I can't believe that we had the bombings in London. I have friends down there so it seems a lot more "real" than any other terrorist attacks I've seen before.

Butler, were you at Sum 41 last night? I thought I saw you, but I'm not 100% sure.
Nope, :upset: Someone must be mimicking how i look.

Kif 07-07-2005 01:51 PM

Haha, shows what 1 night away from MX can do. 24 pages on from the last time I was here

Funeral For A Friend were awesome. Well, first things first, the support bands. Gratitude played some good songs, but kept going on and on about Bush and jumping on the political bandwagon, and I was just thinking "Why are you talking about this, I don't care about this?". Anyway, the scenesters were lapping it up like a Victory Records band (Booyah!).

A Static Lullaby were great as well, they played a lot more harder songs as well which was fun. Got into a few fight pits which I'm kinda new at, but it was fun. Also, there was this kid in a Hawthorne Heights shirt just pushing everyone and trying to start one off, and no one was having any of it. It was hilarious.

Bullet For My Valentine played for about 30 seconds until the security barrier fell down and they had to stop the show. Everyone was booing, I was standing there not giving a crap because they are overated and crap anyway. Anyway, they played for like 3 songs once it was back up, and said they would do a set in the Basement after FFAF.

Funeral were so awesome though. They came out to "Rookie Of The Year" I think, I can't remember now. Anyway, they were amazing, and played a really good set. Also, some kid got stabbed with a syringe and Funeral made a rant about violence at shows. I hate it when people do that at shows, it's so inappropriate. Although I know it won't be stopped, I'd hate my night to be ruined by something like that. They ended with "History" and "Escape Artists Never Die", although they didn't play "All The Rage" or "Monsters", my 2 favourite songs off the new record! Disappointing, but meh.

Afterwards, we met Darren and he was great. He was taking pics and signing stuff, and ended up talking about Taste Of Chaos and some other stuff. We didn't get a chance to see any other members because we had to go :(

Oh, and today I saw War Of The Worlds, and I have to say I am gobsmacked. I didn't expect much from it to be honest, but I thought it was really entertaining. A lot of high action, and it was quite realistic in the acting efforts of everyone. The only minor gripes I had were that it was quite repetitive (Family run from machines, get safe, machines catch up, repeat) and the ending was just horrible. Machines and aliens living under our Earth for a million years, and they didn't think that they couldn't breathe in our atmosphere? And where the fuck did the kid come from? He just magically re-appeared at the end!

Oh, if you haven't seen it, don't read that last sentence. It's a minor spoiler. Thank you :)

Ganondorf 07-07-2005 01:54 PM

I'm seeing it on Saturday

FOB song titles are ok, but they're a bit annoying and long.

The Locust and Swallowing Shit > Fall Out Boy

Kif 07-07-2005 02:39 PM

I saw the trailer for The Dukes Of Hazard, and I gotta say it looks quite entertaining. The only other half-decent film trailer I saw earlier was King Kong, and Jack Black ruins that for me. I was so expecting him to just pull out an air guitar solo in every scene
