I don't think that it is a strat, but it is a cool guitar nonetheless (sp?).

KillTheEmo101 09-11-2005 08:55 AM

I gotta say Tom is sick when it comes to guitar. When i first started listenin to ratm i thought that there was some crazy *** effects until i tried playin some of their songs. then i realized that he is just really really really creative :p :p

Most of his stuff isn't really difficult, it just is original and makes the band better than it would have been without him.

KillTheEmo101 09-11-2005 09:12 AM

Yea i didnt really mean it as being hard stuff but just really out of the norm and creative... guess thats stuff you come up with when you play like 12 hours a day :D :D

anyway favorite album is the self-titled album

Oh, of course. The self titled is the best album of the 90s probably. What's your favorite track off of it?

KillTheEmo101 09-11-2005 09:25 AM

Hmmm its sort of a tie between know your enemy and bombtrack. But im not sayin that the other songs are bad, come on who can hate killing in the name of and township rebellion :)

Darkness 09-11-2005 10:56 AM

Glad to see some new people posting this thread... normally its only like 3 people. Including myself.

Audiopond 09-11-2005 11:04 AM

Well I have all their cds but never really got into em. The only song I like is guerrilla radio but they never really kept me listening.

A pig in a cage on antibiotics 09-13-2005 02:31 PM

How could you have all of their albums and not like them, i mean if you bought an album and didn't like it then the chances of you buyin another album by that band are prety slim, but if you did buy another by that band and liked say one track why would you go and buy yet another of their albums? just curious thats all :thumb:

by the way im a big RATM fan, i never got to see them live though :upset: :upset: :upset: :upset: i......like audioslave, but their nothin compared to RATM. Does anyone think RATM will ever get back together for a couple more gigs some time in the future?? i can see it happenin sometime in the next 5 years, anyone else think this too???

No.

Shaft! 09-13-2005 03:17 PM

I think you've missed the point as to why RATM broke up.

DuncMaster 09-13-2005 03:37 PM

Has anyone in this thread seen them live? I've saw Audioslave. Closest your gona get.

Fck, we need more RATM votes in the Ultimate Rock band poll. They're 3rd!

I know it won't happen but I keep the hope up. It's good to see somebody FINNALLY see my point of view. :thumb:

kevster49 09-13-2005 05:07 PM

Dyslexic Magician 09-13-2005 06:01 PM

Favorite Album: Self Titled and Evil Empire
Favorite Song:Know your Enemey. (the feeling I get when listening to it... wow)

RATM rocks. Favorite band, easily

dr._feelgood 09-15-2005 09:00 PM

Calm Like A Bomb is the best song to be listening to while you're walking down the street, anyone agree?

Darkness 09-15-2005 09:18 PM

I donno about that, but its a pretty damn good song. Bass intro +++

Is that the song with the bass intro off the first album? If so, you are right.

My favorite Rage songs would be "Know Your Enemy" "Vietnow" or "Bombtrack"

dr._feelgood 09-15-2005 09:29 PM

No, It's off Battle Of LA.

Do you know the song I'm talking about though? I think it would be a good street walkin' tune.

Darkness 09-15-2005 09:36 PM

You must be referring to Bullet In The Head.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-15-2005 09:57 PM

Man, I really need to pick of Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium already. Maybe it would reignite my love for RATM.

I'm listening to Evil Empire right now. I forgot how much it rocks.

That would be it.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-16-2005 08:37 AM

Calm Like A Bomb was always my favourite off BOLA.

Jake: I would probably rate the Grand Olympic Auditorium as their best DVD. Not only do you get the gig, but you also get the free show they did outside the republican convention (or something, I forget what it was called).

Democratic National Convention. Good video aswell. I like the self-titled DVD alot, good video footage from different periods in the Rage era.

wrathchild88 09-16-2005 08:49 AM

personally, I prefer the the Battle of Mexico DVD the best, purely because it sounds much better than Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium.

Mambuto_O'Mally 09-16-2005 06:03 PM

I agree. There's just alot more emotion, IMO. I get the feeling a little more, also they play a little bit of 'Township Rebellion" at the end of Freedom :thumb:!

Darkness 09-16-2005 06:15 PM

Yeah I love when that song kicks in on Freedom... adds some spice to the song. Sounds sweet live to.

Mambuto_O'Mally 09-18-2005 04:32 PM

I wish that they would have played the last chorus with all the harmonics as well, but they at least did part of the song so, I'm happy.

Yea, the live performance is better at Mexico City. The Township Rebellion bit was a nice little surprise, I wish they'd played it all, great solo, great song. :thumb:

I thought that the Grand Olympic performance of Freedom was the best because there weren't as many errors with equipment as there were in Mexico City.

Darkness 09-18-2005 04:44 PM

Not to mention it was the last time the song was played.

EVER.

Actually the last Rage song played live would be Know Your Enemy, because of the encore...

Thor 09-18-2005 05:01 PM

Well that's if you wan't to get technical about it. Didn't they also play People of the Sun in the encore as well?

Darkness 09-18-2005 05:02 PM

Yes, People then Enemy.

That concert was 5 days and 5 years ago today...

dr._feelgood 09-18-2005 08:02 PM

So what are the names of all the Live DVDs that Rage has released?

Darkness 09-18-2005 08:19 PM

Self Titled, Battle Of Mexico City, and Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium.

What errors? Is their problems, 'cause I didn't notice any?
