Last night I saw:
Scout Niblett Enon The Black Heart Procession so I've been listening to Scout Niblett - "I Am" LP and Guided By Voices - "Bee Thousand" American Music Club - "Love Songs For Patriots" |
Sadaharu. Good dance-punk.
Ummm, I've been Elliott Smithing completely lately. I finally bought 'Elliott Smith' and 'Roman Candle'. I also got the newer Mint Chicks EP, which is very very good.
Fack, me too man. I can't stop listening to Elliott. I now have From A Basement..., Either/Or, Figure 8, XO and his S/T. I'm only missing Roman Candle. |
Surprisingly I've been actually listening to the Pixies, and I actually, get this... like them!
I've never been very big on them, but I got Doolittle and it's a really good disc. |
I've been listening to just about everything I own this week. I'm listening to the Firey Furnaces now.
|
A few songs I have been geeking out to for various reasons:
Poison Oak - Bright Eyes....(cant get enough of the ending) Matchstick Men and Matchstick Cats and Dogs - (circa 1978..Brian and Michael...its about a painter named Lowry who became famous posthumously for painting simple characters) Thats all I want to say because I'm new and I feel wierd. |
Only a few more hours before Crimes
/rubs hands |
Crimes
Anybody know why The Blood Brothers picked such crappy cover art for this release? BPIB's was beautiful and perfect for the album... Crimes is just ugly. |
Fack, me too man. I can't stop listening to Elliott. I now have From A Basement..., Either/Or, Figure 8, XO and his S/T.
I'm only missing Roman Candle.
Roman Candle is cooler then the self titled one.. in my opinion of course :amaze: |
I'm discovering Kasabian and I bought Crimes.
First impressions: I haven't fully grasped the whole album yet but it seems more catered to alt/indie peeps than punks/hXc kids. I'm not that familiar to BB's older sound, but they've gotten a lot more accessible and "poppier", than say, This Adultery Is Ripe, trading some technicality and artsiness from their past works for atmosphere. I think it's a love/hate album for their fans. I'm personally liking it myself. I just notice, the vocals sound like helium overdose. His voice is even higher than before. Kewl. I personally like the cover art:) |
Do you have gmail? I could probably fit all 4 single versions of the song, along with a full mix of them, in one message.
I don't have it :upset: |

Wow man, just wow.
And it's Alternative, not Alternate. |
The "Slint Reunite" thread reminded me how awesome Slint was... I'm now listening to "Spiderland".
|
From a Basement on a Hill comes out here on the 18th and I am counting the hours. I've been listening to Elliott a lot lately and I can't wait. I've also been listening to Damien Rice a bit lately because I'm going to see him tomorrow night. Should be good times all around.

I'm so unbelievably excited for new Queens disc you cannot imagine, I think I'm gonna pooh. I got the low down on everything and I'm hoping for big things... |
^^^ Yeah, I love Queens and I'm really looking forward to it too. I'm really interested to see what they are going to sound like on the new record without Nick. It should be good though.
|
hah, potato. Nice.
I'm digging Sarah Blasko very heavily, she is absolutely brilliant. I saw Damien Rice last night and it was the best gig i've ever seen. He is so crazy and funny and intense and serious and wonderful. |
