Spectrum of Death is in my top 10 thrash albums. It's awesome.

FatalEnergy 04-08-2008 08:22 PM

Rocking out to some early Necrodeath.

Underrated band.

south_of_heaven 11 04-08-2008 08:29 PM

Necrodeath is good. What album?

FatalEnergy 04-08-2008 08:33 PM

Fragments of Insanity

south_of_heaven 11 04-08-2008 08:37 PM

Nice. I heard some of their newer stuff awhile back (from their latest album...Draceula or something)...really bad tbh.

FatalEnergy 04-08-2008 08:38 PM

Yeah, it's ****.

The only ones that are any good are the first two.

The first one especially

south_of_heaven 11 04-08-2008 08:39 PM

I've heard that Master of All Evil is actually supposed to be good but I never got around to listening to it.

All I have is Fragments of Insanity so I'm good for now I guess.

FatalEnergy 04-08-2008 08:42 PM

Mater of All Evil is okay. It doesn't match up to the first though. I suppose it's worth hearing.

Malfeitor 04-09-2008 02:32 AM

that Ghostrider demo is elite. so is Into The Macabre. thats all ive heard

FatalEnergy 04-09-2008 02:42 AM

Into the Macabre is by far the best.

I scored that **** in a used cd bin for $3 too.

south_of_heaven 11 04-09-2008 06:25 PM

Anyone else excited for the new Torture Squad album?

Solitary 04-11-2008 02:19 PM

I've just ordered Mental Vortex from Coroner and I'm expecting something great with this one...

Anyone own Grin? I can't decide whether this is worth picking up or not...

Stormrider 04-11-2008 02:22 PM
Anyone else excited for the new Torture Squad album?
I still really need to check out Pandemonium.

FatalEnergy 04-11-2008 04:03 PM

It's definitely worth hearing. Maybe the few albums before that too.
The first album is pretty weak. I wrote review of it on M-A.

south_of_heaven 11 04-11-2008 05:03 PM

I heard "Choas Corporation" and "Beast Within" the other day, and both are really good. Less death metal influence. Both are included on TS's new album...

Aakon_Keetreh 04-11-2008 05:35 PM

is the new kreator good?

ATM 04-11-2008 05:49 PM

I get to see Municipal Waste :D

Eliminator 04-11-2008 05:49 PM

**** off

RetiredAt21 04-11-2008 07:47 PM

I'd like to see Municipal Waste with Crucial Unit and Victimizer.

south_of_heaven 11 04-11-2008 08:00 PM

That would be a ****ing crazy show.

RetiredAt21 04-11-2008 08:00 PM

**** yeah it would.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-11-2008 08:51 PM
is the new kreator good?
they don't even have anything new.

south_of_heaven 11 04-11-2008 08:58 PM

They will in '09
No compromise but sheer thrash metal brutality!
except melodic death parts rite mille

Coroner you mean? I've got the first three albums. RIP isn't as good as the stuff they did later - hadn't found their sound quite yet, and out of those three I've got I prefer Punishment for Decadence best, but it's the way they've progressed over the albums that gives me high hopes for Mental Vortex. It arrived today along with some Mortal Sin so I'll give it a good listen later today...

Obsequies 04-16-2008 08:52 PM

Mental Vortex is pretty good but definitely not the best Coroner album. Punishment for Decadence is probably their best.

On the whole I would say thrash is my second favorite genre, behind death metal. I still think Slayer in their prime were better than just about any other metal band ever.

ninjamonkey 04-16-2008 09:05 PM

Dekapitator is awesome imo
And Protected Illusion.

What do people think of Warbringer?

Obsequies 04-16-2008 09:09 PM

Yeah Protected Illusion is great. Warbringer, on the other hand, is garbage.

RetiredAt21 04-16-2008 10:07 PM

Yeah Warbringer sucks.

Solitary 04-17-2008 01:13 AM

Agreed

south_of_heaven 11 04-17-2008 06:22 AM

Meh, I like Warbringer. Again, I'm a sucker for new thrash so my opinion on these kind of bands is biased.

FatalEnergy 04-17-2008 12:16 PM

Man, new thrash is horrible. Most of it just sounds like Overkill or Nuclear Assault riffs gone lame.

RetiredAt21 04-17-2008 12:20 PM

Does anyone like Asschapel?

Solitary 04-17-2008 01:01 PM
Man, new thrash is horrible. Most of it just sounds like Overkill or Nuclear Assault riffs gone lame.
same can be said for all of metal.

Eliminator 04-17-2008 01:03 PM

yesterday i was listening to possessed and i was like hey theyre ripping off nuclear assault what a bunch of faggots

mfb 04-17-2008 01:26 PM

Anybody have that Thrash Invasion compilation CD that came with the new Metal Hammer (CoB on the cover)?

It got me back into Exodus. :) It was my first time hearing Evile too. They're not half bad.

I still can't get into Municipal Waste though...

Eliminator 04-17-2008 01:26 PM

looks like you touch little boys then

mfb 04-17-2008 01:31 PM

Ah yes, that must be it.

Tyr 04-17-2008 02:35 PM

Municipal Waste!!!

FatalEnergy 04-17-2008 03:16 PM

Municipal Waste is actually worth listening to. Ghoul isn't bad either, but it's not easy to find a thrash band that plays with much conviction these days. It's bullshit.
