Hey, at least you have word up. I'm gonna go get a cup of tea, and then open up word. Anything to put off starting English.

That's always the hardest part for me, it seems. So by my standards you're doing quite well.

What's the essay on?

The dramatic qualities of Act 1 Scene 5 of Romeo and Juliet and it's importance to the play as a whole.

Not difficult but I just can't be bothered.

it's a bit more...well, technical i guess, than Hellfire Club. not all as fast-paced, but it's addictive.

If you could send some choice songs from Rocket Ride my way via email, I'd be much obliged. I won't be able to buy it until like March.

shakespeare's fine, when you don't have to study it. then you get sick of whichever play it is. i used to like Macbeth before we did it in english.

Amen. Yea yea, good playwright, so forth. I can't read olde English very well, so it's basically worthless to me.

ok, i'll do it later this week if that's ok? i'll need to listen to it a couple of times more to get the feel of it, and get some favourite songs.

Steerpike 01-29-2006 11:02 AM

Shakespeare's not as bad as some other authors, though. You can enjoy the live productions much better than the actual written plays, of course.

I once jokingly said in English, "Shakespeare was gay and wrote poorly scripted plays".

I got a detention, the reason: Dis-respecting the herritage of our country.

I once said the same thing and I got an A on my horribly put-together paper.
Ahh, non-conformist professors rock.

True, I think he was magnificent, the Tradgedies are so much better than the other things though, humour dates, life does not.

Yeah that's true, the teacher I had at the time also gave a detention to my friend for ripping the Hobbit, for the exact same reason..:-\!

Man, I've had a tough few days.

Apparently my friends here at campus are still having a hard time interacting with my girlfriend, and still regard her as this "other force" that is usurping my time from theirs, and who is not regarded as a true friend or person beyond her role as my girlfriend, and I'm just sick of everything. It's a case of two completely mistaken impressions--they think my gf is acting like she's "entitled" to hang out with them just because I'm her boyfriend (she'll, for instance, get a little upset if she's not invited to things where everybody else she considers herself friends with is), which is a totally retarded thing for them to think, and Becca thinks they are all just being exclusive and mean on purpose. The fact is, both are uncomfortable around each other because of past difficulties in getting her integrated with my friends (who I met before I started dating her) and both parties pick up on it and reinforce their already-negative impressions. This is complicated by the fact that my gf doesn't really have any close friends except for me and one other girl, and she wants that friendship desperately with the friends I've got and is consistently upset by this. She's reluctant to confront them about it because she's afraid of finding that they don't actually like her, and they don't want to confront her because it might totally "break her" was the words they used. I've tried to be the sort of arbiter here, but I just discovered yesterday, after much effort and little conclusion, that this strategy is an utter failure. They need to talk to each other about it, but I have no idea when they will, and until then I'm caught up in everybody just being stupid and retarded and not wanting to talk to one another. It puts me in a hell of a spot.

There's much more to this, but it's too exhausting to go into right now. I just have this sinking weight on my shoulders, it feels like. I hate this. :(

Lord Abortion 01-29-2006 12:06 PM

I'm sorry to hear that, man, I'm glad Martha was my friend before we started going out, she knows all my friends and likes them.
It's good.

Shattered_Future 01-29-2006 12:11 PM

My ex girlfriend went out with my best friend before she went out with me...needless to say, they ended their relationship a bit rough.

And since I lived 30 minutes away, I had to choose who to see whenever I got the chance to go over there. It was a bit screwed up in situations.

You just have to force them to talk it out. Not much else you can do.

Hmm..It sounds like what happened with me and my friends once.

You kind of either have to tell your friends, that because you care so much about your girlfriend at the moment, you'll have to see them less, although it won't be forever.

If on the other hand, you already have a great relationship with your girlfriend, you could tell her that you're gonna start going out with your friends more, and encourage her to do so with her's.

It's a very uncomfortable and dificult position to be in I know..But you'll wrestle your way out of it.

So do I.

Has anyone read his play "Much Ado About Nothing"? Im going to start it for english call and I want to know if it truly is about nothing. If so, Im in for a very boring and confusing read.

Yeah, I studied it, watched it on stage and on film and did a coursework on it. It also comes up in my english exams. I find it really boring, and not because I don't understand it-we've been through it so much that I do now, but it's still horribly dull.

If the file contains spyware and/pr viruses then yes. I dont think the site(s) itself would give you any viruses or spyware.
