TTTSNB 05-05-2008 07:49 AM

Good drummer, but outrageously unergonomic setup. I'm sure it will eventually cause him problems.

DrumIntoTheNight 05-05-2008 07:53 AM

Holy fucking balls, guys.

One of the guys in my flat at uni has been playing online poker, and the guy is bloody good - he normally wins a couple hundred dollars at a time.

He just entered only his 6th tournament ever, spent 11 hours awake from 9pm to 8am, beat 7000 others, and won $163,400.

No.

Fucking.

Way.

Panopticon 05-05-2008 07:54 AM

wow...i want in on that.

Retarded Chipple 05-05-2008 07:57 AM

Same.

Although I've just got myself a piss easy well paid job.

Nothing like $163 though lol.

Panopticon 05-05-2008 07:57 AM

i think you forgot a few numbers.

Retarded Chipple 05-05-2008 08:01 AM

Lol yeah, I meant thousand, not hundred.

oliv_da_skinmasher 05-05-2008 08:04 AM

What you do?

Fuzzy 05-05-2008 08:35 AM

Damn I gotta get in good with a poker player.

Retarded Chipple 05-05-2008 09:03 AM
What you do?
What do I do?

I'm working as a weekend photographer. I go to Horse Trials, sit in a chair next to a jump with an expensive camera and take pictures as the horse goes over the jump.

It's that easy.

oliv_da_skinmasher 05-05-2008 09:05 AM

lol. That is easy. The cam yours like?

Retarded Chipple 05-05-2008 09:11 AM
lol. That is easy. The cam yours like?
Nah, it's the company's camera. It's worth in the region of £1700 and the lens (which is "pretty cheap" according to my boss) is around £175. Takes beasty pictures though.
I would post some of the pictures I've taken but I'm not sure I'd be allowed to.

Last week I took pictures of Zara Phillips.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Zara_phillips_badminton_2008.jpg

Thats not my picture but thats the sorta thing I do.

Yesterday sucked a bit though cos one of the Horses fell and had to be put down :(

oliv_da_skinmasher 05-05-2008 09:14 AM

aww that sucks. But cool about the job man

I wasn't on the course where that happened, I think my boss was and he deleted the pictures straight away.

That's horrible, I can't believe you even said that.
I just got my Federal return and deposited it in the bank moments ago, what the hell is up with a bank trying to hold a Treasury check? Annoying...

trysthedrummer 05-05-2008 11:08 AM

Chipple, is the money good?

Retarded Chipple 05-05-2008 11:16 AM
Chipple, is the money good?
It's good for me cos I've never had a job before and only have to work weekends - leaving me the rest of the week to practice like normal.

I get about £100+ for 2 days "work", cash in hand. I'll start to get paid more as I get more experienced, I've only done about 2 proper weekends so far.

Only downside is the 8am start lol.

But the photos sell for £10 each, £25 for 3. Some people go in there and spend like £50 a time! They're even more expensive if you purchase them online (rather than buying them on site at the event "while-you-wait")

my fed and state returns totaled to $350, and i just got my economy stimulus payment for another $300, so i have money to burn (literally, gas is expensive as hell!)

trysthedrummer 05-05-2008 12:05 PM

100 quid for 2 days work? Cash in hand?! booyah!

That's good then, when do you finish?

Janeway 05-05-2008 12:28 PM

Apparently my parents decided to paint...

This house is only 7 years old, and the only time they painted in the old house was so they could sell it.

Finishes (and starts) at different times depending on when we're needed and when the event starts. This weekend I was actually on site for like 12 hours both days!

The pay is weird. Originally me and my girlfriend (who's working as the on-site printer) were supposed to be on like £7 an hour but it hasn't really worked out like that - at the end of the weekend my boss just picks up a wad of money, hands it to my girlfriend and tells her to do whatever she wants with it (implying she doesn't have to share it with me - but she does anyway lol)
Last weekend we got £80 each, this weekend £110 each. Either way, I'm happy as I barely have to do a thing for 2 days and know loads of student photographers taking degrees who are earning jack sh!t for their photos lmao.
