Wow, Im in shock.

Moses 07-14-2005 10:14 AM

I just got Deftones Adrenaline and I love it, especially the rap parts. My favorite song on the cd is probably Bored which kind of showcases Chino's talent.

Mr Herb 07-14-2005 10:38 AM

Deftones are ace. Have you got their white pony? get it, its their best effort and watch out for their next release soon

deadohiosky9 07-14-2005 10:42 AM

I love Deftones.

Moses 07-14-2005 10:53 AM

Yeah I've got it and I heard all the other ones, Adrenaline is a little bit more raw and less experimental. I like White Pony better because it's their masterpiece but for a little somthing different Adrenaline fits my needs.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-14-2005 11:03 AM

Deftones appreciation pleases me.

Im slowly working out a set of bands that fit in a "If you like tool, no doubt you like..." group.

So far i see this as

Deftones
Opeth
Dream Theatre
APC

Rothmans 07-14-2005 11:05 AM

The similarity between Deftones and Tool is the ambience.

Add NIN to that list.

Uh oh, Jude just bashed NIN in a thread on the first page of the forum!!

I love almost all of them, I find alot of the guitarist's riffs and his tone to be really original. Listen to the Passenger though, its a great song in my opinion.

Ft. Maynard.

Magicaltroll 07-14-2005 11:34 AM

Correct.

BlindWriting 07-14-2005 11:34 AM

The Deftones are great. So is Team Sleep, Chino's other band. I saw them live a couple weeks ago, and made a lost, forgotten thread about it. I'll post my little live review.
I just got back from seeing Team Sleep. Amazing, amazing show. There was so much presence and atmosphere, and all the members, especially the drummer, sounded unbelievablely good. He soloed at the end of every song, and was just incredible throughout the whole concert. Chino did a bit of freestyle rapping two or three times, in between songs.

Because the club that the show took place in is a fairly small, sort of grungy place, the band left the building by going through the audience, so that naturally got quite a bit of attention. I gave the rock sign (\m/  \m/) to Chino, and he just sort of smiled and nodded in response. I shook the lead guitarist's hand and just said, "Awesome." Same for the drummer, who stayed for a bit after the rest of the band left and soloed for a minute or two.

Afterwards, I got two guitar picks, one of Chino's, and one from the lead guitarist. I talked to one of the roadies for a bit, and I also swiped a promo poster that was lying on the floor.

Great, great show. If you get the chance, see them, because Chino's eventually going back to work with the Deftones.
Good times.

I caught them at download, and they did a great job of winning over half the audience. The other half were dumb metalcore people expecting a suprise deftones show.

Their drummer does go a bit too mental at times, kinda ruins the mood

Pink Floyd as well, or atleast, usually.

How could I forget?

clearvision 07-14-2005 11:43 AM

In absentia is a strange experience for me. The music is good, but i can't sit through the whole album. Though i can with deadwing + lightbulb sun. Signify is a bit meh also...

Magicaltroll 07-14-2005 11:47 AM

I like their jam-mier albums alot more.
I like In Absentia also though, I have to get Deadwing though.

Goddamit, give me a chance to jump on that wagon before I put it up!

Financial and memory restraints has stopped me so far
