I completely forgot about that site. I had a nation long ago when the site wasn't as big. It has since been deleted. So I started a new one. :naughty:

Me got a nation too :amaze:

I'm more into the games where you kill other people...

Lately I've been playing America's Army, and Tribes 2.

Before that it was Jedi Knight3 and Medal of Honor:AA

Tribes 2 won't work for me anymore *sniff*.

Does anyone know if there's a way to connect some say...300-ish watt PAs to a computer? I'm thinking of getting one of them "box" computers, connecting a 30" TV i've got lying around, and then put them in this place where I've got a lot of room...Anyone got any ideas?

slappindabass 07-29-2004 10:28 PM

Hmm... my summer has been very uneventful. Other then going to Six Flags (a theme park) 2 days ago with a friend, absolutely nothing has happened. I have yet to see my ex-girlfriend who is a very good friend of mine now for a month, which is depressing me because I regret ending it with her and we want to be back together. I feel stupid for that mistake. I'm 15, too young to drive and my cousin just bought a new car. He's 18. What's depressing me about that is that he's always outside, chilling with his friends, out to the movies, and just having a good time. Whereas I'm literally home everyday staring at my bass, or playing it, or watching TV, or playing a video game. And I'm getting absolutley sick of it.

In case I made my cousin sound spoiled, he's not. He has a job, his car is being paid for out of his own salary.

Anyway, I feel like my life is a waste right now... without sounding Gothic. I never get to see my friends, always home... blah blah it goes on. I know it'll change when I start to drive but right now it's driving me crazy and it's worse when I think about it. Since you guys brought up games and stuff, I'll add this. I play Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings every now and then online. Today when I tried to play, it didn't work and that like ruined my day and I've been bored ever since. Also, I bought Socom 2 about a month ago, but I never play it. Waste of money.

Over my friend's house yesterday (the first time in a month I've seen him), we watched Saving Private Ryan and Reservoir Dogs, and then walked to Food Lion and bought crap and then ate food at Subway and walked back to his house and just chilled. Life's pretty uneventful as you can see, hopefully it'll get better.

Foxfire 07-29-2004 10:30 PM

Welcome to my world.

A lot of my friends are older and can drive and such so they're always hanging out. My friends my age are all on vacation somewhere...I get to stay home and do nothing...yay.

I'm not a great looking guy, so I don't think I'll find a girlfriend anytime soon...

Since I have nothing better to do I'm considering lifting in my spare time.

I'm just an average looking guy, and she was my 1st girlfriend. It only lasted a week and a half, one kiss started it off.

The thing is that life isn't as great for everyone as it may seem, but it gets better as you progress through it as far as I know. My neighborhood is so small, only 40 houses. No one to chill with but the guitarist in my ex-semi-band, but we've gotten sick of jamming and that's all we have in common: music. So when we set that aside because we got bored with it, there's nothing more to do so we don't even talk that much. The only thing I have to look forward to is a Dream Theater concert coming up only 20 miles away from here on the 25th of August. It'll be my first concert, and I'm looking forward to it.

Another thing I have to look forward to is moving. In 5 months we're moving to Leesburg (from Manassas). I'm sure I'll be better off there because the neighborhood is much bigger then the one we're in now. It's 350 houses, as opposed to 40 here. So I'm more likely to run into some people to chill with over there. I think I'll finally be relieved of eternal boredom over there and I love meeting new people so my life will have some sort of purpose once I move. By then I'll be 16, so I guess it'll only get better because then I'll start driving a few months after I move, and then I'll get me a better job then the crap I have now and get me some money and buy a piano and a guitar and an amp for it and maybe a new bass amp. Then I can start writing music, which will keep me busy in case I'm still bored over there. Hopefully, I'll be having more fun when I move. HOPEFULLY.

Foxfire 07-29-2004 10:41 PM

You know what's horrible???

