I have a record store in my area called Budget that has awseom metal cd's, but the owner of the store is like 40 and he acts like hes 14 so I tend to not go there to often anymore.
You should man, Meshuggah's good for the soul.

Used, yes, but they don't accept stuff there unless it's in really good condition, the Animosity CD had one little smudge on it, that's it :).
Thats like the place where I buy most of my stuff. I once bought 20 cds for $40. They dont have what I am looking for all they time, so I dont mind going to Best Buy and spending the extra money if I need to.

Dr. Jake Destructo 01-28-2006 09:40 PM

I hate small town living. No non-chain record stores. :( Best Buy is all I've got. Then there's Amazon which requires my mom's credit card, and I don't often have that in hand, so yeah, boo that.

Dark Tranquility are awsome. I only have the song lost to apathy and its so sick. Its great to play Halo to.

GenuineImitation 01-28-2006 09:44 PM

There are so many cds I want, but can't get because my parents don't like buying items online unless they have to.

Deth 01-28-2006 10:03 PM

Nowhere around me has a good selection of used CDs. I would love to buy some if I could find them.

Dr. Jake Destructo 01-28-2006 10:03 PM

My problem is paying my mom back for the transaction...I'd probably end up buying too much, and I'd end up broke. :p

Jom 01-28-2006 10:08 PM

What's sad for me is I went to the record shop today, and as I was browsing around, I went, "Uh, what was I supposed to check out, again?"

The answer quickly came to me: nothing. But it's always nice to browse, I suppose.

Nostalgia 01-28-2006 10:10 PM

I have a store in my mall called FYE that has the best cd's I can ever find but it comes at a cost, it's like $20 each Cd.

I have the same store near me. Best Buy sells the same cds for 14 dollars and they have pretty much everything.

gillygan 01-28-2006 10:16 PM

i cant keep spending 20$ every week so ive resorted to downloading music :upset:

if i bought all my music instead of downloaded it

i would of already spent 4000 $

gillygan 01-28-2006 10:18 PM

Exactly. I dont want to spend all of that money.

GenuineImitation 01-28-2006 10:19 PM

The problem is I dont have a job (I may be giving guitar lessons soon) and I waiste all my money. I have no problem spending $60 dollars in one trip, even if I am broke after that.

I go to the store and browse one a week. However I usually return with 3 to 8 albums.

Jawaharal 01-28-2006 10:38 PM

$20 per CD? Thats alot. It ussually costs me around $12-15 at Sam Goody and at my local record shop its anywhere from $1 - $9.

GenuineImitation 01-28-2006 10:41 PM

I just found out I have a virus. So far it has deleted 5 gigs of music and some school work. Its a good thing I own most of the cds it deleted.

Deth 01-28-2006 10:46 PM

That hurts. I would be pissed beyond belief.

GenuineImitation 01-28-2006 10:51 PM

I really am. Its going to be a pain trying to get rid of the virus and then replacing everything.

Jom 01-28-2006 10:51 PM

If I lost my external hard drive to a virus, I would flip the fuck out.

Knock on wood that it doesn't happen, obviously, but man, I hope you recover everything.

What anti-virus are you using to get rid of it? How did you get the virus in the first place?

In Australia it's 25-30 $$ per CD :(

Shattered_Future 01-28-2006 10:51 PM

When my iPod crashed and I lost everything I downloaded, I was depressed for at least 3 weeks...

Now we have a big enough HD to back it all up on.

All my music is on my external hard drive also.

Im going to use Norton because my McCaffe subscription is up as of thursday (great timing). I got the virus either from the Daily Upload, Limewire or pOrn.

Jom 01-28-2006 10:57 PM

It's probably the second one. That's how my brother f'd our home computer when I was at school, downloading pictures of people like Daisy Fuentes in bikinis and stuff and it turns out to be virus-laden.

Unless you go to them thar porn sites, too. They give you nothin' but trouble, from what I understand.

Possibly. I only use Limewire once in a blue moon and I havent been on any porn sites for a few weeks so I dont know how I really got it. Those just seemed like logical reasons. I just hope i get it off my external hard drive before all my music is gone. 15 gigs would be a bitch to reupload.

Nostalgia 01-28-2006 11:01 PM

I would buy an I pod but I would only really listen to it at school, and at my school everything gets stolen.
I got the virus either from the Daily Upload, Limewire or animal photographs.
Dude, you like nude animals to?

If I lost my external to anything I would flip. I lost my last internal to some kind of failure, potentially corrosion or something. I still have to save up a few hundred dollars to try and recover it all.

It was like 2 years of my life :-\
