The Doors- st
The Crystal Ship, Alabama Song, End of the Night, and The End are perfect songs. They exemplify perfection. |
A rare bit of mx being online allows me to say hi everyone :)
There's a new Mastodon song up on their myspace called "Crystal Skull." Sounds really tight. I got one of the new Mars Volta songs as well, but unfortunately it was just the intro track "A Vicarious Atonement." Not that it's necessarily BAD, but it doesn't tell me anything about the new album. It's like an extended "Son Et Lumiere" with neater guitar parts. Oh well I guess I wait a little longer. |
I've been digging Ziggy Marley's new album. I think it's really great. I don't want to overstate it, but I want it to get the hype it deserves, too.
|
I've been digging Amputechture by The Mars Volta, Tetragrammaton and Meccamputechture give me orgasms
|
Kavinsky's Teddy Boy EP got me in the mood for some 80s classics, so I've been spinning that along side Human League's 'Don't You Want Me' and 'She's Like The Wind'.
And Owls. |
Harry and the Potters - Voldemort Cant Stop the Rock
Rollerskate Skinny - Horsedrawn Wishes God Is An Astronaut - The End of the Beginning Failure - Fantastic Planet |
I Would Set Myself On Fire For You - Believes in Patterns
Why have people getting so excited over this? This is really really pretentious, and whats more it can't even pull it off due to the mediocrity being blasted into our ears. FAIL.
I heard one song from that band and I thought it was ok. I think it was from the s/t though. Do you normally like emo stuff? Dig; Calexico - Feast of Wire Magazine - Real Life Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary Neil Young - Prarie Wind Beck - Sea Change Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - B Sides and Rarities I listened to a lot today. |
No, I don't really. |
Considering this place will no doubt, in the next few days, stay as ****ed as it has been for the past few, and considering you all need to know what I'm listening to, I'll hook a brothahhh up.
My planned listening for the next few days. The Bronx - II These Arms Are Snakes - Oxeneers... Comets on Fire - Avatar Comets on Fire - Field Recordings from the Sun Air - 10,000hz legend Cat Power - You Are Free Stooges - Metallic K.O The Wipers - Is This Real? The Wipers - Youth of America Boss - Born to Run |
No, I don't really.
Have you heard Witness by Modern Life Is War? Seems like the kind of hardcore you'd enjoy.. maybe. |
White Whale - WWI
The track on Merge's site is quite nice. I'll give the full length a listen sometime. Oh yeah - and excellent cover as well. Autechre - Tri Repetae++ |
Have you heard Witness by Modern Life Is War?
Seems like the kind of hardcore you'd enjoy.. maybe.
I do enjoy some hardcore, and derivatives from it ie. BTBAM |
MLIW is just kind of.. we're fucking men, hardcore.
Lots of people rate it as being the "best" recent hardcore album. Just listen to it I'm sure you'll enjoy it. |
Modern Life Is War are pretty intense. They make Converge look like Senses Fail.
(lame comparison, i know) |
i'd have to say Jerome's Dream is the heaviest hardcore band i've ever encounter. just because when i listen to them at full loudness on my ipod headphones. the things break.
|
Doesn't matter what way I force myself to read that, it doesn't sound appealing. Tough guy hardcore? The whole deal smacks of supressed homo-eroticism, makes me hate my ears, hands and eyes (or anything that comes into contact with the stuff). |

Yeah it's not like that though. It's.. hard to explain. I would never listen to stuff that's like "You're in my crew/We bleed together". It's basically really really depressing but incrediblely heavy. Just give it a try. |
About one the two new clips on Kayo Dot's myspace.. I can only hope that it's Mia on vocals <3
And it is! |
Yeah it's not like that though.

I think a good dessert would be the Sunny Day Real Estate "Seven"-Layer Cake.
"You'll taste it, you'll taste it... and it will be delicious!" Also, I've almost finished learning the basslines to "Repulsion" and "The Wagon" by Dinosaur Jr. Gotta do it by ear since there are no tabs, and it's pretty rewarding I'd say. |

It's really hit and miss, but I always come back to it cuz it's got some fantastic songs. Pity they can only manage like 6 an album. |
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze I started to have an "albums that have cases that can never possibly fit in my CD racks day" today. Also: 1 Make Up 3 wtf last.fm? I listened to way more crap than that. I even accidentally left music playing all night for about 14 hours straight on shuffle when I was too wasted to remember to turn it off before I went to bed one night (morning). |

Yeah, they've got a new EP (even though it's not meant to be out until Saturday). You could probably order it from http://www.rockinghorse.net/index.php or https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/ (It's cheap).
And you can hear one of the new songs on the myspace thingy. |
Today:
DCFC - The John Byrd EP Orange Goblin - Coupe De Grace |
Hey everyone, glad to be back... for now.
Anyway, I finally got the Nomeansno album Wrong in its entirety and it's really fucking good! Thanks again Zappa for introducing me :) |
