Hey dudes. School's over. Listening to Aenema.

Arucard 01-31-2005 02:20 PM

AHHH!

Has anyone else noticed that alot of Death Metal drumming is very uneven. I was listening to Arsis and In Flames today, and they dont seem to be able to hit their crashes in the same place each time.

Arucard 01-31-2005 02:23 PM

Man, that thread, join this is ****ing gay.

I did a Bobo.

on Channel 5 8pm: Chris Barrie's Massive Engine, the comedy actor explores the development of diggers.
Channel 5 8:30pm: Chris Barrie's Massive Engines, he explores the development of airships in the 20th century.

What a strange place for him to appear.

Eitri Is Berserk 01-31-2005 02:40 PM

Afternoon all. How are you?

I'm okay, though tired. Yourself?

^Dream~Theater^ 01-31-2005 02:41 PM

Doing fine, How is everyone else?

Arucard 01-31-2005 02:42 PM

Im writing a letter of complaint to Kerrang.
Ill post it once im done.

Eitri Is Berserk 01-31-2005 02:44 PM

I'm pretty good. Two hour delay today. We havn't had a full week of school in ages, all kinds of delays and snowdays. Pretty cool.

jpj 01-31-2005 02:44 PM

This week could be my first full week of school since the week after Thanksgiving.

I think it's new. It hasn't been on terrestrial TV before, I don't know about Sky/Cable.

Bartender 01-31-2005 02:47 PM

Well if I could be bothered to watch it, I would. I can't though. Too tired (trying to get to sleep again last night didn't go too well).

Arucard 01-31-2005 02:55 PM

Im just annoyed that a magazine that can say 'Life Is Loud' put such crap bands on their covers.

Bartender 01-31-2005 03:09 PM

Oh. Thought you meant complaining about something specific.

LordDargon 01-31-2005 03:12 PM

[QUOTE=Ripper22]I understand your status. And otherwise, I would blow up, but since I realize you're only doing it to see how much controversy you can stir up in the first place, I won't indulge you.

Not just that reason, I find WWII history interesting as do most nerds.

Superpeer: You could change it? Just delete it all. Thanks

Nope, just about their total hypocrisy, and lack of real musical knowledge.

Not being able to sleep sucks. Especially when there isn't anything to keep you entertained.

Joe: just in case you didn't know, Angra are supporting Dragonforce on the 21st of Feb.

The greatest song ever recorded according to one of the few people whose opinion I count as close to equal to my own. So here's an mp3 download of it for any of you who haven't heard it.

Dargon, it's probably best if you just refrain from commenting, as it's not metal.

Eitri Is Berserk 01-31-2005 03:48 PM

I'll download it. What is the song/artist?

EDIT: Nevermind, saw it when I started download. 13% done, ****in' dial up..

I think I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one.

Too bad he signed off, eh? Brian is never on anymore, first time I've seen him post in weeks.

Eitri Is Berserk 01-31-2005 04:10 PM

I dunno about this being the best song ever written, but I like it.

Arucard 01-31-2005 04:11 PM

My letter is up, seems to have gone down well.

Kingofdudes 01-31-2005 04:11 PM

Brian went to talk with a recruiter(sp?).

Hey, we're not nerds!

Anyway, what aspect of WWII do you find most interesting? I'm partial to the European theaters myself, the Nazis will always make the most effective villians in any story you could possibly tell. There's just no one worse.

I also happen to love WWII-oriented first-person shooters. Call of Duty is my latest conquest, although the **** multiplayer has a habit of instantly "unexpectedly quitting" in the boot-up stages of the program. Stupid Mac version.

The efficiency that the Nazi war machine operated with. I mean, take out the genocide stuff and those guys would be awesome. They don't fu.ck around. Every little last detail was planned out before the war even started... but I better not get going.

Also, war propaganda is cool/funny/scary

I always thought that if you take out the genocide and the evilness, the general public would also come to realize that the Germans had by far the coolest uniforms of any country with the possible exception of post-1943 USSR during the war. There's a reason movies love that uniform. It evokes all the evil efficiency and grandeur the Nazis had.

Just to clarify to those of us that will no doubt be viewing this conversation with mild apprehension, I assure you Dargon and I (well at least me) are definitely not Nazis.

In addition, there's a thread in Politics about how genocides after the Holocaust are not being paid attention to, and I wrote a really thoughtful post that no one responded to. :( I would appreciate a look. It's title is "1945: we said never again, but again keeps coming." something like that.

LordDargon 01-31-2005 04:46 PM

I'll look at it, but I'm afraid of the Politics forum :(

EDIT: I don't know where to look :( But while I was on your profile, I noticed you were born in 1986. Tr00ness.

I didn't say I thought it was the greatest song ever recorded :)

I just think everyone should hear it.

LordDargon 01-31-2005 04:55 PM

Eh... what song&genre is it anyway? Of course, it not being metal automatically bars me from listening. I'm just curious.
