I really like it when Hetfield sing the solo in MOP.

xtreme_skatah 03-09-2004 06:45 PM

What does Hetfield sing in the solo? Never been to a Metallica concert so I don't know anything they do.

BludgeonySteve 03-09-2004 06:51 PM
I really like it when Hetfield sing the solo in MOP.
Which solo? The first one which is beautiful and well time or the second one which is a fast piece of crap and is completely unnecessary? The first one right?

vegiemaster 03-09-2004 07:52 PM

I have a Metallica question. What does the S & M stand for on their live cd? Personally I think it stands for San Francisco Symphony Orchestra & Metallica, but my youth pastor thinks it stands for sadomasochism I realize that it is abreviate like this but is that something that was done intentionally? Does anyone have a way to prove or disprove either? Any facts would be nice, thanks. (Forgive me. I don't normally post this formally.)

Lionheart1827 03-09-2004 09:01 PM

he just does "ooooohhhs" singing along to the first interlude solo to MoP. it sounds great when he does it. he did it over the summer. :thumb:

S&M=Symphony & Metallica :thumb:

 Sadomasochism would have been a good title.

Yeah it's symphony and Metallica.

ydebing 03-10-2004 11:32 AM

I went to a metallica concert a few months ago, it was really asome. They played guitar solos in some st anger songs (frantic i think), it was like with the solo, the song was kinda perfect, have any of you heard that? and did you think about it?

vegiemaster 03-10-2004 05:27 PM

thx guys now i can tell him that i was told by "reliable sources" ;) what it ment :thumb:

DonMancini 03-10-2004 05:31 PM

Hey guys, I just learned that Metallica is coming here in October :D I'm so happy, can't wait to see them again. I hope I get floor tickets.

Burdcheese 03-12-2004 10:49 AM

--Bump--

Wow - played Dyers Eve twice now - think its going to become a "concert favourite"?

metallicaman21 03-12-2004 11:27 AM

I am goin to thier concert on March 30th... they are my favorite band.. i cant wait

RareMana 03-12-2004 03:39 PM

i'm goin on the 26th. Its gonna be a gong show.

presa_tito 03-12-2004 04:07 PM

I don't feel like reading all the posts in this thread, so I'm wondering how iron maiden got into metallica. Anyway, I've always had this feeling that iron maiden was sort of the first band of its kind. I also think megadeth sounds quite a lot like them. So this makes me wonder if maiden was a big influence on megadeth. Megadeth to me sounds like a more modern maiden sound. I like it a little more, but they are both SWEET!

AHAHA! Iron Maiden got into METALLICA?! Metallica got into Iron Maiden.... Maiden had already released their 4. album by the time metallica released their first... Lars was a big fan of NWOBM, wich iron maiden at that time where leading.... hope i make my self clear....

extreme_191 03-12-2004 11:07 PM

It's good to see Blackened and Fight Fire With Fire being played in concert. But I agree with earlier posters, Four Horsemen would be sweet. Has anyone seen them perform Orion,To Live Is To Die,..And Justice For All, Frayed Ends Of Sanity, or Shortest Straw. For I haven't seen or heard of those tracks being played. I assume that those songs would be much more complex to perform than the others, excluding Battery, One,ect. but what do I know. Anyways, I'm seeing them in 2 weeks and I can't wait

Gernm18 03-14-2004 01:51 AM

yeah i wish they played to live is to die that'd be really interesting to see

Kirk's Puppet 03-14-2004 03:23 AM

Go to www.metmp3.com if you want some of their live mp3 bootlegs. Cliff's first show is available there, too.

You can hear James sing MoP's first solo in Roskilde's MoP.

Because dave from megadeth (guitar/vocals) came from Metallica maybe? ;)

Joeeddstealschickens 03-14-2004 06:29 AM

there was a live 4 horsemen on the Unnamed feeling EP a while back, wasn't there? I know they played that at their French shows last year.

When playing FFWF do they skip the intro. you know the melody thingy.
I would like to see To live is to die played live also. It would be so nice...

when_im_gone 03-14-2004 10:46 AM

Load, Reload

all right im sure im ging to get plenty of respnoses sayin they suck. But in my opinion ireally like those albums. Sure tehy are very differnet from their first 4 (they were amazing cd's) but loa d and reaload have their own magic tothem to me i get a old vintage roick n roll sound something we dont really ahve any more and yes i knkw the cds are old but i jsut got both like4 days ago and they really are good. Tell me your opinion?

slashjunior 03-14-2004 10:47 AM

Better than St Anger.

I liked the albums and I don't think they were selling out. Subpar Metallica though compared to the earlier albums but still good albums though.

ViperXX55 03-14-2004 10:49 AM

Yeah, theyre good albums.
Nothing near as good as Puppetz/Lightning/Justice, but theyre good for what they are.
Reload isnt as good as Load though....
St Anger however, is a pile of crap.

Berner 03-14-2004 10:50 AM

I liked em. They are what got me interested in Metallica and playing guitar.

thrashfanatic2010 03-14-2004 11:02 AM

they're not bad,but compared to st anger, load and reload look like master of puppets

slashjunior 03-14-2004 11:03 AM
they're not bad,but compared to st anger, load and reload look like master of puppets
Says someone with the words "Thrash" and "Frantic" in their name...:p

TomHimself 03-14-2004 11:08 AM

Fanatic! Not Frantic!

SlaveToTheGrind 03-14-2004 11:10 AM

his name is trashfanatic not trashfrantic
his name is trashfanatic not trashfrantic
Hehe. Sorry

SlaveToTheGrind 03-14-2004 11:21 AM

that's ok

TheUnavoidable 03-14-2004 11:21 AM

Load 0wnz. Fantastic album.

Reload doesn't own as much, but still has some fantastic songs on it.

when_im_gone 03-14-2004 11:24 AM

To me "Cure" on Load is bad azz song it has a real good intro i love it sounds really ol time classic roick with a metal make over sound lol (it sounded funny in my head)

davey 03-14-2004 11:25 AM

I liked them both. Not as good as st anger though....

Per Ardua Ad Astra 03-14-2004 11:26 AM

Load and ReLoad are both quality albums. Both albums have some great songs on them but then they have the songs that aren't too good to cancel off the good songs.

slashjunior 03-14-2004 11:28 AM
that's ok
Thanks man. I feel loved :)

hehe, I win you all :)

SlaveToTheGrind 03-14-2004 11:38 AM
