they were talkin about it a few posts back ^^
Hetfield and Ulrich wrote most of the stuff. Hammett wrote solos. He should stick to solos. St Anger they all collaborated and it got worse |
Exactly my point.
What did Ulrich do exactly? write lyrics? does anybody know?
lars writes the music and lyrics with james |
He also contributes to the arrangement of the songs.
|
Yah Hammet hasnt writen a lot but im pretty sure he was part of writing enter sandman.
|
Kirk penned the Sandman riff, Ulrich changed it for the better.
|
Im assuming lars writes the drum parts and james writes most of the guitar. thats not fact just me assuming.

Drum parts don't usually get credited in the writing. That's why I was asking what Lars did. |
Lars rearranged the original 'Enter Sandman' riff.

kill 'em all:
+Whiplash +Motorbreath -no remorse -jump in the fire Ride the lighting +for whom the bell tolls +fade to black -call of ktulu -escape Master of puppets +master of puppets +battery -the thing that should not be -orion 'justice...' +all black album +wherever i may roam +struggle within -enter sandman (good song but overplayed) -nothing else matters (also overplayed) Load +King nothing +hero of the day -mama said -cure Re-load +memory remains +fuel -to many to think of |
I have some article on Hammett, and the more well known riffs that he wrote were the Seek and Destroy intro, and part of Enter Sandman. He wrote a few others, but those were the ones he mentioned in the article.
123 to everyone who said he needs to stick to solos. |
He needs to stick to solos.
|
I dunno if this has already been answered (like hell im lookin thru 502 pgs wurth of replies), but does anyone know what their next album is going to be called?

i hope it's not sperm. everything black and previous ruled |
gocaps is right. i like the RTL cover the most. loads cover was just plain weird. have you ever seen the music video for until it sleeps? its weirder than the one video.
|
IMO almost all the intros on st. anger were hella good, but then the rest of the song wasnt good.and i didnt like lars' rimshots,it ruined the whole album.plus the whoreness of the songs added to the bad rimshots.

yea when i was watching SKOM i realized the guitarwork was actually fairly good. the solo work sucked, well, there weren't any solos. and the drumming was ok |
I listened to St. Anger a few times and kind of gave up on it. Same with Load and Reload.
Metallica made great albums up to the black album, but imo, there is other things I would much rather listen to. Load and Reload were good CD's, just not my taste. I find that I have a hard time getting into mediocre CD's because there is so much other stuff I could be listening to. |

My point exactly. I'd much rather listen to something else. Besides, with all the music I got from the AIM thread, I don't have time to listen to all of it that I want anyway. |

I haven't been in it, but there are plenty of other more recent and/or classic rock bands i'd rather listen to than load thru st anger. but most likely i'll listen to MOP or RTL |
load has two good songs and reload has one good song. st. anger has like three good songs, but everything pre-black you can listen thru the whole album.

eh, for the most part. there's probably 4 or 5 songs black and previous i don't like |
