Are there any Toasters fans out there? If so, what's your favorite album? I bought there Best Of cd a ways back, and I'm looking to buy another one but I'm not sure which one. Opinions anyone?

On a different note, is anyone here going to Midwest Ska Fest 2005?

Listening to Skylar. Everyone else should. They were blatantly amazing the other night. Everyone come and see them at Christmas either in Southampton or Clapham. Please. :p

Catch 22 is having a Christmas show here on the 27th so I'll get to see them, and Big D is opening for them so after missing them twice this year, I'll finally get a chance to see them as well. Hopefully my radio station can score free tickets to the show for me.

Free tickets are always nice. My job as editor for a local paper could have scored me Hatebreed tickets (one of the opening bands, Most Precious Blood, wanted coverage.) Of course... that implies I had any interest seeing Metalcore bands...


My friend took a video at karaoke Monday night where 8 people jumped on stage during "The Impression that I Get" that I'll post when she sends it to me.

Anyone got some Go Jimmy Go I could nab from them on AIM? They just announced a show with them and the Toasters coming by in Hartford in Jan. and I'd like to hear something by them.

Yeah man gotta love free tickets! I am on the Victory Records street team now & I go down to the offices every couple weeks or so, the guy who runs the deal seems really nice & said he'd start guestlisting me for things - so I should hopefully get the next Streetlight tour free!

I talked to Chris after the show today, & he said "Hey haven't I seen you at like 5 or 6 other shows?" So I said yeah and he apologised for me having to watch the same set 6 times, I said "No please come back and play it 6 more times!" & him & Tomas both laughed & Tomas was like "No way!" :upset: I would love them to play that again, haha.
But I got Chris to sign his drumstick, & Tomas to sign my BOTAR. Which is awesome!
My friend manages this band who supported Streetlight twice in the North this time around, I wish I could've gone to those dates as well! But I couldn't afford the time/money to travel.
I was hanging out at the show tonight, & on the train home, with a guy who's seen Streetlight 15 times! Including their first ever show. He's from NY Uni but he's over here for a semester. Well actually I kind of met him/his friend at the Underworld show, but I met him again tonight.


I have been listening to loads of Satori since this dude sent me their stuff yesterday, they're awesome!!!!! Like an American Skylar, it's AWESOME! Haha, no coincidence I expect though, that Howards Alias started a similar side project as Rx Bandits, at a similar time.

I've heard some good things about the OC Supertones. I'm really familiar with them. Does anyone here heard them, if so, what's you're opinion on them?

milk2sugars aren't really my kind of thing, but Matty Pee is just awesome at web design the guy runs circles around anything I could ever do :eek:

OC Supertones are cool, yeah I really like some of their stuff. Some of it just makes me feel weird though, listening to them sing about religion and stuff. Also some of the rap parts I don't like so much.

I just saw Antimaniax tonight, I saw them with Streetlight on Wednesday but the sound went wrong. I missed half their set tonight cus I was in the bar :upset: but they were awesome awesome awesome. Also I saw Crack Rock Steady 7 and they played Leftover Crack & Choking Victim covers which were the sex.

Hmmm.. I don't like the Supertones anymore. They only had a few good songs.

They have 1 amazing album spread out over 5 releases.

Grrr... I don't know whether or not to be mad... So im going to Ohio for X-Mas and have the choice to visit family in Chicago or just come home... If i go to Chicago i can see Mustard Plug (a band which i've never seen before live) or i could come home and see Catch 22 and Big D and the Kids Table and a few other less known ska bands (and i say less known cause i've never heard of them)... Well i've seen Catch 22 and Big D before and they both are amazing live so im a little worried i'd be dissapointed if i went and saw Mustard Plug and it wasnt that good... Has anyone here been to a Mustard Plug show? Is it worth going and seeing?

Hmmm tough call. I've seen Mustard Plug, they were fun live, don't like them recorded though. So I guess that's pretty impressive. But I think Big D are awesome live (don't know about Catch 22), and that show sounds like fun because it's all ska bands, as opposed to the Mustard Plug one which appears as if they are the only ska band.

If you really like Mustard Plug's music, I'd say see them, it's always fun to know you've seen a band live.

I've decided that i'm going to go see Mustard Plug... Catch 22 and Big D are awesome live but i've seen them several times before and will probably get the opportunity to see them again later on (cause they seem to come through my area a lot)... Of course if my family decides not to go to Chicago i'll be stuck with Catch 22 and Big D... Rats...

Got some ACE gigs coming up, I would be seeing The Scrub on Thursday but I'm going to see Antimaniax instead....Then Xmas ska explosion in a couple weeks: Toasters/The Big/Goldmasters All-Stars/The Scrub/Chief Libido/Big Hand....Then Horrorpops back home....Then Adequate 7 and Captain Everything!...Then Pama International/Skylar/Kenisia....Then my mate from Bristol said there was a Punk Rock Stars In Their Eyes just before Xmas, with Captain Everything as The Beatles and Howards Alias as Weezer (wtf how did they get the Alias?!) among others....& my mate was mentioning the other night he's putting a sexy ska gig on just after the new year, with The Lock Up among others...Oh and Bedouin Soundclash in the new year. Yay :)
