That's the next band I want to get into, Porcupine Tree.

Any suggestions on the first album I should get?

On the topic of Deftones, Check out the song called When Girls Telephone Boys.

its incredible! The breakdown has so much atmosphere! What a song. the song Pink maggots also strikes me down.

clearvision 07-14-2005 12:00 PM

'In absentia' or maybe 'Deadwing'

New Coheed + Cambria song is interesting...

I used to hate C&C, but they grew on me. I particularly love the 'Blood Red Summer' video because I'm a huge zombie fan.

clearvision 07-14-2005 12:05 PM

The song 'In keeping secrets of silent earth' has rocked me for weeks...

The new song is really progressive, not pop-punk atall anymore...

denboy 07-14-2005 12:06 PM

C&C.. Their music is okay, and they show obvious talent, but I just think it lacks something

denboy 07-14-2005 12:08 PM

I would rep that post if I could

Syncratic 07-14-2005 12:12 PM

Balls? Maybe, Claudio's voice isn't exactly my favorite.

But, man is that guy chisled.

That was a pretty kickass video. They're a fairly talented band, I think they have a lot of potential.

Huber 07-14-2005 12:24 PM

I'll like C&C sometime down the road when I get over that guy's voice. For now though, I'm not interested.

Happy to hear they are adding a little prog-ness and originality to the music though.

Kage 07-14-2005 12:28 PM

I can't stand them personally.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-14-2005 12:29 PM

/has never (knowingly) heard any of their stufff.

Though Pop Punk lot go on about them a fair bit

Rothmans 07-14-2005 12:32 PM

Meh I only really like one of there songs (but it is the only song I have heard by them)

Syncratic 07-14-2005 12:37 PM

They're the only Pop-Punk I like, the rest is trash, in my opinion.

Esoteric_Creator 07-14-2005 12:57 PM

Here's something odd..

I just got back from the TOOL website (www.toolband.com) and everything that usually just sits there in the News sect. is completely gone.

Now, I could just be over reacting, but something like this (as far as I've seen) has never happened to the news sect. You would at least be able to check out the past archives, and I can't even do that..?

Maybe you's guys can shed some light on the subject, or it can be just a HTML f*ck up. Or maybe something a bit more interesting (which I wouldn't be surprise this being TOOL and all).

Check it out if you want.

I see no difference. Im guessing its just a minor blip on your part

Kage 07-14-2005 01:05 PM

I went there and the news section was there and fully in tact.

Same here. I'd try going back again. It seems fine.

Futuro 07-14-2005 01:07 PM

Magicaltroll 07-14-2005 01:08 PM

Works fine for me...

Kage 07-14-2005 01:09 PM

What's this little insignia everyone seems to have in his user title?

Futuro 07-14-2005 01:11 PM

someone had a really cool explanation about it, something to do with how tool fans think alike, so we all went with it.

Magicaltroll 07-14-2005 01:12 PM

***-**--*-- = original symbol
Take the first 6 characters, because generally in a date there are 6 characters, for example (09/25/05)

***-**
There are 5 stars altogether, each with 5 points.
The first 3 stars, if multiplied by their points (3 x 5) would be 15.
The second set of stars, then multiplied by their points (2 x 5) would be 10.
This adds up to the 25th, the day of the last quarters of the moon, but Sundays are generally not days for a CD to be released.
Therefore the line, which is one by one persay, would simply be 1 and when added to the others would be 26, Monday.

--*--
The second 5 characters are the month.
Once again the star rule applies, 1 star multiplied by its 5 points would be 5.
When added to the four lines, this makes the ninth month, September, whose day the 25th is the last quarter of the moon.

Blair also affirmed this date, and added he could not make the information obvious at all to his fans, therefore he made it almost impossible, especially by putting the day before the month.

I hope its true...

Adam Jones is GOD 07-14-2005 01:22 PM

I just want an update. I wanna see if Blair knows "its" out if its true.

clearvision 07-14-2005 01:24 PM

Me and AJIG...resident skeptics...

It just doesn't add up, it's plain and simple. The symbols used were dots and not stars, they aren't even asterixs!

Dude3 07-14-2005 01:25 PM

I hope its true. I think they are definately intending for that date to be the release, but I think things may get altered along the way.

clearvision 07-14-2005 01:27 PM

Come on guys, this stuff is illogical!

This thread dissapoints me at times, there is optimism but this seems like stupidity...
