It's tekky, 0 straight riffin', too many phat beatz, boring as ****, etc. Basically it's the antithesis of quality old-school dm.

It's not "old-school dm" so who cares? And it isn't really 'tekky' (it's pretty much all in 4/4) and there's plenty of 'straight riffing'

I haven't listened to it for a while (for obvious reasons), but I can't seem to recall any good riffs. It's definitely technical, which is almost always a bad thing.

Anyway, I used to think it was all right when I was a kiddie. Why is it so surprising that I hate it? There are plenty of metalheads who don't like it.

Wow, it is very weird to see 1000 Funerals having been reviewed on sputnik. I remember before that album was even available on filesharing networks. I searched for that band weekly for a year or two before it finally made it's way onto DC++/Slsk

5. Elvenefris is overrated, sappy, watered down ****.
6. NSV has always been terrible. Slyptopsy are 100% gay.

8. WoC is terrible. Only a large bundle of sticks would like it.
9. Nectroticism is pretty decent, maybe 6.5/10. Carcass in general are overrated.
12. Admittedly I've only heard a couple of songs off As Night Conquers Day, but they're enough. Autumn Leaves is obviously gay.
13. Into the Grave is only just above average; there is much better old school death out there.
18. And War Master isn't bad but it's not top 20 material. If you think it is you need to listen to more dm.

The other albums are all classics, but I like Blessed more than Altars and Considered Dead more than Erosion of Sanity.

None So Vile is their only album I like and I haven't listened to it for a while now. It's easily the best brutal death metal album ever though.

Cryptopsy rules. Especially None So Vile which Obsequies said sucks.

They have one good album that hardly means they rule. NSV was a fluke.

I don't think it was so much a fluke as it was them building off of Blasphemy Made Flesh and running out of ideas afterwards.
