Yeah I love Mule, but not as much as the Allman Bros. which fit perfectly in this classic rock thread...any fans of them here (semi-redundant question)?
I like all of their stuff, Haynes and Derek Trucks only got me into them more. My favorite stuff though is all of the Duane stuff.
Awesome :thumb:. This thread actually doubles as part classic rock and part jam discussion. Badmoon's going to like this guy ;) Yays to The Grateful Dead, Phish, WideSpread Panic, Gov't mule, The Allman Brothers and others. I 'm a bit of a jam band newbie :( |
:thumb: Nice taste.
Rock, sign on Aim. I have two samples I want to give out. |
Im getting 50$ worth of CDs what should I get? Im thinking Neil Young's Harvest. (so far)
|
Some Harrison definetly.
|
It's good to see magicbus likes Deja Vu.
Schyma00, get Harvest or After The Goldrush. And I just got Blonde On Blonde. |
After reading like 15 pages the only thing I feel like replying to is that how Schyma000 out Morrison Hotel as their fifth best album.
This leaves me in bitter outrage ---- |
Does Clapton's solo career irritate anyone else?
He just kind of put it on autopilot and floated through it...there's no passion. |
Im trying to get All Things Must pass.
|
Does Clapton's solo career irritate anyone else?
He just kind of put it on autopilot and floated through it...there's no passion.
That's actually a very good way to describe it, and I dont really listen to his solo career that much for that very reason. |
Some Harrison definetly.
"All things must pass" is a classic for all time. And a great "Jam" finish. |
Does Clapton's solo career irritate anyone else?
He just kind of put it on autopilot and floated through it...there's no passion.
Yea, his solo career leaves a lot to ask for. Whenever a Cream song comes on he says "Yep, this was before Clapton turned gay." I always thought that was funny. |
Does Clapton's solo career irritate anyone else?
Does Clapton's solo career irritate anyone else?
He just kind of put it on autopilot and floated through it...there's no passion.
Eh, kinda. He sure does play a lot of Cream, Derek and The Dominos and Blind Faith stuff live. Tears In Heaven, Cocaine and Hey Hey are kewl songs. |
Does Clapton's solo career irritate anyone else?
After reading like 15 pages the only thing I feel like replying to is that how Schyma000 out Morrison Hotel as their fifth best album.
This leaves me in bitter outrage ----
Well it didn't have as many good songs as the others did. Still I love though. I love all Doors albums! |
Im trying to get All Things Must pass.
If you like ATMP then I suggest the 1979 self title :thumb: And yeah Clapton's 80's solo career was sub-par...I like his CD chronicles, he's older but the songs are still good, but I'm not sure what year most of those songs are from. |
Unplugged is pretty good.
No passion.........his son died.........still no passion?
What about the 22 years between the time Derek and the Dominos broke up and when his son died? All tired, mediocre blues-rock. |

I got Blonde On Blonde, comment.

Nice :thumb:. One of Dylan's best. |
Nice :thumb:. One of Dylan's best.
Yeah, it's great and all, but I really miss the rich organs that Highway 61 Revisited had :upset: |
I don't like any of the songs on that album up to "Hard Days Night"
Were they started writing about stuff other than 'wanting to hold someones hand# but being scared to ask, looking back on it, those songs were pretty gay.
don't be ignorant young man! those are still top notch pop songs! the lyrics may be simple, but the melodies were astonishing. i used to feel the same away about the beatles as you did. i found the early pop stuff to be lame and the old stuff to be weird. but then i realized how delightful their early stuff was, and eventually i was turned on to their older stuff. even now, i prefer the latter material, and i think i always will. but i still love the early stuff! it's almost like a different band. like i said before, their early stuff is still top notch! |
this thread rules. everything else on this board makes me vomit.
|
I got Blonde On Blonde, comment.
Yea, I recently heard Harrison doing Absolutely Sweet Marie. :thumb: |
The thing that annoyed me the most about Clapton's solo career was that he left the Yardbirds because they were getting "Too Poppy", but then he went on to release I Shot the Sheriff and other things like that.
Oh, I finally got The Who Sings My Generation on CD. |
Yeah, it's great and all, but I really miss the rich organs that Highway 61 Revisited had :upset:
Does anyone agree with this? |
I like Highway 61 more than Blonde on Blonde.
|

That's pretty much what I meant.
Oh, I finally got The Who Sings My Generation on CD.
About damn time. And does that "Shoot the duck and win a free Nintendo DS" ad piss anyone else off? I'm trying to listen to music and that ****ing laughing dog cuts in. |
I love them both.
|
Yes, I now hate Duck Hunt with a passion.
|
this thread rules. everything else on this board makes me vomit.
eh, yeah. There's not much else to the rock and metal board than this thread. I agree with the comment about the organs on Highway 61 ;) |
Blonde on Blonde is better though. IMO
|
Blonde on Blonde is better though. IMO
I dont think so IMO. |
No need, have it, love it. Maybe Ill get Cloud Nine aswell.
Cloud 9 has 3 good songs on it, don't get it. Everyone (and they are correct in thinking this) thinks th ealbum is good because Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne are on it but they are wrong :( It's a disappointment |
About damn time.
Yea I know, I've had it on vinyl and I've been meaning to get it for about a year. |
Yes, I now hate Duck Hunt with a passion.
Me too.  |
Really, it has good reveiws.
:\ It's not that good IMO, I'll put it this way- it is absolutely nothing like his earlier solo stuff. If you like the 80's sounding stuff like Traveling Wilburys and all of the Jeff Lynne produced albums in late 80s early 90s then you'd like it I guess. |
