A couple pages.... :p
I went further back, and didn't see any uploads though. |
I would upload some songs, but again I reference my junky wireless.
|
There was a link to a website where you could download mp3s of the band...
For the dude who wanted power metal: Nightwish Starter albums: Once (if you're not into the whole thing yet), or Wishmaster. |
In 48 hours, Wuthering Heights will be up in the new spotlight as well. Let's hope I can get my modem working by then so I can give you all the uploads.
awesome, I'm looking forward to this FA :) I was wondering whether Johansson's accent is annoying to the many. I mean, english is not my primary language, so weird english accents normally dont bother me. However, I do have problem with weird greek accents :p. Steerpike, I know it doesnt bother you but what do other english speakers think?
A couple pages.... :p I went further back, and didn't see any uploads though.
you'll find many tacks on their official site :) www.sabaton.net These guys are gonna be big some day... |

I'll see if I can track it down.
awesome, I'm looking forward to this FA :) I was wondering whether Johansson's accent is annoying to the many. Steerpike, I know it doesnt bother you but what do other english speakers think?
I actually like accents. It usually gives the music an added color. Glenn Danzig, Rolf Kasparek, Timo Kotipelto, Tarja Turunen, Nils Johansson, Joakim Broden... They all let their accents slip into their singing and it always sounds awesome. I really don't see any reason why people wouldn't like it.
you'll find many tacks on their official site :)
Well, worst-case scenario... |
Even though it's not power metal, i like Mikael Stanne's (sp?) accent on a few Dark Tranquillity tracks. It adds to the music.
huh? what do you mean?
By the way have you heard anything off Fist for Fight?
I meant if we can't get any uploads up. It was supposed to be a joke, albeit one that fell flat on its face... Anyway, all I've heard is stuff off of Primo Victoria. |
Ok. Sabaton. I like them overall, the guitar work is impressive. I'm not to fond of the vocals, it reminds me of HammerFall a tad. They're good though. I like the guitar work in Thundergods.
|
Hammerfall? I always thought of Joakim Broden as more like a Swedish version of Lemmy, than another version of Joacim Cans, but okay...
|
I must buy Primo Victoria, forgot to look for it the last time I went down town. Maybe I'll upload something off First for Fight later. I bought it along with Slough Feg's Traveller (my first SF album). Both were incredible discoveries and they're two of my favourite bands.
NP Sabaton - Primo Victoria
Hammerfall? I always thought of Joakim Broden as more like a Swedish version of Lemmy, than another version of Joacim Cans, but okay...
he's in no way close to the guy from hammerfall  |
Slough Feg is by far THE weirdest band i have ever listened to...
I could never really get into Sabaton...like Leah said, something about the vocals just made me not like this band. |
Slough Feg is by far THE weirdest band i have ever listened to...
I could never really get into Sabaton...like Leah said, something about the vocals just made me not like this band.
I think I got into them thanks to the vocals. They add balls to the music (=not typical cheesy sounding power), if you know what I mean. |
The vocals are appropriate to the lyrical subjects. They give it a coarse edge, while still maintaining a belting theatrical tone that adds to the Wagner-ian feel of the songwriting.

Something about the way the music is reminded me of HammerFall. I don't know, it's just me. |

yeah this is what I meant. I can write like this when I have plenty of time  |
I suck at writing lyrics...
More suited to writing music. |
lyrics and music I could write though music I cannot play.
/when did this syntax come from? |
I looked that word up on dictionary.com, and I'm STILL not completely sure what it means...
Something about the order of a sentence... |
haha, I know what syntax is (it's a greek word). The order of the words in the sentence "lyrics and music I could write though music I cannot play" just seemed weird to me :p
|
Ah...
Sentence sounded fine to me...had a bit of an ethnic flair, if you catch my drift. |
lyrics and music I could write though music I cannot play.
/when did this syntax come from?
I think that sentence structure was fine, if a little under-used in the early 21st century. Very english, if you don't mind me saying so. |
Reminds me of things I've been known to say, actually.
|
*blushes*
it just came out naturally... /now I know where I was living in my previous life |
Reminds me of things I've been known to say, actually.
Well, I think you are actually part English, Steerpike old chap! :) |
I was just saying a similar thing about Alex in the comm. thread, odd eh?
I have been listening to all the edguy that he posted and I really like them, so much so that when I get payed tomorrow I will order hellfire club. and MF- I was talking about something that only shadow-stalker would know about yesterday about band practice arrangements- sorry on that subject, if he reads this Louie and I are coming down to comrades at 12 tomorrow anyway and I will try to call him tomorrow... |
Do you think he'd be upset if we made him an honorary englishman?
|
no, I think he would love it as he would love to live in a europian country :D
|
Sorry for taking so long on this, but I have been really busy lately.
I'm currently uploading the new Helloween song to YSI...It's taking its time :upset: |
no, I think he would love it as he would love to live in a europian country :D
OK, all those englishmen who are in favour of making Steerpike an honorary englishman (with dual-nationality of course) say "I" "I" |
Well what do you know? It's done.
Helloween - Mrs.God Well there you have it. |
haha, "I"
I'm currently uploading the new Helloween song to YSI...It's taking its time
This album had better be equal to the 80s keepers otherwise its title will be blasphemy. |

"I"
I we can also bestow a knighthood on him... |
I
we can also bestow a knighthood on him...
Or make him a lord - which sounds better "Sir Steerpike", or "Lord Alex of Steerpike"? |
This album had better be equal to the 80s keepers otherwise its title will be blasphemy.
It does not compare to the original keepers. At least this song. Check it out, make your own opinion. Mine is: I like the song, it think it's the "catchy" song off the cd. But I don't like that the album is called Keeper Of The Seven Keys: The Legacy, seems...inappropiate. |

the latter would be better, I would be honoured to have him at the same rank of nobility as myself |

Alas, I am but an untitled plebian, but my family does go back a long way; to the dawn of mankind in fact, something of which I'm very proud. It's not everyone that can say that :D |
there you go guys, I upoload these songs on megaupload and not on YSI so that Steerpike can download them too.
Thunderstorm. The song that got me into Sabaton http://www.megaupload.com/?d=369GRTP4 Gene-ocide. The song that got me into Slough Feg http://www.megaupload.com/?d=36S18890 I discovered both bands on the same day, one after another! |
