sounds good

have you heard The Young Gods before?

Jaundice 01-15-2010 12:33 AM

nah can't say i have

Meatplow 01-15-2010 12:36 AM

their self titled is pretty good

apparently influential, though i've never heard of them before

Jaundice 01-15-2010 12:37 AM

i'll look them up

i almost think of starting my own blog

Nepenthe 01-15-2010 12:40 AM

i have that thought occasionally as well and then im like nahhh **** other people they can find their own music

Meatplow 01-15-2010 12:43 AM

I thought that at first as well, then I realised if I ever lose all my music and my original sources for all this **** disappear i've got a backup source on some of the harder to find stuff i've come across

Jaundice 01-15-2010 11:06 AM

Txus 01-15-2010 11:12 AM

I've been listening to Arvo Pärt most of my morning, great way to start the day.

Jaundice 01-15-2010 11:15 AM

havent listened to anything yet today, playing around with a pink and yellow song though and attempting to get ideas for a remix

Ventriloquist 01-15-2010 05:41 PM

Omg guys I'm going to see Ulver on 10th of Feb. Booking my tickets tonight! I was so excited after finding out about this gig I had to share it. Any of you guys seen them live before?

Txus 01-15-2010 05:58 PM

Like I told you yesterday while chating, I've only seen Garm DJ'ing, I would kill to see Ulver live.

Nepenthe 01-15-2010 06:06 PM

as would i. might have to kill someone one of these days to do it.

Ventriloquist 01-15-2010 06:07 PM

kill someone for moneh and buy plane tickets.

Nepenthe 01-15-2010 06:09 PM

Txus 01-15-2010 06:10 PM

Ventriloquist 01-15-2010 06:11 PM

 I guess I can die happy after I see Ulver. But then I'll miss the Eyehategod gig on March :(

Txus 01-15-2010 06:13 PM

I'm seeing Eyehategood in some months

with other like 30 great bands :p

Nepenthe 01-15-2010 06:16 PM

ugh i dont have a single show planned for this year yet i need to see if anything good is coming down here

Ventriloquist 01-15-2010 06:16 PM

A band called FUK is supporting Eyehategod. I wonder who is supporting Ulver. It says Ulver + Very Special Guests. I've been to like 10 gigs this year (well this academic year lets say). Got Eyehategod, Oceansize, Mastodon, Katatonia and Ulver planned.

Nepenthe 01-15-2010 06:17 PM

PENULTIMATE CATFIGHT ON A HOTDFOG RELEASE COMES OUT TODAY.

Be alert, not alarmed.

Meatplow 01-16-2010 05:27 AM

there is a reference to "crab people" on this Burroughs recording, I wonder if this influenced that South Park episode in any fashion

I know it's accidental, but I actually really like the audio to this. It's addictive to listen to.

Meatplow 01-16-2010 07:08 PM

let me know what you think

Mr Kite 01-16-2010 07:36 PM

Ministry and Skinny Puppy are classics. Foetus has some solid stuff. A friend recently turned me on to Post Death Soundtrack out of Vancouver. Been listening to them a lot lately. Also, The Eyes of Stanley Payne album by Download is unstoppable.

ps: Checked out Skinny Puppy live in November and it was amazing

Meatplow 01-16-2010 07:40 PM

Yeah, i've been revisiting The Land of Rape and Honey, The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste and Psalm 69 a lot lately, they still rank amongst my favourite industrial releases. My love for Foetus is well d0cumented lol.

Haven't heard those other two bands but i'll check them out, welcome to the forums.

FatalEnergy 01-16-2010 07:58 PM

I love Ministry's mid 80s to mid 90s stuff, but Skinny Puppy really hasn't done much for me. I do believe I should give them another chance though.

Meatplow 01-16-2010 08:00 PM

You aren't alone on that, even now after having listened to quite a lot of their stuff i'm still struggling with them.

Rabies was probably my favourite release.

Jaundice 01-16-2010 08:17 PM

I really do like Too Dark Park.
