I hope he gets hit by a truck

That's a bit harsh.

I don't think he's the greatest, but still. I really like the intro to why'd you lie.

But seriously we need to keep this thread as spam free as possible, so it doesn't get closed.

It would help if you refrained from ridiculing me because of my lack of concerts

BludgeonySteve 11-07-2004 11:23 AM

JPJ makes 90% of the spam. Maybe you should just cool it for a while. Post elsewhere if you feel the need to be an idiot.

Colin James is great. He did a studio session at the local classic rock radio station. He's awesome

wanton 11-07-2004 11:26 AM

Tiran Porter = great bassist

Wow =p. Wish I had been in on that one. Suprised The Who "won". Must have evened the teams up rather nicely. Also curious as to why there was even any doubt as to who was a better live band =p.

And I'm also not a real big fan of Colin James...

Woodstock 11-07-2004 01:57 PM

At the record show, I got:
(all on CD)

Allman Brothers-Eat A Peach
Hendrix-Band of Gypsys
Grateful Dead-Skeletons in the Closet

So far, Allman Brothers kickass

Just curious...but how are you suprised that The Who won. They could win anything...they are bloody amazing!

Liva at The Fillmore if you don't have it already.

The Hendrix one I got has Machine Gun and a very catchy song called Changes.

jpj 11-07-2004 03:57 PM

Mine has Machine Gun, but no Changes.

Yes, I know about that one. What about studio albums?

I think their s/t is very good.

lunch998 11-07-2004 04:09 PM

Yea I guess get the s/t. I got no new CDs, but JPJ got Live AT Berkely so I'm happy. By the way, how is Dylan and the Dead?

yes! Live at the Fillmore is amazing...one of the best live albums behind Live at Leeds and Made in Japan

I love how they made Live at the Fillmore and Live at Leeds into 2-Disc deluxe sets. Even though they cost more, you get so much more material and better sound quality. On Live at Leeds, you get the whole Tommy part. On Live at the Fillmore, there are more songs and then a few songs from Eat A Peach, namely Mountain Jam.

It's awesome! It has one of the best versions of All along The Watch Tower IMO. Since I got Live at Berkeley I want you to get this.

Badmoon 11-07-2004 05:27 PM

We should make a top 5 or 1o live classic rock album list.

drugstore cowboy 11-07-2004 05:38 PM
Just curious...but how are you suprised that The Who won. They could win anything...they are bloody amazing!
Yeah, I know, and I totally agree they should have won. I'm just suprised that they won over Led Zeppelin, the quinessential classic rock band...That's why I said there must have been a good group of people in that debate, not just "Led Zeppelin Rules!" typle folk...

The Live at Leeds record at Abbey Road records downtown has all of six songs on it...It's crazy how they went from that, to releasing it with everything, including a full performance of Tommy. I so want to get it...

That sounds like fun. The Allmans Live at the Fillmore would definitly be on that.

I agree with jpj

BludgeonySteve 11-07-2004 05:49 PM

I'm skeptical that Betts could play the pentetonic scale for 34 minutes and still keep it interesting.

(ZING)

Ruth 11-07-2004 05:49 PM
no such thing as overrated bands
Except for New Kids on the Block and Bay City Rollers, I agree with you.

BludgeonySteve 11-07-2004 05:53 PM

Hahaha^.

There is no such thing as an overrated band. People who think that their opinion is greater than a million other people's are moronic.

By the way, Ruth, you're famous around here now. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5379561&posted=1#post5379561

He gets a break because of that kickass drum section. I love that part.
