Little Man being Erased 07-13-2006 02:15 PM

You listened to those two albums just so you could post them one after the other like that, didn't you?

Interstate 07-13-2006 02:18 PM
Showtime is even better than BITC. I love Dizzee Rascal.
I dunno, I seem to warm to BITC more. It's seems more raw. Mills was only 18/19 when he made it and produced it himself. Crazy stuff.

Robert Crumb 07-13-2006 03:38 PM

Dilla and Dennis Wilson.

ATM 07-13-2006 03:52 PM

Stephen Malkmus - Face the Truth

Little Man being Erased 07-13-2006 03:56 PM

The White Stripes - White Blood Cells

Good times.

Daniel! 07-13-2006 04:17 PM

Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike

I haven't listened to this for a few months and it's much better than I remember it.

Little Man being Erased 07-13-2006 04:35 PM

The D4 - 6Twenty

Tood gimes.

This Is Your Captain Speaking - Storyboard
Wire - Pink Flag

sketchyjoe 07-13-2006 05:36 PM

Dead Kennedys - Plastic Surgery Disasters
A complete classic. Moon Over Marin gets better each time I hear it.

Ted Leo - Tell Balgeary, Balgury is Dead
I love the solo version of The High Party and Bleeding Powers is just awesome.

Jimi Hendrix - Axis: Bold as Love
It's Jimi.

Happymeal 07-13-2006 06:38 PM

Koenjihyakkei - Angherr Shisspa (another band of Ruins' drummer guy)
Boredoms - Vision Creation Newsun
Gigantic Brain - The Invasion Discography (good times)

All of those make for a mind****-lite day.

Matt? 07-13-2006 08:31 PM
2/3 great albums. I hate Butch Walker.

The Wrens - Meadowlands

I've been warming to this a lot; there's really not much to dislike about it. Well-played, hook-filled indie rock with energy. I regret not paying attention to them at Intonation last year.
i didn't like them at first either but then i just got hooked to something about it.

i'm not even sure what

I Was A Kaleidoscope 07-13-2006 08:46 PM

hmm, the new wolf eyes album
it's quite scary

Storm In A Teacup 07-13-2006 09:56 PM

Lately I've been into "The Unraveling" and "The Sufferer and the Witness" by Rise Against, "All That Remains" from Fozzy, and the Coheed & Cambria record, "Second Stage Turbine Blade"

I Was A Kaleidoscope 07-13-2006 10:19 PM

i'm really really digging cult of luna. eee

br3ad_man 07-14-2006 12:08 AM

I was this week too. Cult of Luna are awesome.

My friend dropped me home from school today and we were listening to the radio in her car. I told her I would make her a tape so she doesn't have to listen to the radio all the time. She listens to music like Motion City Soundtrack, The Cure and Kings of Leon. Any suggestions for what to put on it? I'm thinking some Belle & Sebastian, The Smiths and Beck so far.

Interstate 07-14-2006 03:26 AM

Method Man & Redman - Blackout!
Redman - Muddy Waters - This gets better everytime I listen to it.

Kyle 07-14-2006 07:15 AM

i love it.
i can't believe i used to not like them at all

Robert Crumb 07-14-2006 01:33 PM

Leon Ware, Morita Doji and John Cale. Brian Eno a little earlier, too. Leon Ware is a soul dude, produced some solid Motown compositions. Morita Doji was a 70's psychedelic folk artist with a very pretty voice. John Cale, you all know him. Digging Fear, which is easily the best of his solo work I've heard, one of those understated precursors to '77. "Fear is a Man's Best Friend" will open my radio show next week. I think Eno helped out with the album.
Method Man & Redman - Blackout!
One of my favorite summer albums. \m/

BillCosby 07-14-2006 01:36 PM
2/3 great albums. I hate Butch Walker.
I thought I did too, but I like the songs I've heard from that album.

I haven't been home much, and usually when I am I just have my music library on shuffle.

