So for the list, would the Album/Cd have to be released during the artist's career, or can it be any official live recording? (Example - Hendrix Live At Berkely)

BludgeonySteve 11-07-2004 05:58 PM

How the west was won has to be on there.
On the topic of live albums, I'm listening to Mountain Jam off Disc 2 of Live At Filmore East...9 minutes down, nearly 25 to go. I like disc 1 of that album, but disc 2 > most other music.
Agreed. Mountain Jam is the most kickass song, especially the bass solo

 I don't care what badmoon says that should be on there.

What's the best Dead live stuff? So far I have Live at Leeds, Live at Fillmore, and How the West Was Won. Can Wheels of Fire Disc 2 count?

Even you admitted it.

Oh What about Floyd?

:thumb: agreed.

To whoever the hell kept pushing Procol Harem on me, the classic rock radio station in Calgary played Conquistador ;). I enjoyed it even more before it was not coming out of my semi-broken headphones.

Badmoon 11-07-2004 06:05 PM

I'm just trying to please the group.

I personally would add at least two more Dead album, but no one would agree. Or we could add Dylan and The Dead?

jpj 11-07-2004 06:06 PM
Led Zeppelin - How the West was Won
 Did he just say what I think he said? Queen Live Magic anyone?

EDIT: Oh yes Dylan and The Dead could be on it.

Don't try to even it out. Each album you took out was a 5/5 for sure.

I'll give you Dylan and the Dead if you give me something by Cream.

Woodstock 11-07-2004 06:08 PM

I think we should have a Hendrix album in the list.

Dylan and The Dead>Cream IMO

Like Live at Berkeley which I just listened to today and loved.

Badmoon 11-07-2004 06:09 PM

Cream's best live album wasn't completely live, how can we count that?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-07-2004 06:09 PM

Band of Gypsys

Yes. I told you. I'll vouch for Live at Berkely too.

Subtract Live at Berkley and and put Band of Gypsies. IMO
Band of Gypsys
Ding Ding Ding

It's a great live one.

Woodstock 11-07-2004 06:13 PM

Shall we make a poll with this?

lunch998 11-07-2004 06:14 PM

I think Live at Berkely is better.

Badmoon 11-07-2004 06:16 PM

not yet

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-07-2004 06:22 PM

Haven't herd it so....I shall download it.

Illmatic 11-07-2004 06:38 PM

I found that "Band of Gypsies" was average overall.

And we have to include SOME Frank Zappa. How about one of the "You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore" albums?

Badmoon 11-07-2004 06:39 PM
"Beginnings" was not a live album.
Yea, you're right. I must have picked it out while going through my Allman collection. :chug:

I think Band of Gypsys is hardly average, it's spectacular.
