Yes, my suggestion:

If you're ever with a lady in your room and you're just making out, nothing else, leave the door unlocked, it will bring so many akward situations.

Me and my ex did that once... my sister walked in on us and then like 10 minutes later my mom did.

I didn't mean to start an argument anyway, and i can see where your coming from. I haven't seen you for a while btw, hows your life? Things going good with your girlfriend?

Japanese philosophy is something not many westerners are able to fully wrap their minds around. Nothing wrong with that, it's just that getting into and understanding such a radically different culture isn't for everybody. Much like certain genres of music at that.
Classical Japanese music bores the wits out of me. My professor tried so hard to get me to dig it but she failed miserably :-\
Traditional Japanese art is very much an acquired taste. Noh theater is really quite beautiful, but so minimalist and subtle that most westerners can't get behind it at all.

Well, I probably pushed it too far.

And yeah you disappeared for a while, but I heard it was because of your band.

We're doing fine, we're coming up on 15 months. There have been a few bad incidents here and there but we're still going strong.

You going to find some excuse to celebrate some anniversary or another? Any excuse to celebrate is a good one in my book.

Haha, nah. We celebrated for one year, and we'll do it for two years, three years, four years, etc (knock on wood) but I don't believe in doing that "oh its been 18 months, let's celebrate that" stuff.

Yeh, i dissapeared because we are going through abit of a promotional push at the minute, trying to get our music around. Its going very well!

Well, good news about your girlfriend, hope its all going well.

Haha, I've brought over so many girls to my house that it's actually been self defeating. My parents think we just talk about fashion and celebrities in my bedroom :upset:

My "Samurai and the Sacred" last year has been so far one of the most enjoyable modules I've had so far. Great lecturer, too.

Amit 01-28-2006 06:06 PM

If anyone's curious, here's a bit more of my minimalist piece I'm composing:

I have to go back and revise some of the layers but I think it's coming along pretty well. Thoughts?

Blood on the Tracks is my favorite.

You'd be better off heading over to the Classic Rock thread to ask that.

Do want folk Dylan or rock Dylan? For folk The Times They Are a'Changin' and Another Side of Bob Dylan are great, and for rock Blood on The Tracks and Highway 61 Revisited. Nashville Skyline is basically a country album, totally different from other Dylan stuff.

Whale and Wasp 01-28-2006 06:15 PM

ok thanks....i like folky stuff so i'll think of getting one of those.

All of them. All 50 or so.

jpj 01-28-2006 06:16 PM

I've seen this 3-CD set that had The Times..., Another Side of Bob Dylan, and I think The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan for like $20. It's a very good deal.
All of them. All 50 or so.
I think that's a little overkill. Everything from '62 to '69 is essential though.

Bartender 01-28-2006 06:19 PM

My favourite so far is The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. My collection is still quite small, though.

Are those used? If not, damn you and your cheap *** store.

I spent a good chunk of the day programming keys for an epic song about the dangers of the manatee. It was thought of at 3 in the morning, don't ask why the hell I'm doing it.

Used, yes, but they don't accept stuff there unless it's in really good condition, the Animosity CD had one little smudge on it, that's it :).