But at the moment I am diggin:
!!! - Louden Up Now

Matt? 07-14-2006 02:03 PM

scarface so much. such awesome rhymes.

sketchyjoe 07-14-2006 03:39 PM

Fleshies - The Sicilian, Kill The Dreamer's Dream
A Radio With Guts - Acoustic Series (Great sweet indie reminiscent of pop-punk and Ted Leo)

sr800bkBassist 07-14-2006 03:54 PM
Bedouin Soundclash - Just got their Cd back from a friend, it's so much better when the weather is good.
ew, i saw them open for the Flaming Lips.

it's just like generic white college guy reggae but with a few FX thrown in.

br3ad_man 07-14-2006 04:31 PM
Orange Juice, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Knapsack

those came to mind for some reason
I've never heard any of those bands (though I'm way overdue to hear Orange Juice), can you tell me some songs?

sr800bkBassist 07-14-2006 04:33 PM

i'm surprised you haven't heard BJM.

br3ad_man 07-14-2006 04:36 PM

I've never bothered because they were in that movie with The Dandy Warhols (which I haven't seen) and I hate The Dandy Warhols.

sr800bkBassist 07-14-2006 04:38 PM

yeah, that's a deffinite turn-off.

well, they're not bad. very Britpoppy. i haven't gotten that much into them but one of my friends likes them a lot so everytime i'm in her car i hear them. i like this one song a lot, i think it's called Lantern.

Robert Crumb 07-14-2006 04:40 PM

Got my hands on the Mountain Goats leak. Yessssssssss. I can't listen to it now, though. Pre-emptive diggage.

BillCosby 07-14-2006 06:27 PM

Busta Rhymes - The Big Bang
Bun - I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT COMMERCIAL SHIIIIIT !!!!!

Matt? 07-14-2006 07:44 PM
I've never bothered because they were in that movie with The Dandy Warhols (which I haven't seen) and I hate The Dandy Warhols.
if you watched the movie it makes the dandy warhols off to be complete assholes while it makes the bjm look pretty cool for keeping their integrity.

all in all they are alright

br3ad_man 07-14-2006 08:07 PM

Yeah, I gathered that from reading Buddyhead.

Song of the week: Third Eye Blind - "Semi-Charmed Life". I should watch the Nacho version again.

sr800bkBassist 07-14-2006 08:14 PM

i love what Buddyhead has to say about the Dandy Warhols, as well as every other bad band ever.

ATM 07-14-2006 09:40 PM

I like one Dandy Warhols album a lot, but the rest of their stuff sucks.

Zebra 07-15-2006 07:10 AM

^Kickin' list. Especially Jesus Lizard, The Cows and the Butthole Surfers.

Brian Eno - Here Come the Warm Jets

pixiesfanyo 07-15-2006 09:28 AM

Not really a kickin' list.

More like I'm Indier Than Thou list.

pixiesfanyo 07-15-2006 09:32 AM
More like I'm Indier Than Thou list.
rebuttal.

pixiesfanyo 07-15-2006 09:47 AM

Nah. I guess just looking at your list and being heavily reminded of Pitchfork is off putting, because it seems like things are just thrown on their to be obscure and then things are just thrown on their to pretend you are diverse.

asymm 07-15-2006 10:13 AM

Yeah, the list seems pretty good and definitely looks like a Nacho created list. I'm not sure how you managed to create such a gigantic list without going crazy over the details. I've abandoned list-making because of that and a few other reasons. Oh - good call on GBV & RHP being so high. But not enough Sonic Youth.

Recently I've been too busy for much diggage:
Roxy Music - Avalon
Thom Yorke - The Eraser

BringHomeTheBacon 07-15-2006 10:26 AM

Elliott Smith- Roman Candle
Not sure if this is Elliott's best album but "Last Call" is definitely his best song.

Also my 2 favorite 2006 releases-
Mogwai- Mr. Beast
Thom Yorke- The Eraser
