I want one of those Exodus 'Slay-team' shirts.

Yeah, those look pretty cool.

Torture Squad are a great thrash band.

RCA 10-08-2005 11:02 PM
Torture Squad are a great thrash band.
Correct.

Phantasm are great too. It's so damn heavy; the guitar tone is thick, and the vocals (dunno if they're real or not) are definitely something to behold. Cool riff style too.

EDIT: Forgot to add that Phantasm is a death metal band, though the thrash Phantasm is decent.

Pandemonium wins.

Anybody want to jump on this Mailing List bandwagon?

playguitar 10-08-2005 11:25 PM

What'd you think of Exodus having only one original member from the Bonded By Blood era? How can you change so many creative inputs and still have it sound like Exodus? Pretty soon even Gary will be gone...

I was the first one on that bandwagon, which was started by Neurotoxin, with my Extreme Metal Mail.

:unmatched coolness:

If you want to start a thrash one, I can help you out with some uploads.

When Gary goes, Exodus will go.

Gary was always main creative force anyway. Tempo Of The Damned was 100% Gary (besides Impaler), and same with Shovel Headed Kill Machine.

EDIT: Freezing Moon (Tyler isn't it? ;) ), I thought I had double posted there for a second!

Do you even know who's in Exodus right now? There're plenty of creative minds in the band.

Yep, that's me. :)

There has to be since they made something as good as Shovel Headed Kill Machine.

I listened to it at least twice in a row last night, probably three or four times. :D

NP: Exciter - Heavy Metal Maniac

Apocalyptic Raids 10-08-2005 11:45 PM

I don't think anyone else besides Gary contributed song-writing wise, because Lee had just joined when they went into the studio.

Tyler, they call me Jon ;)

I actually saw a setlist from one of their recent shows. They only played stuff from Bonded, Tempo and SHKM. :(

really? Bonded...hmm

I wonder how Rob Dukes sounds on Pirahna...

Apocalyptic Raids 10-09-2005 12:00 AM

Apparently he sounds good on the Bonded stuff, but I wanna hear it for myself. I was never a fan of Zetro doing the BBB material.

I didn't say there weren't creative minds, just different ones.

And that hasn't mattered in the past (about the lineup situation).

Apocalyptic Raids 10-09-2005 12:35 AM

I have decided I will make a Thrash mailing list. Any of you are welcome to help. I will probably do the thread soon.

ThrashMaster27 10-09-2005 12:48 AM

I was thinking of doing a Thrash mailing list. Then I realised I was a lazy bastard with a crap connection. Live and learn eh!

What's on the cards for the first CD?

Apocalyptic Raids 10-09-2005 12:59 AM

Not sure. I could take the easy way out and do Heathen

Most likely will be Sauron or Sadus.

Don't worry, my connection sucks too. I just hope doing this doesn't send me over my 10 gig limit, because if I remember correctly, uploads count toward that.

I can upload Thrash Assault by Sauron or Illusions, Death To Poseurs and Certain Death by Sadus if you'd like.

Oh god, you aren't with Telstra aswell are you? They suck beyond belief. Uploads do count towards your limit. I have plenty of CD's I can upload, but like I say, it might take a bit of time.

Perhaps some Rigor Mortis.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-09-2005 01:13 AM

I won't be doing it every day. Just once or twice a week.

I am with Telstra :(
What'd you think of Exodus having only one original member from the Bonded By Blood era? How can you change so many creative inputs and still have it sound like Exodus? Pretty soon even Gary will be gone...
Gary basically is Exodus, he wrote the majority of their material even in the early days. There is an interview with him somewhere where he states he has written 90% of everything Exodus has done. Even on Pleasures Of The Flesh i believe since the very first formation of Exodus he was the only original member there.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-09-2005 08:32 AM

My local metal Radio show just played some of the new Exodus :D

They also played a modern thrash band called Rumplestiltskin Grinder. Pretty good Bay Area-styled thrash.

DimebagDarrell 10-09-2005 08:56 AM

These guys have been playing HEATHEN tracks...

Get in there and start requesting!

Not even Toxic Waltz?

...

Oh yeah, Exodus have gone the way of Megadave with Gary and all, but at least they're still writing some great music.
