My favorite song off that was the Mercyful Fate medley. Very awesome.

Deth 03-17-2005 10:23 AM

Rattlehead 03-17-2005 10:39 AM

jus did some quick research- in tuesday's gone, (metallica version) there were Additional personnel: Jerry Cantrell, Les Claypool, Pepper Keenan, Sean Kinney, Jim Martin, John Popper, Gary Rossington.

Six Foot Revolver 03-17-2005 10:40 AM

Les Claypool is involved in everything though isn't he

btoto 03-17-2005 10:40 AM

Everyone's been talking about good songs from Load/Reload era on the other page.....too late but anyway. My favs are:

1. Unforgiven II
2. Hero Of The Day
3. 2x4
4. Mama Said
5. Wasting My Hate
6. Until It Sleeps
7. Fuel
8. King Nothing
9. Ain't My Bltch
10. The Outlaw Thorn

Songs I hate from that era:

1. The Memory Remains
2. Ronnie

I was thinkin about my favorite Metallica breakdown or stomp riff and i havent really found any clear winner...Im leaning towards Damage Inc. (the part right before the solo) or maybe Dyers Eve

any of you got one?

metal guitar III 03-17-2005 11:27 AM

Master, master, wheres the dreams that I've been after?

I think my favorite is No Remorse, after the "war without end" part, but before the chorus

wrongnote85 03-17-2005 11:44 AM

through the never. that breakdown riff is awesome IMO

Deth 03-17-2005 12:29 PM

Rattlehead 03-17-2005 02:00 PM

my band r doin nout else matters @ tha mo so can any of u tell me: who dos the solo? james or kirk?

PepsiMetal 03-17-2005 02:04 PM
my band r doin nout else matters @ tha mo so can any of u tell me: who dos the solo? james or kirk?
I can't be bother to check but I know james plays the last short solo. Kirk play riffs and stuff at the beginning, then james joins and they both play same thing I think.

Joe 03-17-2005 02:11 PM

James does all of it recording. Live kirk does both solos and some other stuff. just work it out with your other guitarist, you don't have to pick whose kirk and whose james

Leper 03-17-2005 02:11 PM

Just givin you a heads-up natman..make an effort to spell properly or you'll get flamed beyond belief.

Joe 03-17-2005 02:40 PM

yea probably. and your band is singular, so "my band is doing nothing else matters at the [mo??? is that moment?] so can any of you tell me who does the solo? james or kirk?

the person who always does the solos

KIRK!

Six Foot Revolver 03-17-2005 02:47 PM

he doesn't do all the solos foo'

fenderbender89 03-17-2005 02:53 PM

i don't know im pretty sure its kirk but mabye not.
for the first solo its played w/ james and kirk so i don't know.
but the last solo it is a kirk style solo so kirk does play the last solo. :)

i don't care its your cover band play whatever is fine with you.

p.s. kirk does the intro :thumb:

James wrote (and plays) NEM, melodic in MOP, second in To Live Is To Die (not confirmed but sounds to me like him), middle solo in Orion (or maybe the first), whole Whiskey In The Jar and some licks on Load.

 how can James write whiskey in the jar when it's a cover?
 how can James write whiskey in the jar when it's a cover?
   i was wondering when someone would point that out. also, whats the garage inc. version of sabbra cadabra like?

JACKROXYOU 03-17-2005 04:01 PM

It is very good but not as good as the original IMO

btoto 03-17-2005 04:17 PM
 how can James write whiskey in the jar when it's a cover?
I know it's a cover Mr. Einstein. I didn't remember about James playing Whiskey too, so that's why it was "James *wrote* NEM, MOP ..blah".
Whiskey came up to my mind when I was finishing the sentence so I didn't take notice of the begining.

 Never teach me anything Metallica !