...I live in a big city :upset:

I suppose I'll have to wait anyhow, I'm 13 and all. However, it's really disheartening because most of my friends are so content. I wish I could be like that. :upset:

slappindabass 07-29-2004 10:44 PM

What city?? Man get out, have fun. Manassas is a small country town. It's only recently started getting a little more urbanized thanks to booming business and stuff and stores getting built around. But I used to live in Queens, New York when I was 5, then I moved to Alexandria (20 min southeast of D.C.), then 2 years ago I moved to Manassas. Imagine moving from cities to this ****hole. It's miserable and depressing just looking at it. But you adjust to it, but never to the lifestyle.

slappindabass 07-29-2004 10:47 PM

You're only 13. 2 years ago when I was 13 and still in Alexandria, me and my friends were having the time of our lives. We'd be outside chilling everyday. What city are you in foxfire?

Foxfire 07-29-2004 10:50 PM

Chicago, IL.

It's horrible. I'm hoping it'll be more fun soon...both my parents have been at work so I've been stuck at home with my brother. I'm a maid, basically :p Except I get paid so I suppose it could be worse...

slappindabass 07-29-2004 10:56 PM

How old is your brother?

Foxfire 07-29-2004 10:57 PM

7...he has an eating disorder, we think, and *I* personally believe that he needs anger management. My parents don't feel he's old enough to be home alone, and, admittedly, I agree...he's THE laziest person ever.

Crapdragoon 07-29-2004 11:01 PM

Wow i woke up at 4pm today ... i was like 'wtf my day is gone' hahahah *pops a vicodin*

Wow, my 10 year old brother is exactly the same. He only eats fast food and my mom always cooks. The slightest thing will tick him off and he'll snap at you and go crazy and get so emotional that he'll even end up crying. Like I'll flick a tad of water at his face and laugh, no harm intended just a joke, and he'll call me an asshole and start crying and huffing and puffing and like attack me, punching and scratching. Also, he's lazy in that he leaves things lying around. He'll eat something and leave the dish there. He'll make a mess (which he always does) and let someone else clean it. He'll turn on a TV and a light and watch for 30 minutes, then walk out of the room without turning them off and he claims that he forgets. It happens almost everyday though. Well, he's an idiot but sometimes he can be okay.

Foxfire 07-29-2004 11:05 PM

^ That's probably an exact description of my brother.

The problem for me, though, is that I believe that I've had a minor case of depression since I was about 11 and I never really talked to anyone about it. So not only am I lonely but I have to deal with that too, and I can't say it's fun.

And I'm stuck in a rut bass wise, so that sucks too.

JadedBass 07-29-2004 11:05 PM

my ibanez slapping ability is dream like its really good tone over all though I think

Ruhtra 07-29-2004 11:07 PM

Man, I'm glad I'm an only child, I couldn't put up with that ****.

I have seasonal depression which means weather effects my mood. Cloudy, rainy, or snowy weather gets me so depressed that I don't feel like talking to anyone. Though lately it's started to wear off. I think that as you get older it wears off. I'm speaking about my own case, I don't know about you.

EDIT: Might I add I never talk to anyone about my case of it either. Most of my friends know me as the funny guy only because if I'm around the right people at the right time under the right circumstances, I can be my normal self which I believe is funny, happy, and always smiling. Although I rarely experience that side of myself it's the side that I'm known for among my friends, who are the "right people". My family (except for a few cousins) haven't experienced that side of me because family is not who you choose to be with, it's who you're forced to be with. I'm not saying that in a bad way it's just that you choose your friends, not your family. You can figure the concept out.

Foxfire 07-29-2004 11:14 PM

I actually think that it does get better, but I'm sure with high school it'll be worse again.
Example: when I was about 11, everyone at my school was convinced I was a rapist. I tried to kill myself a few times.

However, nowadays I mainly get depressed when I'm alone. I haven't seen many of many friends for a REALLY long time.

I'm a good looking guy, or so I've been told, and I have not even had one friend who is a girl.

As for life not being great. Amen. I think the people who keep telling me HS is the best time of my life are full of it. I can't wait for college to come around.

