Tool's music is some of the deepest, most beautiful music I have ever listened to. Danny is by far the greatest drummer I have ever heard. Yeah, you have dozens of drummers who are very technical and have great musicianship, and can play macho-odd time signatures from the back of their hand... but no other drummer I have ever listened to, can write and do so much for the song as does Danny. And do I even have to comment on Manyard James Keenan? Tool is one of the greatest bands of all time. Can't wait for their new album to come out.

TRIPLE EDIT: Got it! Hurray, a new video, that I doubt anybody else has!
Word, the video doesn't play in Firefox for some reason, but it worked fine with IE explorer.

That's mine, I just recently made it, so I don't have any real pictures up yet. That'll change eventually, when I borrow my friends digicamera >_>

Weird.

I added ya. I need to up-load a new pic of me as well, because my hair is a lot longer now.

The only categories I'd post in were the Other Bands and Musician's Hangout section. Believe it or not their are quite a few people on their that are into a lot of great music. My first impression was it would be a bunch of mindless "Megadeth blows!" metallisheep.
Yes, but what I would like to see is a livestream concert.
That video was just a teaser, the whole concert is soon to be torrented.. I'm gonna do my best to get a dvd copy off of the guy who made it..

Kage 08-20-2005 12:44 PM

Be sure to let us know when it gets torrented. That video kicks ass.

denboy 08-20-2005 12:46 PM

I will!.. And that guy has more than one show in the works... He's got 3-4 high quality cams and mics, and gets other dredg fans to help him out.. It's awesome... Hurray for dredg and how they encourage people to tape their shows

Kage 08-20-2005 12:49 PM

Yeah really, that's an awesome thing about the band. It's not often that you come across such good, high-quality videos like this, though. It's really interesting how bootlegging can become a very expansive process.

Artemician 08-20-2005 02:07 PM

Dredg let people tape their shows?

Hm, cool guys. I'd be checking them out right about now if there weren't already several thousand bands on my list of music I want to hear.

denboy 08-20-2005 03:44 PM

Dredg also encourages sending a copy of the show to the band..
Artemician, you could just check out that video, it's a very good song.. One of my favorites actually

Great vid.......my favorite dredg song at the moment is Jamais Vu.

Syncratic 08-20-2005 04:16 PM

Can anybody uplaod 'El Cielo,' I'm interested in hearing some Dredg............

The guy hosting this is a great guy, so I'd appreciate it if you don't throw the link around too much, wouldn't want to use up all his bandwidth

Syncratic 08-20-2005 04:50 PM

Do you download it or just listen?

Kage 08-20-2005 04:51 PM

You can do either.

denboy 08-20-2005 05:02 PM

Just download, but get the tracklist first, and put the tracks in order when listening, it's crucial for getting the full experience.. hehe

BlindWriting 08-20-2005 06:09 PM

I actually just ordered El Cielo, along with DT's Train of Thought.

Syncratic 08-20-2005 06:41 PM

Nope.

I'm home alone in a thunderstorm, not really paying attention to the Steelers game in the background, so I'll soon switch to America's Most Wanted.

+zero+ 08-20-2005 09:41 PM

i swear its spelled dredg without an e.. oh well.. i saw those guys open for deftones.. they were good and i have el cielo.. im listening to sweat right now.. and i learned cold and ugly on bass today.

Futuro 08-20-2005 09:49 PM
i swear its spelled dredg without an e.. oh well.. i saw those guys open for deftones.. they were good and i have el cielo.. im listening to sweat right now.. and i learned cold and ugly on bass today.
oh yeah you are right there is no e at the end, dont really listen to em that much so pardon my ignorance.

Syncratic 08-20-2005 10:00 PM

Ah...late night Tool thread.

NP: Schism

+zero+ 08-20-2005 10:03 PM

the grudge owns all tool songs, when it comes to drums at least.

Syncratic 08-20-2005 10:05 PM

Am I the only one who thinks the tom roll in Part of Me is awesome?

Nah, +zero+. That'd be Ticks and Leeches or Reflection.

ThePatient 08-20-2005 10:09 PM

I haven't been around in a while. So what's up? Any "news"? I use that term loosely.

+zero+ 08-20-2005 10:16 PM

ticks and leeches isnt really that hard. its just fast and repetitive unlike the grudge which has so many parts that its hard to memerize. but its close.. i actually had troubles playing the interlude on eulogy when its just drums and maynard singing "you claimed..dah dah" and i havent really listened to reflection much.

There will be a small bit of information about the new Tool album in Blair's end-of-August newsletter.

ticks and leeches not that hard?
Ticks and leeches...

How bout the segment after the interlude? That's the real StUfF on ticks. That segment and the entire outro after that. Talk about intense and technical at the same time. there's barely room for breath between the second explosion and the end.

The grudge is difficult in its own way, and what can we say about reflection (amazing) but I've gotta disagree with you that ticks isn't that hard. Unless you have some audio to back it up.

You obviously never attempted Ticks and Leeches for drums have you? I love the hip-hop beats in Eulogy. Those are the only reason I'm going to learn that song.
