2) yes petrucci is currently the fastest guitarist, no doubt. but don't you think petrucci had some influences
3) hetfield's solos are fairly weak compared to hammett's. hammett is a lead guitarist, not a rhythm

I think almost everyone does. I'm not a heavy Metallica listener, just casual, but I used to listen non-stop. That song just never stuck out for me. I was having trouble thinking of a minus, and that was the first thing that came to mind.

It does get pretty old, but I really think it's awesome. I first liked Metallica for the lighter stuff like Fade to Black but then when i grew onto the heavier stuff I liked Disposable Heros

I definitly over-listened to that album back when I was a HUGE fan. I started out with Ride the Lightning, and then bought the rest of their CD's up to the Black Album in one go. I used to listen to the whole MoP CD on the way to school, so I've definitly given that song a fair chance. I guess I'm either just sick of it, or over it.

Yeah, I don't mind the Black Album, but I am definitly sick of Enter Sandman. I just don't listen to that CD as much because I have lots of stuff I don't listen to nearly often enough that I would rather listen to.

Haha, I love part time Metallica fans aswell. I got neg repped the other day for writing "Hammett? what good riffs has he wrote?" in the 'Sickest riffs' Thread. They replied back with "More than you'll ever write, slut - NEG REP".

when you look at most of the writing credits on the albums it says that hetfield and ulrich wrote most of them like on cunnig stunts dvd s&m etc. but cliff co-wrote alot of the early stuff so i guess kirk just kicked back and threw in a solo every now and then

He's not a writer. Anytime they include Hammett into the writing process the albums get worse. He should really stick to solos.

I dunno about that. They gave Dave enough chance to co-write songs with them. Jason they probably wouldn't have give much oppertunity to write after the death of Cliff.
