/reads all posts I missed.

One thing I have to say:

Alex ist da sexy man!

Seriously dude, you look awesome.
Now if only women would say that to me...

Riva 06-13-2005 01:27 AM

Haha, you look like an awesome drinking buddy. Anyways, I have dinner tonight, plus an exam tomorrow that I have to study for, and various other jobs. So, MNM may be delayed once again. On a lighter note... I earned 130 dollars for 4 hours work today. :)

Steerpike 06-13-2005 01:30 AM

Awesome.

As for drinking, I'd be the designated driver. Don't trust Slavs with alcohol. :p

By the way, I've got the candidates for next week's spotlight up in the Celtic Frost thread. Take a look.

The funny thing is, I am usually designated Dave anyway, simply because I like being in control when I am out in town, etc. I can also drink most people under the table, which means getting drunk is an expensive hobby for me.

Steerpike 06-13-2005 01:46 AM

Being Slavic is a little different. We love our alcohol, but we can't hold it. In our hands, everything is an addictive substance.

Greetings Riva, greetings Steerpike.

Everyone else - keep the spam down.

Ugh, dear God. I think I'm just gonna ask the professor for a zero and do it again in August for grammar. I just didn't start in time. I'm just gonna do the phonetics exam and the reading test.

 I posted a banning GAME suggestion in the mod forum and all those guys just go around and do random bannings, those faggots stole my idea and fagged it up! Ah well.

This thread got a little :emo: during my absence.
Steerpike: I'm also the long haired weirdo everywhere, I'm still an outsider, but at least there was 1 girl that enjoyed my weirdness, maybe you'll be as lucky as I was.

Shut it, you long haired, weirdo outsider.

/me eats waffles...

So... my friend sent me a letter in English with French subtitles. What a show-off.

I thought it was going to be a serious devil until the arms popped up.

So how is everyone? Im great because it turns out even though the bass drum fucked up, we went down really well and we have a slot at a bigger venue next week. We are also getting interviewed for this music site then.

ArcLite 06-13-2005 07:56 AM

Good deal. I'm (not) enjoying my first day of work on day-shift. I need my nights back. Other than that, trying desperately to finish my prog song for the competition. I'm working on all my breaks I get and still will probably have to turn it in unfinished. I guess it's better turned in almost done than not at all.

Jom 06-13-2005 08:14 AM

I went to bed at 9:30 last night. I was basically pissed/annoyed/infuriated/tired as hell.

Plus, I had another doubleheader yesterday, and I caught every inning, and I was basically hauling ass afterwards.

I look to see this morning how the Pistons did... yeah, they got smoked again. Good thing I didn't go to Palace Vision. Actually, it probably wouldn't have been particularly fun to begin with since I was pissed/annoyed/infuriated/tired as hell.
/something about how he works a lot and all his former friends have abandoned him since he's been home
Heh, that happened to me at university. Those friends went to the same university as me, and just magically stopped talking. I don't care, though.

I'm still deciding what I want to do after school, anyway.

I decided awhile ago that I don't want to go to high school reunions because everyone at my high school was basically a joke, and I don't need to attend some social function ten years down the road to see how far those people have fallen.

I also don't want to stay in this state since I don't want to run into any of those people ever again.

Meh, whatever. Time for work. Good morning/afternoon/early evening.

I like your views on life, moral is - seldom is there anybody who actually means anything at a High School... most teenagers are fags.

munky_magik 06-13-2005 09:00 AM

You people obviously had sucky high schools.

Jom 06-13-2005 09:03 AM

The high school wasn't the issue at all. It was the people in it :)

I forgot that I don't have to open, but I have AM shift.
I am unwilling to put forth nearly the amount effort you do to dislike people.
It's not that hard to send a message to people.

Long story person: Hey, you want to go to Palace Vision tonight?
Me: No, but thanks for the offer.
Long story person: Why not?
Me: Bye. *click*
I like your views on life, moral is - seldom is there anybody who actually means anything at a High School... most teenagers are fags.
I wasn't a jerk to everyone. It's just that I didn't elect to make any effort to go up to random people and be like, "Hello, my name is Jom." And when people came up to me and talked to me, I would hold conversation, but when it got to be too long for my liking, I would just say I have to leave and do so.

Anyway, adios for now.

ArcLite 06-13-2005 09:03 AM

No kidding. My highschool buddies still remain my best friends. Our whole class was pretty tight with each other. Not a lot of "cliqueing" many others. No matter who came no one would ever say "what is he doing here?" at a party.

Arucard 06-13-2005 09:12 AM
You people obviously had sucky high schools.
I agree, my high school rules, i know alot of people in my year and I get about 60 regulars to my parties of backgrounds. We get stoners, trendies and then the big majority of indie kids.

I also agree with Dancin', you seem to go to a large effort to dislike people.

i am the robots 06-13-2005 09:20 AM

I'm talking to a friend on the phone that I haven't spoke to in like three years.

Arucard 06-13-2005 09:42 AM

I bet your having fun. Care to elaborate?
I bet your having fun. Care to elaborate?
fonesecks :naughty:

Actually, we basically had a discussion on hanging out this summer when he comes to visit, we then talked about how ridiculous Black Metal kids are, then his dad yelled at him for wasting his money on long distance phone calls.

Anyway, good morning. :)

Hey, Lucas. I'm too lazy to read through the thread and find out, but did you do a song for the prog comp?

ATTN: Joe:

Cain 06-13-2005 10:25 AM
Hey, Lucas. I'm too lazy to read through the thread and find out, but did you do a song for the prog comp?
No, unfortunately. My technical proficiency isn't high enough in the first place, and second a lot of my creative energy was spent on the Melodeath comp. But I've got a prog-tinged 20-minute song waiting in the wings for the power metal contest, whenever that comes around, so I'm all right about it. My last song had an Opeth tinge to it anyway, and I didn't want to write another one in that vein for prog metal.

ArcLite 06-13-2005 10:31 AM

Heh, well if your technicallity isn't good enough, I shouldn't have even bothered making a song. I'm trying to get it done by tonight. It's kind of cool sounding but isn't progressive or technical enough to win. I'll still enter it though. I await with great anticipation to hear your 20 minute opus.

i am the robots 06-13-2005 10:35 AM

What I kind of mean by that is skill at incorporating odd-time riffs. I can make a few that sound good, but by no means am I skilled enough at it to make a truly badass groove out of an odd-time thing. Like DT's The Glass Prison: the breakdown riff is a 12/8 guitar riff while the drums blast a beat in 3/4, and it's pure sickness. But I just can't think of cool stuff like that yet.

The 20 minute opus is pure power metal, but more serious power metal, like Nightwish, and there's a lot of prog in it as well. It's based on Lord of the Rings (I wrote a prog-metal soundtrack to the books for my senior project), and technically it's the "Fellowship of the Ring Overture." I'm doing MIDI orchestration and synth parts, which isn't a big deal since synths are MIDI anyway. I would really like to get ahold of a good sampling program though so that I can load it up with .wav files of Drumkit from Hell and have it play my drum MIDIs and have it sound good. But if I can't, we'll just have to deal with slightly fake-sounding drums again. :-/ meh. I'm excited anyway. :)
