Yeah, I remember the first time I heard those 4 notes kick in. That song has to have one of the best build ups ever.

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-19-2006 08:17 PM
I can honestly say I know how to play the entire song, good thing it's so awesome. :D

I was listening to SOYCD earlier today. It's still an amazing song, but I wish I could hear it for the first time again. It was crazy not knowing what was going to happen next.
I know this feeling. I wish I could hear Animals for the first time again, because after that I was obsessed with that album for probably a month straight.

Yeah, I think we've all been through that phase at one time or another. Animals is incredible, I remember hearing Pigs for the first time and being blown away.

Riva 02-20-2006 01:59 AM

Hehe, my girlfriend loves Dogs more than any other Pink Floyd song, except for See Emily Play.

Oh yeah, I have the coolest girlfriend ever.

My last girlfriend listened to emo.

I hate you so much.

MidnightRider 02-20-2006 09:35 PM

My last girlfriend was a huge Beatles fan, that was pretty cool.

I picked up Relics today, only 5 bucks too. My Floyd collection is nearly complete.

Yeah, I think that, Let There be More Light, and the last 2 minutes of the title track are the best ones. Jugband is good too. And Corporal Clegg. Oh, hell, they're all birlliant! :chug:

n00bguitarist 02-21-2006 04:24 PM

I personally think Atom Heart Mother is a better album than Meddle. AHM is currently my favorite album, and AHM Suite being my favorite song.

magicbus 02-21-2006 04:53 PM

I listened to AHM the other day, hoping another chance would raise my opinion of it. However I still think it's a pretty mediocre album. The only song I like enough to listen to is the title track, and I don't even really like that one very much. The orchestra and choir ruin it for me, Floyd is supposed to be simple. And the chanting they do sounds rediculous. I listened to the guitar solo-ey part in the middle, and even that was worse than I remembered.

The only part I like is the main riff they play at the beginning.

You are such a lucky bastard, having a girlfriend that actually has a good taste in PF music.

Britton 02-21-2006 05:57 PM

It's cool when you meet girls that have similer intrest in music.

Dog's is awesome

Riva 02-22-2006 06:38 AM

I do quite like AHM. Fat Old Sun is my favourite, I think.

seerofgoodpeople 02-23-2006 12:10 AM

dudes I am listening to the gnome at the moment and i just realized,it just dont get any better than that.i mean im usually more of a wywh kinda guy but lately i've been really into patgod, and the gnome especially(its my happy-song).sorry off topic

Riva 02-23-2006 02:23 AM

The Gnome is good, but I really prefer others from PATGOD like Bike, Interstellar Overdrive and Pow R Toc H.

Leper 02-23-2006 02:56 AM
Yeah, I think we've all been through that phase at one time or another. Animals is incredible, I remember hearing Pigs for the first time and being blown away.
Surprisingly, I really wasn't all that impressed with Animals the first time I heard it. But the second time I was like "what the hell was I listening to the first time??"

I still don't like Atom Heart Mother, no matter how many times I listen to it though. Alan's Psychadelic Breakfast really bothers me.

seerofgoodpeople 02-23-2006 07:17 AM

i think it was astronomy domine, thats another good one

Dragon_Prince 02-23-2006 01:35 PM

So, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason are going to perform here somewhere(says the newspaper) but no Gilmour :(

Imho 02-23-2006 01:46 PM

AH! My dreams have come true, I can finally watch Roger Waters live. I live in Norway, so this isn't a chance witch comes arround very often. He's performing the whole "Dark siden of the moon" by himself the 7. of june. :chug: :chug: God I'm happy :)

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-23-2006 01:50 PM

I'm trying to listen to some pre-PatGoD singles. Is there anything I should listen to besides Arnold Layne, See Emily Play, Apples and Oranges, Candy and a Currant Bun, and Paint Box?

By the way, I still haven't listened to Animals, even though I have Piper, Saucerful, Atom Heart, Meddle, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall.

standard 02-23-2006 01:55 PM

I like this whole deal. If they're all performing, then theres a very good chance they suddenly deicde to tour TOGETHER.

MidnightRider 02-23-2006 02:22 PM

Eh, I don't think they'll ever tour together again. It would be sweet though.
I still don't like Atom Heart Mother, no matter how many times I listen to it though.
I love AHM, it is sort of different though.

seerofgoodpeople 02-23-2006 03:34 PM

yea but knowing my luck they would play everywhere that i couldnt get to.
