along with An American Werewolf in London, both on DVD of course.

And since Borders was having a sale, I got 5 books for like 20 bucks. A couple of them were normally priced about $10, and one was originally $15.

While I was out I had enough spare cash on me to pick up a brownie from Mrs. Fields and a bubble tea.

So yeah, pretty cool day.

i am the robots 02-25-2006 10:30 PM

My best was getting my dad into Behemoth.

My favourite author's are David Eddings, Douglas Adams, Raymond E. Fiest, Terry Pratchet, Monty Python boys, Matthew Reilly and Tolkien.

Oh, and the great Robert Winston, of course.

Good taste. My favorites would be H.P. Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, Robert Jordan, and Agatha Christie.

Shattered_Future 02-25-2006 10:59 PM

I had to read Fahrenheit 451 for a research project in 9th grade. I managed to do my whole paper (and get a 97 on it) using only a few criticisms and the first third of the book. I really could not get into it.

Steerpike 02-25-2006 11:15 PM

A better book is Something Wicked This Way Comes. Really spooky.

jpj 02-25-2006 11:41 PM

That book confused the hell out of me. I liked it though. Do you know if the movie is any good?

I read a short story by Bradbury from my Literature book called The Pedestrian. It was pretty good too.

Steerpike 02-25-2006 11:52 PM

I also really like his short story "The Dragon Flies at Midnight." It's on the One More for the Road anthology.

Riva 02-26-2006 12:56 AM

Well, this is a year late, I know, but I just watched Revenge of the Sith all the way through.

I expected torture, but not to this degree. I mean, in one scene, before Anakin is even evil, Palpatine says to him, "The Jedi don't trust me", and then goes on to say "They want to take control of the Republic. They are evil. They can't be trusted." in the next fucking sentence.

I mean, he watches placidly as Palpatine fries Windu, then laments for less than a minute before treating the Emperor like an old friend. I can only assmue that Lucas thought a minute was a long period of remorse, since he only felt guilty for the 30 seconds between the release of this piece of shit and the money rolling in.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-26-2006 12:59 AM

omg!

I just watched that movie the whole way through too :O

I liked it :(

But I'm very easy to please when it comes to Star Wars.

Steerpike 02-26-2006 12:59 AM

You have to admit, it was better than Episode 1. Maybe it's just the relativity. Aside from Christenson and Portman magically losing their ability to act while in the same scene, it was a good popcorn flick at the very least.

Apocalyptic Raids 02-26-2006 01:00 AM

It was easily the best of the prequels.

Even though I enjoyed the movie, this is hilarious:

Riva 02-26-2006 02:38 AM

Yes, I know the Wookies were shoehorned in and ultimately had no real part to play, but gosh darn they're cool.
