just checked out the british election results
what are your thoughts on this matter happy
not really sure yet. Surprised at how many people actually went ahead and voted conservative despite the fact they will most probably fuck over this country and make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Seems people really are that stupid to believe their lies and their slimy cunt of a leader. I myself supported the Liberal Democrats (lol bias) as did most of my friends and it was a real surprise they did worse this time round. It just shows though how screwed our election system is though when the Liberal Democrats manage more votes than last time round yet actually go on to lose seats. Hung parliament is definitely better than the Conservatives being in power and hopefully Labour and Lib Dem can form a coalition that is successful. Can't wait to see the shitstorm Murdoch is gonna kick up though. |

how large a percentage of the seats does a party or coalition need to have to win?
|
they just need a majority
|
oh that makes sense. so basically somebody's going to have to make a coalition then right? i just looked at the bbc site and it said that the tories had 291 seats but would need 326 to win, but there are only 29 undecided seats.

yay I got the job

Out of the whole north east of england, which is always a labour strong hold and has a pretty heavy past based on industry and unions and what not, my constituency was the only one that changed to conversative.
One of my good mates was also apart of the staff for the labour mp, so after working 48 hours solidly, he's now out of a job. |
not much haz, at the library currently but im about to drive back to the house since the free parking expires in half an hour and i dont want a ticket, also cuz i need to shower and change haha
and frankie that sucks man. i live in one of the most conservative states in america, although our actual county is consistently liberal. thats shitty for your friend too. were you surprised that your constituency voted conservative, or has it been changing lately? |
It was conservative for a while during the 80's, but pretty much everywhere was, recently it's been quite a safe seat.
Stockton South, which is in my constituency includes a place called Ingleby Barwick, which is europe's biggest private housing estate, and there's loads of rich ****s there, and considering the propensity and the track record of the conservatives looking after their own I should'nt be surprised. I hope to god there is civil unrest and riots like there were in the 80's. |
