well search for the following on your ebay.........
sabian b8's zildjian zbt or zxt paiste pst 3 or pst 5 wuhan (any)
... well anyway ..... in going by it today and i think ill end up with a pst 5 well but it mostly depends on what they have in the shop..... thanks |
Ok here is going to be my new set up. Two main18' A (med. or projections not sure on that ) crashes. Then Z custon mega bell ride. 20' A crash ( not sure what type need help on that med. regualr. or projection.) and a 16' A crash. so what do u think idk about hats yet not thinking that far ahead.
If it's rock music, or a variant of rock, they would suit you perfectly. Z custom rides are very good (maybe look into 19" Trash Ride) and would be very cutting above the 20" Crash. I think it will be up to you wheether to go for Projections or Mediums. |
.....I KNOW THIS WILL SEEM STUPID BUT ALL THE SHOPS WERE CLOSED SO I DIDN'T BUY IT YET......................... well this leaves more time for a choice, has anyone got more suggestions?(the pst 3 and 5 arn't professional are they?)
|
no they arent.
the PST5 replaces the old 502's |
PST5: For the manufacture of PST 5 cymbals we use the same high-grade bronze alloy as in our professional class, which became famous through our 2002 series. The combination of this sonorous bronze with the new production method provides drummers with new sound dimensions, and due to the rich program, with numerous possibilities to design an individual cymbal set.
I' ve interpreted as a "these aren' t pro cymbals but they are made of good material" lets say semi-pro |
they arent semi-pro either
they are buget/beginner cymbals |
but i would prefer some pro cymbals, i was tented by zildjian k' s but I m not sure they are thick enough, by the way the most important question is ride or crash...... or maby a splash or china, whatever.I have a 16 crash and an 18 crash/ride cuold you tell me some dimensions too (thanks for all this help i know i sound annooying but this is the first cymbal i'm choosing and I want it perfect ;-) )
|
Best advice is to go out and try all the cymbals you can. I advise you to opt for a ride first because it is the most important cymbal.
|
and because if you dont get a ride first, Plan B. will snatch another one up
|
 yea I know but I have a crash/ride from pearl that can make the job and I prefer playing crashes rather than ride :upset: :upset: but........ I think I ll end up with a ride it is more important :( anyway, ive heard that the best rides are sabian...??? true?
|
I disagree saying a ride is the most important cymbal. I would have to say hi-hats.
Not true, it depends what you like. |
i' ment it is more important than another crash in my set
|
I found this on the internet: zildjian zbt rock pack(16crash,20ride14hat) + (dunno how to say it in english, the things that hold cymbals (hardware?))well 2 of those for 274 euro that is more or less 410£ or 280$

do you mean stands to put the cymbals on? and 274 euros = 186 pounds thats is a fairly good deal with stands included go for it:thumb: |

I could not live without my AC Mastersounds now. I would hate to use crap hi-hats again. Solars just clunk, have no defined chick and almost no sizzle at all. Hi-hats can be used to keep time which is essential in the early days of drumming. It's your own opinion of course, I disagree with it though. :p

boom stand>? |
Im looking for a nice pingy ride with little-to medium wash in the aa or aax lines. Also a peart sounding ride in the aa or aax line. Thanks..
|
AAX Dry Ride.
|
Are all rides of the same size in the aa and aax lines the same price?
|
Doubtful. The seller sets the prices.
|
The dry ride is a bit to dry. Any other suggestions?
|
try they AA dry ride, the bell is a tid bit bigger, and wouldnt be as dry because of it.
failing that, try and hunt out an AA Tight ride |
Are all rides of the same size in the aa and aax lines the same price?
yes. they should be |
Im thinking about the AA Rock Ride, AA/X Dry Ride and maybe and aa medium heavy ride.
|
and your ride cant keep time?
I was meaning using your foot, and working with any other cymbal. Of course all cymbals can keep time. |
right, i'm pretty set on getting wuhan hats and 16" crash, but should i get "s" series or "rock" to play a variety of indie to hardcore music, i know the "rock" name might give it away but i just wanted to get it right
thanks in advance |
definatly the rock, Wuhans are a little thin in their weights, so given your genres, Rock is for you
|
thanks man, the rock crash is cheaper anyways :)
|

i want a fairly heavy ride, that is very trashy, but with defined sticking, but with a continuous sound when played. but i dont want it to be overpowering. :) have fun
i was -thinking- custom K maybe? i dont really know lol |
A "trashy" ride? That's a tall order. Try a K Custom 20" ride (the generic model of the series).
|
Is there such thing as a "trashy" ride? Maybe try small copper plates around the edges? You could always look for a Sabian O-Zone ride (if they exist).
|
Aren't all Wuhans a little "trashy" sounding?
I kind of want a china. Have any of you played the Sabian Signature devastation chinese? |
Is there such thing as a "trashy" ride? Maybe try small copper plates around the edges? You could always look for a Sabian O-Zone ride (if they exist).
Nononononono. There is no "O-Zone ride" and "small copper plates around the edges" would be stupid. |
I'm looking for Hi hats with a nice chick while closed and a nice sizzle while opened...a ride with good stick definition, not a total ping, with just a slight about of "washyness" (doesn't need to crash)...and finally a crash with a relatively short decay and darker sound. Thanks...
|
Not sure about the hats, but I can recommend an AA Medium Ride (20") and a K Custom Fast crash (14-18").
