Crude insults ftl.

Obsequies 04-16-2008 02:50 AM

Shut up large bundle of stickss.
Also, to re-invigorate our differences, I still think Legion is horribly average.
There's no point discussing anything here. If you think Legion is average you're a lost cause.

rasputin 04-16-2008 02:50 AM

Nah confessed, remember he's totally elite and his views on death metal are what we should all be aiming for. I'm so glad he posts in this forum, now I can make a difference with my life.

omg i dont like what you like, i must be a total n00b

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 02:55 AM

lol rasputin

The lbos insult got old after someone called me it once. Using gay/fag as an insult is what pre pubescents seem to enjoy doing these days, so I'll just leave them to it.

rasputin 04-16-2008 03:16 AM

Agreed. Doesn't hurt to stir them up every now and then though :D

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 06:29 AM

I love how eliminator keeps negging me and his comment is simply '.'

DBlitz 04-16-2008 06:40 AM

me too.

although it only happened once, I think he's gonna neg this post because I brought it up

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 07:12 AM

lol because rep means everything to us

ninjamonkey 04-16-2008 07:16 AM

so what is with all these "death heads'" obsession with rap?

I guess I'm so elite that I haven't even heard enough hip hop to notice any "thuggin" in my death

idk

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 07:17 AM

lol

Aakon_Keetreh 04-16-2008 08:32 AM

ive gotten a few

Solitary 04-16-2008 11:06 AM

So back to a rarity on this forum perhaps? Some real discussion?

Name your favorite Immolation album. Why?

For me my favorite is Close to a World Below, because it combines the technicality and ferocity that Immolation do so well making for an intense album. I find that as Immolation have progressed they have improved somewhat with every album although I can only speak as far as Close to a World below - I don't own Unholy Cult (yet) nor anything afterwards. Dawn of Possession although great I find a little tame compared with the mighty Close to a World Below, or Failures for Gods, (or Here in After!). I don't think they'd established their style fully there. How does newer material compare with the earlier material?

the2stranger 04-16-2008 11:10 AM

Unholy Cult.
Powerful, hard hitting, brutal.
Great solos, excellent production.
First 3 songs are so good, the rest also rocks, but the first three songs.
Concrete shattering death metal.

masscows 04-16-2008 11:15 AM

Close to a World below is my favorite as well. To me it epitomizes what evil, crushing death metal is all about; the perfect mix of brutality, odd and dissonant riffing, great melody, some of the best death metal drumming ever, excellent lyrics and impeccable songwriting. It's moments like the middle section of 'Put My Hand in the Fire' that really make the album go from excellent to classic to me.

Their only album I'd say is somewhat generic is Dawn of Possession; each album after that has its own unmistakable flavor. I think Close to a World Below is their best, Harnessing Ruin is their worst and Failures For Gods is only a little bit behind Unholy Cult/Here In After/Shadows in the Light/Dawn of Possession (I hold each of these in equal esteem).

The only reason I don't like FFG as much as those ones is because of the inexcusably awful production. The drums are really overproduced and the guitars are way too compressed.

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:17 AM

I like Cannibal Corpse coz they own. End of.

masscows 04-16-2008 11:19 AM

I know. Hence my interruptions. Duh.

masscows 04-16-2008 11:24 AM

:thumb: I know

Aakon_Keetreh 04-16-2008 11:26 AM

Immolation is hella sick.

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:26 AM

I'm enjoying Job For A Cowboy.

I love pig squeals although too many of them make me want to smash scene kids to smithereens.

EDIT: Soz to be less than 31it3

Aakon_Keetreh 04-16-2008 11:28 AM

I dont consider them death metal.

definition of scene kid tbh

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:30 AM

I know; they're deathcore (thrashing in my pram as we speak). They're influenced very heavily by lots of death metal bands; like Nile, Morbid Angel and Suffocation.

At the end of the day, JfaC have got it going for them. Good luck to them in my book. Hopefully they're next record will own and be better than Genesis.

masscows 04-16-2008 11:31 AM

I think Genesis showed that they have a little potential but it repeats too many of the same ideas. I doubt they'll become great.

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:32 AM
definition of scene kid tbh
you forgot faggoty, girlish jeans w/ haircut and no sense of identity rattlehead.

Ghoul Hustler 04-16-2008 11:41 AM

JFAC is death metal not deathcore

masscows 04-16-2008 11:41 AM

The only difference between the two is hair styles and the type of breakdowns they use tbh

Not defending deathcore since it's 99% garbage, but it's kind of the truth.

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:43 AM

Yes, 99% is garbage.

Wow, I'm so glad I don't bother reviewing under Confessed anymore.

Ghoul Hustler 04-16-2008 11:45 AM

hahaha you idiot

there's a bunch of good bands and a bunch of **** bands like any other genre.

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:46 AM

Ghoul Hustler, you deserve some rep my man. Gimme five! *raises hand*

masscows 04-16-2008 11:48 AM

If by "a bunch" you mean "1% of them" then yeah

How many good deathcore bands can you actually name? How many shitty ones can you name? Probably alot more of the latter.

I think the difference is lack of quality control among fans of deathcore as opposed to death metal, since metalheads are elitists and shitty death metal bands don't often become well known and scene kids will like anything that's played tight, is catchy and is easy to dance to so alot of shitty deathcore bands become well known.

ninjamonkey 04-16-2008 11:49 AM

I went to a Nile show a few weeks ago and it was 80% scene kids. wtf

Suicide Silence didn't even show up

When I saw Nile a year ago it was <1% scene kids

Music is becoming too popular tbh

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:51 AM

Animosity, old Through the Eyes of the Dead, The Faceless, old Job For A Cowboy (the excellent musicianship is undeniable tbh) amongst many others.

I can think of tons of awesome death metal bands but I've heard/seen a fair share of crap ones as well. Gimme Cannibal Corpse, Necrophagist, Origin, Morbid Angel etc etc any day. But still; I listen to more than one genre because I possess something you don't seem to grasp...an open mind. Sorry dude, but; you fail me.

Tyler 04-16-2008 11:52 AM
Sorry dude, but; you fail me.
That isn't how you use a semi-colon. You are the one who fails

AFragileHope 04-16-2008 11:53 AM

Wow coke. You're still as cynical as ever.

masscows 04-16-2008 11:56 AM
Animosity, old Through the Eyes of the Dead, The Faceless, old Job For A Cowboy (the excellent musicianship is undeniable tbh) amongst many others.
The Faceless isn't deathcore (They're kinda boring to me though). I kind of like Animosity since they don't rely on gay breakdowns to carry their songs and actually have riffs. TTEOTD has one good release; I used to like Scars of Ages but not so much anymore. Their split is great though.

I'm really not seeing the 'musicianship' aspect of Job for a Cowboy though, but technicality is irrelevant. I just find them boring.
But still; I listen to more than one genre because I possess something you don't seem to grasp...an open mind. Sorry dude, but; you fail me.
wow go away, I'm not closed minded at all, I just know what I like.

Deth 04-16-2008 11:57 AM

That's not a routine misuse though, that's creating new laws of grammar just to break them.

I really don't understand the appeal of deathcore and have yet to hear a band involved with it that I don't hate. Oh well.
