Drum Phil 12-19-2005 12:15 PM

Ah well :) i dont care.

Im still wantin a 22" crash so someone name a sabian crash they reckon would work for this. Want it bright and cutting (AAX Style) medium weight or thin i guess

Brokensticks 12-19-2005 12:18 PM

Awesome, I don't think they make a 22" Stage Crash, so that sucks...

Anyways, I need some good help here, I decided to finally go get some primer/paint for my old drums that are just way too ugly to stain.

I know that I need to paint on the primer first, but after that do I paint it blue and then put a sparkle finish on it? How do I go about putting on the sparkle? And does it come in a can or something?

Drum Phil 12-19-2005 12:19 PM

They do. They'll custom hammer any cymbal to any size they already make.

I'll already have a 20" stage so it'd sound too similar

Brokensticks 12-19-2005 01:05 PM

puppet.master 12-19-2005 01:13 PM

Drum Phil 12-19-2005 01:17 PM

puppet.master 12-19-2005 01:25 PM

Drum Phil 12-19-2005 01:25 PM

What're you doin?

Brokensticks 12-19-2005 01:31 PM

I was planning on doing a blue sparkle finish like BB's but blue. I have no idea if I the sparkle is in the paint of seperately and my friend said he would put the sparkle on before the paint.... but I have no clue.

puppet.master 12-19-2005 01:33 PM

find BBs thread and read how he did it

The Ska Man 12-19-2005 01:35 PM

BB Used the stuff that comes in a spray(Aerosol?) can.

Brokensticks 12-19-2005 01:38 PM

So should I paint it a blue and then spray over it?

Jezen 12-19-2005 01:39 PM

If you can't find a glitter effect spray in blue, then you will have to make your own utilising a spray gun, with a nozzle just big enough for the flakes to fit through without clogging.

The Ska Man 12-19-2005 01:41 PM

Make sure its a low volume-low pressure type of spray gun.

EDIT: actually, I can't verify that, ask at drumshed

Brokensticks 12-19-2005 01:44 PM

I'm going to go to the local paint store, i'll see if they have any.

So basically it is a spray paint with glitter effect in it rather than painting the drums with a brush and adding sparkles?

Jezen 12-19-2005 01:50 PM

Yes.

mysticalyeti 12-19-2005 01:52 PM

I wish I could still record. If I try now it sounds so muffled and distorted it makes me want to break this soundcard in half.. :/

styler 12-19-2005 01:56 PM

bah i just went into the pit to find the slightly awkward moments thread and it got deleted...:( it should of been stickied...bah!..main area in the pit is 4 pages...pretty impressive mods...:)

I've got to do a song interpretation for english.
http://www.danah.org/Ani/Reckoning/Grey.html
I think it's about meeting a person who you think is everything you want, but later on the relationship peters out, and you no longer have feelings for your partner. She can see through you, and she knows they're drifting apart, but neither can bring themselves to part company.
I hate this.

Josiah 12-19-2005 03:19 PM

That's a cool song, I take a slightly different interpretation.

Janeway 12-19-2005 03:21 PM

I never took you for an Ani DiFranco type person...

Drum Phil 12-19-2005 05:10 PM

Festive avatar ahoy :)

-TheGlassPrison- 12-19-2005 06:37 PM

Guys,
I got the 22" Coated G1 on my bass drum, and ive spent 3 hours trying to get it to sound really fat and have a good thump.
I cant seem to get it... it always has a kind of whipy sound to it.
HELP.

The Ska Man 12-19-2005 06:43 PM

What do you have as a batter?

Futuro 12-19-2005 06:43 PM

G1 on bass? That is really thin. If I was you I would Take it back, Then get a Power stroke 3 or an Evans Emad.
