Hopefully you guys can help me with this: Recently I got far more Iron Maiden than I can deal with from some mp3 cds. I like them, but not to the extent that I want 17 hours of them. So, what 20 or 25 songs would you reccomend I keep in iTunes, to start me off? I'll keep the rest somewhere where every third song I listen to on random isn't Iron Maiden, until I'm ready to own every album they've ever released.
Also which of their live albums is best, I may aswell keep one of those too.

if you want us to tell you the 25 best songs your going to end up with every song they've wrote.:p

as for live albums i'd say Live After Death is their best.

crag 10-19-2005 03:45 PM

i thought the Nicko one was pretty close

the_uber_penguin 10-19-2005 04:30 PM

Nah. Nicko has too much of a hairline.

The Adrian pic was scarily close, however.

And I want to marry the Dave picture.

the_uber_penguin 10-19-2005 05:08 PM

Crag, we've been through all this before. Remember just after Reading I said I wanted to put Dave in my pocket and take him home with me?

Something sick and twisted to do with penguins also came up.

Come on, isn't Dave cute? Isn't he the one who's most likely to be a teddy bear in disguise?

EDIT:
/Takes over-dramatic, Monty Python-esque step to stand right next to Crag again./

Speaking of Monty Python, the most surreal thing at Reading Festival: just after Iron Maiden left the stage, "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" come on over the P.A. There's something very strange about lots of metellers singing along to that.

They always play that at the end of every gig...didn't you know this?

the_uber_penguin 10-20-2005 02:43 AM

I didn't know that, but it explains a lot.

(I've only seen them once)
Of all the songs they had on Dance Of Death, which song would you say they should 'bring forward'? eg Brave New World looks like its the only song from BNW that will be played at every concert they do from now on. I reckon Journeyman. Paschendale's a better song but as those of you who saw them play Journeyman live will agree, that song is awesome when played live.
i think rainmaker will be played alot....but yah mostly journeyman
