Aww, I thought I had heard Exorcist, but I realized I've only heard the US one. :upset:
Aww, I thought I had heard Exorcist, but I realized I've only heard the US one. :upset:
The Polish one rips the US one about a million assholes. :D

Freezing Moon 10-04-2005 10:54 PM

I'm listening to the song on their official site, and I'd have to say I agree.

The quality of this isn't great, but it's live so I'd expect it to sound thin.

Their official site says that they're remastering a couple of their demos. Hopefully that will make them a bit more accessable. :D

I am bound to come up with Seven Churches every single time I search "exorcist" on slsk. :(

FatalEnergy 10-04-2005 11:43 PM

There is some Polish band called Wolf Spider that is quite decent Thrash.
I still can't wait for the new Destruction to come out. I want to hear that album in it's full enterity. Soul Collecter is great, and so is the Alliance of Hellhoundz.

It gives me chills everytime I hear the intro and all the great guest singers all in one song of pure metalness :)

I wish I could match up to the greatness of SHKM.
I have it :) its pretty good but it doesnt match up to SHKM you have heard the best already really well Chosen Ones and Twist of Fate are also pretty good in my opinion The Antichrist is better.

Edit: Checking out Exorcist now :thumb:
Yeah, speaking of Anthrax I need to go get the new live album
In my opinion, it should be Testament.

RCA 10-05-2005 04:16 PM

Brutal Viking Skullfuck is officially on hold. I've made plans with two friends to form a hardcore punk band (leaning towards crossover), for the sole purpose of slandering the hardcore/emo scene in my area.

We plan on being the rawest, fastest, and most offensive thing to hit the Jackson, MS area.

VeedBok 10-05-2005 04:31 PM

Has anyone heard of Tankard? I just got Chemical Invasion and its awesome. I was just wondering if there are any other Tankard fans out there.

Wanna play a show? I think we could make the trip down there, for sure, dude!

imo the big four of thrash aren't that big(maybe Megadeth), they are mostly popular; but there's many other great thrash bands.

Depends when it is, but hell yeah! I'll let everyone know.

Awesome, this emo/scremo/scene/hardcore thing is getting out of hand. Time to beat it's ass

For some reason I always seem to pick up Power Metal loving guitarists, which is cool, but they never want to play thrash. I gave one of them Spectrum of Death last night, I think it may have changed his mind :D

I agree, it's way out of hand.

At least you can pick up guitarists. The ones here are the type who would take off the three high strings because they get in the way of their horrible breakdowns. :p

RavenousMetalist87 10-05-2005 05:19 PM
Go on Soulseek and look for stuff by Exorcist, Hammer, Imperator, and maybe Horrorscope. It's really good stuff if you like raw, deathy/blackened thrash (minus Hammer, they sound like Shah-meets-Mekong Delta).

Dargon has more bands for me to check out, I'll report back.
Shweet!

I can't really get on that stuff until Friday because I got Stats to work on right now, and Physics tommorrow...

Plus today is one of my friend's b-day. That's the only reason why I'm on so early.

Shred Danson 10-05-2005 05:19 PM

Dude, I wish there were more local bands around here that didn't play metalcore, I mean, I love the other bands, I'm good friends with all the other guys, but we need some more extreme metal up in this bitch, man! I'm tired of kids with bandanas over their faces coming to our shows and kicking our crowd in the face....

Freezing Moon 10-05-2005 05:47 PM

So I found Voices From the Grave, and I'm on my first listen through it. The production values are about what I expected from an 80's demo from a very unknown band; not so great. This isn't much of a setback though.

I really like this, exactly is my kind of thrash. :)

Is this thing everywhere in the country?

God... there's like two decent musicians around here, and one of them I can never contact, and he's in some crappy band that covers nothing but Metallica.

Same situation here.

There are a couple good guitarists that either...
a) like horrible music
b) are already in a band

I want to start a thrash band so badly. :(

NP: Dekapitator - Hell's Metal

MAthiAS 10-05-2005 06:10 PM

At this point I don't care what the hell kind of band I start, as long as its not post-hardcore.

Im in the same situation all of the good guitarist are either in a band or like shitty music. Its hard to find people to play in a band where im from.

FatalEnergy 10-05-2005 07:00 PM

The guitarists I know want to be an Iced Earth ripoff band, but mabye with a little work I'll get something going. There is actually a local band that is REAL thrash who is pretty damn good they are kind of like an Early Metallica/Slayer thrash band with hints of Canadian thrash in there

Its hard everywhere in this decade.

Anyone know what gear Gary used on SHKM to get that amazing rhythm tone?

I think the production fits the style of music rather well. The vocals remind me of Wrest's a little bit.

Trevor: I think by December we should be ready.

Mathias: All I know is that he used a Bernie Rico Jr. "Vixen" guitar, which is very sexy.

NP: Overkill - Drunken Wisdom (Best. Middle-break. Ever.)

MAthiAS 10-05-2005 09:16 PM

Damn, it is sexy.

Lee Altus used a DV8-R too... very nice guitar.

After listening to it five times in a row, I definitly agree. :p

The vocals do sound a bit like Wrest now that you mention it.

It's a shame they only released a handful of demos. :(

Lee used a DV8? Doesn't Dave Mustaine use those?
