Try listening to the album somtime, it sounds nothing like Korn.

You might sigh all you want, but as much as I despise Metallica, it would be more prudent for you to say "it's not my cup of tea" as opposed to saying they suck. That's like a 3 year old temper tantrum. If so many other people still dig it, and they still sell millions of records, clearly, they don't suck. You just don't dig em anymore.

The same applies to every band out there you don't like. You don't like em. But your authority to say such things in a blanket manner is not higher than anyone else. Yeh that was a nice speech, metallica are my fav band, my opinion is just thatthe music out today known as 'nu-metal' has absolutly no originality to it, all the riffs and licks are taken, or stolen from previous successful bands. Yeh you might dig back at me for this, but i just dont believe that todays music is unique at all...

i got the 'justice' guitar book a couple of weeks ago, for a sequencing thing that im doing for music tech, harvester of sorrow sounds pretty good played with violins and other orchestral instruments (that is until it gets to the parts with heavy distortion).

just thought i would share that with everyone

Apocalyptica manage the whole thing pretty well, I thought.

yeah the album of metallica covers they did was brilliant

cant really see why they did 'sad but true' it doesnt have the brilliant sound that the others do...then again on one of their other cds the had a cover of fight 'fire with fire' so...


also apocalyptica had proper instruments and are competant musicians i was doing it on cubasis vst (think thats it), and the midi sounds arent brilliant on it

dude who saw the metallica movie and does anyone own it yet tell me if its good or not ive seen the one in theater but is it better on dvd with the extras or what?

i havnt seen it but i really want it, maybe i'll buy it from amazon tonight

I dont think James can ever sing like he did in the 80's because his voice has became deeper than then. You can start to hear the change in And Justice For ALL.. :) Its Sad but True......

i think he sounded best during the 'justice' period, but now he could never sing something like hit the lights the way he used to, which is quite sad really

IMO, James's best vocal period was during the Justice and Black album period...it started to get deeper after that. S&M is prolly the peak of him being able to hold the notes etc..like on St. Anger, some places seem like his voice is about to break..on S&M, it didn't really sound like that.
