Soft Machine - Third

Interstate 07-18-2006 12:07 PM

John Lee Hooker - Live At The Cafe Au Go-Go
Edgar Allen Floe - This boy knows how to rip. I'm really considering getting his album based on the strength of the 2 songs I've heard from it.

asymm 07-18-2006 12:54 PM

The Kinks - The Village Green Preservation Society

Interstate 07-18-2006 01:29 PM

Hanoi Rocks - Two Steps From The Move

This gets better with every listen. Even if it is glam rock.

Little Man being Erased 07-18-2006 02:02 PM

Outkast - Stankonia

"B.O.B." is such an awesome track.

Robert Crumb 07-18-2006 02:20 PM
Actually, Horses is fucking amazing, Tony.
I read this is as, "Actually, Horse fucking is amazing."

Listening to Tim Maia right now, though he probably won't make the cut for my top 75-84. Glad you're digging Africa Brasil, Nacho. I know DogintheSand mentioned he likes it, too. Jorge Ben cult.

Interstate 07-18-2006 02:30 PM

Kanye West - Late Registratiom
Spank Rock - Yoyoyoyoyo
You know it's good.

JonM 07-18-2006 02:40 PM

I'm digging Jaco Pastorius's self-titled record.

Robert Crumb 07-18-2006 02:49 PM
Africa Brasil is gonna make my list big time.
Now we've got to convince all these other suckas.

Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
Elefant - Sunlight Makes Me Paranoid
The Hush Sound

Little Man being Erased 07-18-2006 07:43 PM
Yeah you guys should really all check it out, it pretty much hooked me immediately. It's catchy, it's upbeat, what else could you want.
You guys certainly have me intrigued. I'll download a few tracks from it and we'll go from there.
indeed it is...you should listen to Aquemini..."Skew it on the Bar-B" is the best Outkast song in my opinion
Little Man being Erased 07-18-2006 08:52 PM

Alright, I'll be checking out Aquemini first then.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 07-18-2006 09:35 PM

Against Miik! 07-18-2006 09:50 PM

The Format. The new album is excellent. Also Modest Mouse. Previous to a few days ago, I had only heard there latest album. But I downloaded This Is A Long Drive for Someone With Nothing To Think About, and the Moon and Antarica...both on recomendations, and I love both of them.

Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do

This stupid album finally arrived in the mail (I ordered it 21 days ago). Hopefully it's worth the wait. It sounds terrific so far...

Little Man being Erased 07-18-2006 11:43 PM

Yeah, Lamb are the goods. "Gorecki" is especially awesome.

br3ad_man 07-19-2006 01:24 AM

Yeah. I remember Tapey got me into Lamb like two years ago. Good times.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 07-19-2006 05:14 AM

steve roden.
some of the most delightfully ****ing pretentious **** i've ever heard

Minus The Flair 07-19-2006 05:49 AM

Pedro The Lion - Control

Amazing that I only recently started listening to this album and realizing how amazing it is

ATM 07-19-2006 06:31 AM

Minus the Bear - discography

A buddy of mine told me these guys arent that great, but im glad I finally checked them out for myself. Good summer music.

Also, that Girl Talk album is so tits, its practically the cover of Jugs magazine. My music nerd side really comes out when I play it and pick out all the different parts.

It's definitely worth the wait. It's kind of hard to get into but it still kicks ***.

The Violent Femmes - s/t

I always forgot how good this album really is.

ATM 07-19-2006 06:39 AM

Yea, that's one of the few Aphex Twin albums I have and I really like it.

sketchyjoe 07-19-2006 07:10 AM

Elvis Costello - My Aim is True
The Replacements - Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash
Sado-Nation - We're Not Equal

Inspired by the 75-84 albums thread.

JonM 07-19-2006 08:37 AM

I just imported my second Trojan box set, and I want to get more. They are wonderful. There's no better way to dig deeper into Jamaican music. I have Dub Rarities and Ganja Reggae, and I'm thinking about getting Rocksteady next.

Anxious 07-19-2006 08:43 AM

Early Pink Floyd, Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Saucerful of Secrets

Trippy stuff.

JonM 07-19-2006 08:47 AM

Dude I just watched the Live At Pompeii DVD last night, and it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. It's post-Syd, but it's pre-Dark Side. Check it out.

Anxious 07-19-2006 09:06 AM

I'll see if I can torrent it, sounds good.

ATM 07-19-2006 09:47 AM

Yea Live at Pompeii is cool.

I grabbed a copy of Jorge Ben - Africa Brasil after all the talk about it, and its solid as hell.

I like Judas Priest better than Iron Maiden.

Painkiller > 99% of other metal songs of all time.
