Me and AJIG...resident skeptics...
It just doesn't add up, it's plain and simple. The symbols used were dots and not stars, they aren't even asterixs!
I know. The fact it came from 'blair' seems rubbish too, why start telling people when he knows it'll get out. |
Come on guys, this stuff is illogical!
This thread dissapoints me at times, there is optimism but this seems like stupidity...
This quote was better for the above post of mine |
...Bookmarks page............................^
I hope its true. I think they are definately intending for that date to be the release, but I think things may get altered along the way.
Me too. I don't know if it's true, but I hope it is. I love the idea that it would be released on Tool Day. Edit: Someone on TDN made the point that stars are actually perfect spheres. Still, that seems like it's going a little to far. |
Hey remember. If it was released the 25th and in stores to be bought the 26th, remember that the 26th is International Tool Day. It only helps backup this date.
|

I see that as more conclusive proof than anything else. |
I'm still very skeptical, but I'm really going for this date. I could almost definately be wrong too.
|
I see that as more conclusive proof than anything else.
I agree, it's better proof then the star theory. |
I really don't see that as a big thing... But ok.
And it kionda doesn't make sense when you use it in the update its in. But I'm gonna remain optimistic :D
Well the whole theory is based on multiplying stuff by the 5 points of the symbol, which isn't even a star... What's this about national tool day? |
Well the whole theory is based on multiplying stuff by the 5 points of the symbol, which isn't even a star...
What's this about national tool day?
Sept. 26th is international Tool day. Like, wrenches and stuff. Someone on TDN made the point that Stars are actually perfect spheres. I don't think they'd go as far and use dots in it though. |
If stars are perfect spheres.. then why multiply with 5?
|
Sept. 26th is international Tool day. Like, wrenches and stuff.
That would be humerous, but it would be the 26th and not the 25th so theory would be wrong :) |
I think the dots could represent the stars. It may have been something to just throw us off. Maybe not.
Also, with the whole "multiplying the points" thing. Couldn't you multiply the 3 dots by the 5 dots as a whole, do the same wiith the 2 dots by the 5 as a whole, and the last dot would be added? |
That would be humerous, but it would be the 26th and not the 25th so theory would be wrong :)
But the 25th is a Sunday. IT wouldn't be available, but it could be released. So by the time we can buy it, it would be the 26th, hence the "Tool Day". Everything dosen't have to be perfect. |
What a load of crap.
|
That would be humerous, but it would be the 26th and not the 25th so theory would be wrong :)
I'm pretty sure I'm not first to say this but it could be released for orders, or maybe have downloadbles on their site on the 25th, and then it could be in stores 26th. The only the reason the 26th was brought is because it's a Sunday, and albums aren't put in stores on Sundays, normally. |
What a load of crap.
Probably. I'm in a Nyquill daze right now. Damn colds! |
What a load of crap.
   I read over Blair's update again and it actually seems to me that that the dots and dashes could be the name of the recording process, and not a date or anything. He said it was a new way or something, and maybe that Stittett word or whatever is the name. Meh, just a thought. I'm not going to shoot for anything until something official is announced. I'm just going to hope that the 26th is true, because it'd be nice, and I like the Tool day idea. |
Didn't we also find out that Stittett could also be decoded as Stimem?
|
Oh how the mighty will fall when it does get released on the 26th.
(hopefully) |
Other points of arguments of the pessemistic nature...
#1 _ / _ _ / _ _ This would mean the date is 9/25/05 the proper american way, though the 05 isn't counted... #2 dd/mm/yy is the british way of writing dates, why would Blair use this? #3 Why divide up the sections into ***-** and --*-- ...why not ***-** , **--* and *-- whih seems more logical to me, or maybe other permutations? #4 "This adds up to the 25th, the day of the last quarters of the moon, but Sundays are generally not days for a CD to be released. " Why even mention this, it is clear the 1 dot needs to be accounted for therefore the date cannot be the 25th #5 If the date is considered to be the 26th. The other numebrs of dots (3 and 2) are multiplied by 5, why is the 1 dot not multiplied by 5? making the date the 31st, (again not a CD release date) #6 "Blair also affirmed this date, and added he could not make the information obvious at all to his fans, therefore he made it almost impossible" Almost? I see no logic in working this out, therefore Blair has made it slightly more difficult than 'almost impossible' Please thread, think about this. Are there any good, logical arguments supporting this date except for national tool day? |

This adds up to the 25th, the day of the last quarters of the moon, but Sundays are generally not days for a CD to be released. Therefore the line, which is one by one persay, would simply be 1 and when added to the others would be 26, Monday. |
So, did Blair confirm that this( •••-••--•-- ) is the date?
|
Oh how the mighty will fall when it does get released on the 26th.
(hopefully)
I hope for you to be correct..(or incorrect if the release date is sooner) |

Everyone just hopes it is. You seem to be arguing with yourself. |
Oh how the mighty will fall when it does get released on the 26th.
(hopefully)
Seriously though, if it does, will the first thing on your mind be 'time to take the piss outta rob and ben', or 'WOW! TOOOOOOOOOOOL!' /headbangs |

Uh.. Plenty of you seem to be talking like it's gospel |

But it just seems stupid to cling on to this date. I'm going to say it will be 08/08/05 Because the numbers are more round, and i like them that way. |
So, did Blair confirm that this( •••-••--•-- ) is the release date?
