They are.

Valhall 12-24-2007 06:15 PM

Didn't you guys get the memo? If a band uses more than one breakdown on an album, they must be crap.

If you had to pick one DM song that had the BEST drumming you ever heard, what would it be?

Eliminator 12-24-2007 10:31 PM

That's hard.

RouteOne 12-24-2007 10:31 PM

These are the times that try men's souls, eliminator.

Eliminator 12-24-2007 10:32 PM

So it appears Cryptopsy have completed their line-up.

Breakdowns were cool, and then generic metalcore happened. :(

purplefeet 12-26-2007 03:12 PM

I guess it doesn't really matter these days if Cryptopsy has gotten a a new vocalist.

Their newer stuff is mediocre and in terms of live enjoyment, most fans (I'm assuming) have already seen them a bunch since they tour pretty frequently anyway. Not to say that Cryptopsy are done, but I just don't think it matters much.

masscows 12-26-2007 03:14 PM

Their new vocalist sucks horribly though. He's worse than DiSalvo by sooo much.

Tyler 12-26-2007 03:16 PM

The new album will suck unless someone tells Flo he isn't as good as he thinks he is. As long as he has that insanely huge ego we're not going to hear much but the drums anyways.

purplefeet 12-26-2007 03:17 PM

Oh well, who cares. Let him drum. They surely have passed their prime some time ago so with or without Flo, I wouldn't be expecting a masterpiece.

Valhall 12-26-2007 03:46 PM
Breakdowns were cool, and then generic metalcore happened. :(
Well, true.

i am the robots 12-26-2007 03:55 PM

Regardless, when used properly, breakdowns are alright.

But yeah, generic metalcore is the enemy.

Valhall 12-26-2007 04:11 PM

Though everyone here hates them, and for the most part, they overuse breakdown, the main breakdown in "Hester Pyrnee" from ABRB is an example of an awesome breakdown.

ASP has some pretty tight breakdowns too.
