Sounds like it could have been really good or a total disaster. Don't worry, you don't need musical ability to make good music, it just helps.
It was just so-so. I enjoyed seeing everyone that I dont get to see that often, but I've just been having an off week, so I needed/would have liked to have to have an amazing time, which didnt quite happen. I think I do have some musical talent, but I'm just too lazy to play everyday and improve. I am working on a post-rock style project though, which will probably give the me motivation to play alot again. |
Love All The People.
There was a cheaper one on sale too, but that was about twice the size. (In HMV, by the way).
I haven't read that one. Is that the one with all the letters in it and a foreword by John Cleese? Let me know what it's like. Cynthia True's (American Scream, I think it's called?) is good. She did a fair bit of research for it, talked to a lot of his friends and so on, so it's full of great little anecdotes here and there. |

It's got John Cleese on the cover, but it's just a snippet saying how much he loved Hicks. There's also snippets from Bill Bailey and Tom Waits. How cool is that?!? But yes, it's filled with letters and excerpts from his routines, from what I can tell by skimming. I've only really read the foreword, which is by John Lahr. That name means nothing to me though. He wrote a New Yorker profile on Hicks once, apparently, and was a pretty good friend of his. |

What for?
Top 100 Hard Rock Bands They are 80 I believe. |
Top 100 Hard Rock Bands
They are 80 I believe.
Yeah I remember that show. It's from like 2000 though. Tool is on it at like 92, but this is before they released Lateralus so I was surprised that mainstream music had still cared about them at that time. also spoilers ahead Led Zeppelin wins |
Not really a spoiler, is it?

You know what sucks?
Booze. I'm giving up drinking and starting back on something scene, like smack or valiums or some shit. Fuck.. |

Yeah fair enough. Can't be bothered playing everyday? 'Aint that the truth :p I also have a post-rock band with two other dudes, though we've been pretty lazy and all we have so far is a mess of ideas. We're going to up until all hours of the night tomorrow recording though, so that's cool. |

Probably. |

Yeah, there are going to days when you'll just need a drink or two because it's a way to relax. Well, it helps unwind me anyway. |
Niether of my parents drink, but the day I turn 18 I'm going to have a beer. And probably a few more after that day.
|
Drinking is fun.
|
Before what he's in now, all of my dad's business ventures revolved around pubs (from owning/running them, to stocking cigarette machines in them), so I'm not really surprised both of my parents drink. I think I'm more surprised that, given this history, they don't drink excessively.
|
My dad was quite a heavy drinker, but he recently cut back quite a lot. My mum drinks as well, but not excessively at all.
|
My Dad signed something when he was 10 to say that he wouldn't drink, so he doesn't. My Mum gets migraines pretty easily and alcohol gives her nasty hangovers, even if it's half a glass of wine.
Hey Little Man, you know what's funny? Fortitude Valley. My mum was telling me how it's so bad and like the worst place on earth and everything. So I went there on Friday and I was like "WTF?!?!?!". It looks just like any other place. |
I don't drink, no I'm not sxe I just don't like the taste.

I feel safer in the Valley than I do in the City late at night anyway. |
I binge drink.
It's the English way. |
