 My jaw hit the floor the first time I listened to it when it got to the part.

south_of_heaven 11 03-26-2008 04:35 PM

Ugh I just got done listening to the first few tracks on that Cavalera Conspiracy album...****ing horrible. More groove ****.

I know I say this way too much in this thread but

WHERE THE HELL IS EPIDEMIC OF VIOLENCE

pate 03-31-2008 01:25 PM

Nobody knows DH.

FatalEnergy 03-31-2008 02:12 PM

I do.

Because I'm god.

playguitar 03-31-2008 02:24 PM

Poor Testament. It's really just impossible to follow The Gathering. Digorgio + Lombardo + Murphy + Eric doing all the riffs not trying to sound "classic" + before cancer Chuck Billy doing heavy vox + D flat tuning = OH HOLY GOD THAT ALBUM IS FANTASTIC!

SDG didn't really do anything special on The Gathering.
Neither did Murphy.
Tuning doesn't matter.

FatalEnergy 03-31-2008 03:19 PM

Steve should be worried about actually making the next Sadus album good.

pate 03-31-2008 03:20 PM

Darren Travis will **** it up anyway.

jrowa001 03-31-2008 04:43 PM

im addicted to The Scourger right now. awesome band

south_of_heaven 11 04-01-2008 07:07 AM

What...the...

GTFO

AFragileHope 04-01-2008 07:09 AM

I like Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica (pre Black Album) as much as the next thrash addict...

But is it just me or are Children of Bodom basically becoming a thrash band with power metal leaning? (i.e the keyboard wizardy) Blooddrunk seems much more thrash orientated than previous outings with Laiho and co.

RetiredAt21 04-01-2008 07:27 AM

Children Of Bodom are beyond gay.

pate 04-01-2008 07:33 AM

I'm agreeing with Retired way too much lately.

RetiredAt21 04-01-2008 07:34 AM

I was gonna say something gay, but I decided against it.

pate 04-01-2008 11:19 AM

The full Testament album finally leaked.

The 1:13 intro is the best track.

that would be a bad thing

pate 04-01-2008 11:41 AM

No ****

south_of_heaven 11 04-01-2008 11:44 AM

Downloading it now...hopefully not listening to it in the past week might make it better? Probably not.

pate 04-01-2008 11:45 AM

That worked for me.

south_of_heaven 11 04-01-2008 05:45 PM

Wait, you're saying you like the album now?

pate 04-01-2008 06:14 PM

I like it a lot more than I did at first. I'd still give it a 3-3.5/5.

In my rating scale, 3.5 is an album that I consider "alright", but not special. 3 is mediocre.

south_of_heaven 11 04-01-2008 06:34 PM

Well, I still have yet to listen to it in full now. My rating was at a 2.5-3 earlier.

im stoked now :) working on downloading it right now

pate 04-01-2008 06:37 PM

The songs aren't as slow as I remembered them. If I quit expecting them to go really fast, it wasn't as bad.

south_of_heaven 11 04-01-2008 06:39 PM

Yeah I think my problem was that I was expecting a rip-roaring thrash attack on my speakers at 200 mph. That and I really liked "More Than Meets the Eye".

pate 04-01-2008 06:41 PM

Yeah, that was my problem too.

Is it just me or are there very few solos on the album?

south_of_heaven 11 04-01-2008 06:42 PM

Well, there's one in every song but not multiple, if that's what you mean...

pate 04-01-2008 06:54 PM

Oh...they must not be memorable then. I can only remember there being like two on the album.

south_of_heaven 11 04-01-2008 06:58 PM

Nah they're all good and stuff, just nothing to get excited about really.

pate 04-01-2008 06:59 PM

I love how every Testament show now is being billed as "The first show here in X years with the original lineup!!"

Funny, but I don't seem to recall Paul Bostaph playing on The Legacy and The New Order...
