You'd be correct.

It's alot of fun
Have you been in it? I personally haven't but by best friend said it was awesome.

Brew 04-23-2005 03:16 PM

Dude, I'm going to see them for the 3rd time.

Therefore:

I've been in the Spit it Out pit twice before.

Both times I've been in a place where the people couldn't really be arsed doing much, at Download I'm aiming to be near the middle of the pit.

yeah i was a part of that, good thing i was drunk, otherwise I might have feared for my life, people were going insane

Moses 05-04-2005 09:08 PM

I saw Slip at Ozzfest last year and they killed the stage.

stonesour-is-awesome 05-05-2005 07:34 AM

Im definetly going to disagree with that. Corey is what makes the band unique with his style of singing and just his voice. I think their new cd is just as good as the others if not better in some areas. Stone Sour is excellent also with coreys unique style.

The JoZ 05-05-2005 09:22 AM

I read a while back that Paul had to miss a few gigs cause he was hospitalized...one of the fansites, can't remember which, said that some members of the other bands filled in for him, but didn't say who, or on what songs. Anyone know anything about this?

My brother just saw them in denver and said paul was gone and the band played a backing track for him, I also here there coming back on tour but with corey going to see the doctor I have my doubts.

Sleeper 05-07-2005 08:14 PM

Whats wrong with corey?

Thor 05-07-2005 08:20 PM
Whats wrong with corey?
The only thing wrong with Corey Taylor nowadays is that he cannot scream as well as he used to. It sounds really high pitched compared to the screams he used to do back in Slipknot and Iowa, and that sort of annoys me at times.

relliK 05-07-2005 08:58 PM

Well, to answer Remedy's question he has throat problems.

FieldyPaulfan 05-08-2005 04:10 PM
Whats wrong with corey?
The band had to cancel a show in Utah because of doctors orders.

Huber 05-08-2005 04:15 PM

I think Corey's voice is still awesome, but it makes the old songs sound worse. Maybe the doctor can get Corey's old scream back? Heh, that'd be pretty cool.

The JoZ 05-08-2005 04:24 PM

I really don't see a problem with Corey's voice now, I think it still sounds pretty good, even if he doesn't sound exactly like he used to pre Volume 3.

grungeleftovers 05-08-2005 04:38 PM

this will probally happen to a lot of death metal and nue metal bands as they get older i know its sad but thats what happens when you scream for a living

panthersfan16 05-08-2005 04:58 PM

Anyone know of any metal bands that can compete with Slipknot. Im not trying to replace them, i just need some fresh stuff...killswitch and shadows fall cant do the job

Mushroomhead.
Same idea as Slipknot (right down to masks/matching jumpsuits), just more melodic/symphonic.

Or...you could try Nile. Loud, fast, hard...freaking amazing.

Lamb of God should do the trick.

And on another note, does anyone else think that Vermilion Pt. 2 is a good song? I just listened to it again and am really jealous of Corey's vocal ability. What are your thoughts?

IMO, thats probably one of the best acoustic songs ive ever heard.
I love singing along to that...when nobody's looking, of course ;)

I'm not trying to brag or anything, but Corey's clean voice seems to be able to be replicated very easily...by me, i think.

Hes got a great voice, just not a very original one...

Yeah it is a great song, I would've never figured Slipknot to write something like that

Mr. Hankie 05-10-2005 10:11 AM

Who is the genius behind Vermillion?

King_Karl 05-10-2005 10:21 AM

Corey writes lyrics and the band write the music so i guess it's a collective effort.

Mr. Hankie 05-10-2005 10:28 AM

Do you know more detail?

Hey...Frank? If it isn't you just disregard this.

I can give you some CDs that I think you'll like, I can show you them first on my iPod or something.

That song is probably one of the most moving songs I've ever heard. It's just so saddened. Its great. The "I dont know what to doooooo...." part makes me feel like I elevate up when I listen to it high. Its a trip.

Sleeper 05-11-2005 11:11 AM

Are you talking about vermillion pt 2?

TheSubtleArts 05-11-2005 03:55 PM

I heard that Jim wrote both Circle and Vermillion Pt.2 guitar parts while on the Iowa tour.

Anybody see the new video for "Before I Forget"?
Its my favorite video of their's, even though its very simple. And yes............
THEY TOOK THEIR MASKS OFF!!!
Don't get to mad. Their faces weren't entirely shown at once. Just parts of their mouth or eyes, or somewhere in that area. I wouldn't really call that selling out, but I know many of you will(I really think the masks are stuipid anyway, but they are obliged to keep them on).
Go to www.launch.com, and check out the new video.

Huber 05-11-2005 09:47 PM

It's not selling out. Just goes to show you they'll do what they want, even if it means taking there precious masks off. They'll go from straight up teen angst nu-metal, to mature musicians who can write great metal music if they want, and they'll go from masks on to masks off if they want. Hell, they'll even make a record of random brutalities and sneek a few mutters of "666" in there.

I saw this coming. I'm pleased too.

No offense, but try listening to something that is actually heavy. Try Nile, Vader, Amon Amarth, Morbid Angel, Death, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, or Cryptopsy.. those ought to do the trick.

I know the guy, he wont like any of those bands, except maybe Death.

You know, alot of people talk about how Slipknot 'aren't heavy'...but you gotta realize, you can't compare Slipknot to any of the bands you listed. Slipknot are not death metal, they are just metal.

Compared to said bands, Slipknot isn't heavy. But to say they aren't 'actually heavy' is quite the ignorant thing to say.
