The Trooper is good.

The vocals have to grow on you...focus more on the music and you notice it less.

NP: In Flames - Man made god
Aces High is majorly overrated (in my opinion that is).
All Iron Maiden is overated

except for "Afraid to Shoot Strangers", which is underated

And "Back In The Village". I love that song, yet not many people have heard it.

By the way, Metal Church rules.

jpj 01-17-2005 06:53 PM

Is Arsis Death or Black metal? I checked them out when 88 Fingers (I think it was him) started raving about them.

Like me, and yes Metal Church does rule :thumb:
Is Arsis Black or Death metal??
I think you could argue for both, but I'd say more Black Metal than Death

I think they're melodic death.

Per Ardua Ad Astra 01-17-2005 06:57 PM

Arsis is melodic death metal but more brutal than say old In Flames.

jpj 01-17-2005 06:58 PM

Ok, I was just curious.

Hey

I have a debate tommorow. I have to explain why using pre-embryos for stem cell research is ethically wrong. It should be pretty easy, because the idea pretty much sells itself.

Johnny B. Good 01-17-2005 08:28 PM

Are you on debate team? or is this for a class?

I take my debate final tomorrow, I wish I could remember some of the points the person who did a stem-cell presentation had, but it's been awhile :(
Are you on debate team? or is this for a class?
For a class, biology to be precise.

I have to take up 10 minutes, yet the points I'm trying to make don't need much in-depth explanation. I hope my teacher is feeling lenient tommorow. :(

Ok, ok...I need more recommendations for stuff, evolving out of CoB, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, etc...

Help?

Badmoon 01-17-2005 09:09 PM
You're welcome. People getting into Iron Maiden can only be a good thing.

NP Brian Seltzer Orchestra - Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Awesome song.

CoB-->Norther, Kalmah
In Flames-->Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, At the Gates, Arsis(though the vocals are more of a black metal style)
Dimmu Borgir-->Anorexia Nervosa, Emperor, Limbonic Art, Old Man's Child, Immortal

:thumb:. Nice picks.

ArcLite 01-18-2005 01:36 AM

Anyone here tonight? Bartender? Bobo? Riva? Looking for the late-nighters (late night here anyway).

BoboTheRagingHobo 01-18-2005 01:46 AM

Eh', I am here, but my internet keeps dying on me for no apparent reason.

ArcLite 01-18-2005 01:48 AM

Call your provider and bitch 'em out. Sucks though. How was the weekend?

Riva 01-18-2005 01:51 AM

I am here, steadily working away at some FAs and some reviews. It's very tiring work. :)

BoboTheRagingHobo 01-18-2005 01:56 AM

I had a great weekend.

Went to a friends lan party for his birthday, played games all night and such. And today went out to lunch with 7 friends of mine for chinese food and hung out the rest of the day. This was a good weekend for me, something thats rare for me heh.

How about your's?

Riva 01-18-2005 01:58 AM

My weekend was two days ago. :)

And it was pretty average.

ArcLite 01-18-2005 02:03 AM

Wasn't too bad. Went up to Virginia to hang out with some friends I hadn't seen in a while. Nice to get away from here for a few days anyway. What games were you playing at the LAN? And Riva, what are FA's? I stopped speaking school jargon long ago.

BoboTheRagingHobo 01-18-2005 02:06 AM

We were playing Counter-Strike and the old Unreal Tournament ( the best one of them all ).

ArcLite 01-18-2005 02:08 AM

Good 'ol CS. Played quite a bit earlier tonight, CS:Source actually. I never tire of it. You ever play online? Haha just saw your reply in the HIM thread, makes me laugh out loud every time.

Riva 01-18-2005 02:17 AM

FA = Featured Artist, for the good folk like you on the forums. :)

ArcLite 01-18-2005 02:19 AM

Oh, my apologies, not school related at all. May I ask who this one is on or is it forbidden until release?

Riva 01-18-2005 02:20 AM

All four are under tightly guarded secrecy. Only three on the forums know which bands I am doing. :)

BoboTheRagingHobo 01-18-2005 02:20 AM

I am part of a clan on CS, so ya I play CS online. :p