I can relate to the small town thing on a certain level. I live in a small town, but it's right in the middle of suburbia and right next to a large suburban city/town. But I don't leave this town much.

slappindabass 07-29-2004 11:18 PM

That's how I am too. I get depressed when there's bad weather and when I'm alone. Although I was with my best friend yesterday, and 2 days ago at Six Flags with him, that seems like a distant memory suddenly and I can barely recall it. Now suddenly I'm bored out of my mind once more.

Foxfire 07-29-2004 11:20 PM

Did you see my other post slappin?

And Ruhtra, yeah, I've been wondering about HS being the best time of life. I've known a few people who have killed themselves over high school, or gotten close to it, and it REALLY makes me wonder.

I hate HS and all, but I wouldn't go to the lengths of killing myself over it. Time goes on, things will get better. It's bad, but not quite THAT bad.

HS really is the best...cause very little of what you do in school really matters. College has a lot of work, while there will be lots of partying and such as well, but that partying cuts into homework and study time. It makes the whole thing very stressful.

I'd actually say HS+College = the best if you can get a lot of free time :thumb:

slappindabass 07-29-2004 11:32 PM

I don't see anything wrong with highschool. I love my friends, they're great people. The only problem is that outside of school I rarely see them. There's always bullies and stuff but no one messes with me because I don't mess with anyone. And they wouldn't mess with me because (not to brag) I'll fight back. I get ticked off easily, even though most of the time I contain myself and try not to let it show, and so if someone is trying to start something with me I'll really get into it and get them to shut up and leave, or we'd settle it I suppose. But I've never had an actual fist fight, but I've come close to one; my friends told the other guy off. Besides schoolwork, highschool isn't bad. It's not necassarily fun if you don't get to see your friends outside of it, but you can't blame that on highschool.

Ruhtra 07-29-2004 11:36 PM

IMO, HS is the biggest wasteland of idiots I have ever been in. I don't see how this is the best time of my life. Workload has nothing to do with the experience to me, if the people suck, the time sucks.

slappindabass 07-29-2004 11:38 PM

This is interesting, I'm enjoying this talk. Great thread.

If you're wondering what High School is like, don't worry...

here is the only advice you'll need in surviving high school:
On the first day of school find the one of the biggest and meanest bullies..

and beat the living **** out of him.. after that everyone will give you respect and the dignity you deserve.

Just remember--go in swinging :thumb:

slappindabass 07-29-2004 11:44 PM

^^^ Jammin, not very good advice, unless you're joking. The last thing you want to do is get into a fight.

Crapdragoon 07-29-2004 11:44 PM

Heh i got into a fight during 10th grade , i got suspened for 3 days, wich gave me a 5 day weekend, and i got lots of respect for knocking a tooth out of a moron , ahhhh how great is that :o

My best friend and another friend of mine are really the only ones I really care about.

At my school, there are generally 2 kinds of people (and yes there are exceptions, I am one :D): Drunks and Stoners. A lot fo the girls are... well... :naughty: Go figure...

Foxfire 07-29-2004 11:46 PM

I'm sure I won't have any problems with bullies.

I'm hoping to get into varsity Lacrosse next year, and one of my friends has got connections, so I'm sure I'll be fine.

Ruhtra 07-29-2004 11:49 PM

I don't need to get into fights to get respect at my school. I'm one of the smartest people in my class, guess who they go to for answers. :naughty: Not just that, but when the floor hockey unit in gym comes along, every one KNOWS who is the best player. That would be me. :thumb:

123... or both. But I live in a small *** town with nothing to do, so that's really the only thing to do.

And yes I was joking about my previous post.... High school is overrated, it's exactly like middle school with some more freedom. I'm just glad I'm out of there and going to James madison University in august!! :D

Foxfire 07-29-2004 11:53 PM

You know, up until LightRaven said you had to play Double Bass if you wanted to play bass at a Music School, I sort of wanted to go to Berklee :p
