Anyone been on YouTube today?
Most epic Rick Roll in the history of the internet. |
Shame i didn't wake up until after midday. April 1st is always entertaining.
Played my friend's pearl export today. Omg sex wtf is the pit?
I doubt it was that good. It's only poplar. |
i'm seeing metallica...
I know what i've heard.
Poplar is decent enough for a low end kit, but its nothing special. Anyone who tries to beleive otherwise is misguided. The new visions however, look impressive. |

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=5842021 tell me that doesnt sound good. |
You could make the cheapest drums possible sound good with enough EQing. That is obviously EQ'd.
Bad example. |
lol...
The set sounds good. The set is poplar. I would record a professional record on that kit. I don't see what the problem is. I've played on exports personally and they sound great if they have good heads and good tuning. Dare i say, it was the player that was making it sound bad in your case? |
For someone trying to call me an idiot, you're not so bright really are you?
Theres a good reason poplar isnt used much in professional kits. Its a soft, mediocre sounding wood. Sure you can EQ it to sound good, but who the hell wants a kit that only sounds good when mic'd? |

Sup guys
|
I can't say i thought much of the sound in the audio either.

Which is a lot of people who play larger sized venues like some bars. I'm not arguing that the export is a professional kit, im arguing that its not terrible. |

god forbid a studio drummer  |

While poplar sounds OK, there is a hollowness to the sound. The shell is really secondary to fundamental attack sound of any soft wood kit. For 99.9% of the world there is no audio difference between a $750.00 kit and a 7500.00 kit. It is only us geeks who can hear it. What a kit looks like is what the 99.9% of the peeps can relate to. |

Datsuzoku your entire argument is invalid.
"exports sound good." "No. I don't think they sound good, therefore, no one should." "I also think they sound good." "You're an idiot, they don't sound good because my perception is superior." |
in the overall factors that makes up the true perceived sound of the drum, the shell material (specifically from wood to wood) makes up maybe 3-4 percent? There's a whole list of things more significant to your drum's sound than its shell material.

if you really don't believe me, then check out this thread.
http://www.drumshed.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20887 the drum is made out of one of those cardboard reinforcement tubes for concrete posts, with a wooden veneer around the outside. the last post on the page should have an audio attachment (you might need to be a member to hear it) |
How do chickens run?
Is there a specific word for the way they do it? Like "waddle" or something? |
That is a very good question.
Why can't you say "run"? |
Indeed.
Am tryin to find me all the old silent hill games |
Right guys am off for my audition. See you guys later
