I say its their most underrated by far, and I really like it a lot.
|
i love Caught somewhere in time, loneliness of the long distance runner and déja vu, IMO those are the best on the album, but the others are still awesome.
some people will say "OMG alexander the great is teh secks!" but tbh i don't really like it as much as the others, good song but not the best on the album. |
Caught Somewhere in Time is an amazing song, love the intro and the bass...and the solo....and the chorus.....just love the song generally.
|
The whole album is awesome, CSiT is an amazing opener.
|

well, it does have the massive long solos... |
I like SiT alot...sea of madness is amazing, as are CSIT and Heaven can wait...
|
oh crap, how could i forget them!
i really should get genuine copies of BNW and Sit, as they're my favourite maiden albums, but lack of money* is a problem. *caused by buying maiden tickets. |

Heaven Can Wait might be Maiden's best "singalong" song. The chorus is so addictive, as is the woah-a-woah part. Seriously, there've been times I'll be walking through school, and suddenly realize I'll be inaudibally muttering that part. The rest of the album is just as good (except a few tracks, of course.) They really need to break out more Somewhere in Time tracks live (not that it matters if they don't tour the fucking US. Damn Ozzfest and your driving Maiden away.) |
HCW is awesome. i have a couple of live versions of that. the "take my hand" bit is awesome.

i do that all the time with Maiden songs, i don't think anyones noticed though:) |
Yeah, me too...with alot of music.
|
I do it more with bands like Blind Guardian. It's impossible not to sing along to choruses like Time Stands Still. Impossible.
|
errrh... another crappy Nu metal band opening for Maiden....
MAIDEN DESERVE BETTER OPENING BANDS!!!! or... maby.... the FANS deserve better opening bands.... |
Trivium aren't nu-metal, but they aren't good either.
|
Trivium aren't nu-metal, but they aren't good either.
Well they are if you have an self-respect... :p |
Trivium is better than most bands of their genre, but for the most part you probably won't notice it. You can tell that they are HUGE Maiden fans because sometimes their choruses turn really anthemic and catchy. This is probably a dream of a lifetime for them, so think of it that way :)
|
Yeah and if it wasn't for Trivium i'd have noone to go with to see Maiden:p
|
I don't care, really, I'd make sarcastic comments about pretty much any band opening for Maiden, except if it was a band I really liked...
ah, I don't think it'll be as good as some of the abuse I gave FFAF, but I'll try. |
i reckon Trivium should be allright, but let's face it, most people are going to be there to see Maiden, so their reception's hardly going to be brilliant.
|
Can't be any worse than FFAF surely
|
/touches wood.
who cares, we're gonna abuse them anyway, whoever it is. well, maybe if metallica supported them we'd be...tolerant. |
Piss off.
I'd still abuse Metallica. |
Trivium should be pretty good, especially for a Maiden warm up, and I agree it's a definitley a huge step up from FFAF, all thought the supports bands at Hammersmith were pretty damn good.
|
Gigantour was fun because it's probably the only metal concert where people will chant "Metallica sucks!" (or "Lars sucks!" sometimes) You just don't get that kind of slagging off anywhere!
|

 Sweet. |
but Lars does suck, so freedom of speech means we can't be locked up for saying the truth.
right? >_> <_< |
oh my god i got tickets to see maiden in glasgow AND ITS ON MY BIRTHDAY !!!!!
|

Anyway, i guess im the only one who likes trivium :(
I like them at times, they're the sort of band that i really like for about a month then i'll go off them for a while and then back to liking them and so on. |
I would like Trivium a lot more if it wasn't for those horrible vocals.
|
Trivium are either loved or hated in the majority of cases. There's few people who think they're just ok.

i'm one of those few people then :p |
i hate them tbh and sadly have 2 see them while they support maiden
|
meh, i'm not too arsed. i may take my mp3 player, then get to the front row and listen to that while Trivium are on :p.
new topic: assume Maiden play 18 songs or so, of which, say, 6 are from the new album (like DoD tour), what songs off other albums will they play? i would like (in no particular order / preference) : Hallowed Be Thy Name Sign Of The Cross Blood Brothers (although Brave New World would be great, again) Iron Maiden Caught Somewhere In Time Fear Of The Dark Paschendale Hooks In You (yes, i actually like that one :p) To Tame A Land Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (or Powerslave) The Evil That Men Do The Trooper |
The Trooper to close would = pwnage
|
The Trooper to close would = pwnage
in no particular order :p note the lack of NOTB and RTTH, seen them do those songs twice before, so 2 different longer ones makes it way better :) |
oic
I still stand by what I said :( |
oic
I still stand by what I said :(
it would be such an awesome closer, yes. |
I doubt they would play 6. Possibly 4, maybe less if the album hasn't been released yet.
|
I doubt they would play 6. Possibly 4, maybe less if the album hasn't been released yet.
this is for the december gig, the album will have been released by then :p and they played 6 off DoD (Rainmaker, Wildest Dreams, DoD, No more lies, journeyman, paschendale) |
