Well, "My Generation" is the first song I ever learned. I have a recording of me and my friends playing it at this show with my dad on lead vocals, which was so fun, because we used to sing it together all the time. We played a clip of us singing it when I was like three, and then he came out and sang it with us. I just got the recording of our show, so I've been listening to that song over and over again, both our version and the original version. The single mix is definitely the best.
But as for what Who records I usually listen to, my absolute favorites are A Quick One, Who's Next, Tommy, and Quadrophenia.
Who's Next and Tommy are magical. |
Unwound - Repetition
Quite a good album. |
The Slits - Return of the Giant Slits
Earthbeat is a fantastic song. and other random no-wave. |
John Coltrane - Crescent
good stuff. Lonnie's Lament is such a great song. |
Life is a Sexy Sanctuary - Zita Swoon
Just got my hands on it, seems pretty tasty. |
Devendra Banhart - Cripple Crow
Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime [had to get it after I saw Mike Watt play with The Stooges on Friday]. Both of these albums are really long, both of them are 1 hour and 14 minutes. DNOTD is 3 seconds longer than Cripple Crow. :p |

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus
I love these albums too much. So damm good. It's really classy music, but in a way it has that primative, wild feel to it. God bless the demon preacher.
Yeah, that's probably his best release. Still filled with some crap, but overall a good couple of albums.
I love that album. It's definitely my favourite Nick Cave album so far. And I've been diggin' Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan Lagwagon - Let's Talk About Feelings I can feel a lot of Dylan coming on. |
I love you Little Man.

I'm listening to:
The Ordinary boys; good songs are: Boys Will Be Boys, Week In Week Out, Maybe someday and Talk Talk Talk to name but a few. The Arctic Monkeys (like every1 else). Their album is very good, also unreleased songs: Knock and Run and Settle For A Draw. A brand new band I like are The Sunshine Underground, their song Commercial Breakdown is probably my favourite new song at the moment. O yeah and masses of older stuff like: Lift - Radiohead, She sells Sanctuary - The Cult and Nothing Ever Lasts Forever - Echo and the bunnymen. |
You're a sexy man Tangy.
P.S. I'm really really loving The Drones. They're tops. |

Been listening to random shit on an iTunes shared network filled with interesting music.
Hey Mercedes US Maple Showbread M. Ward This person's got a lot of Pavement and Bob Dylan on here, so the shuffle falls on them pretty often. All in all it's pretty good stuff I suppose. EDIT: hahaha, just as I was typing that, the next song came on and it was Smells Like Teen Spirit! Random to the core :( |
Clue To Kalo - One Way It's Every Way
How did I not know about this guy earlier. He's from my city. Similar to The Books. It's electronic indie pop that doesn't sound electronic. |
I've been listening to a bunch of Split Enz. Mainly True Colours, because they've reformed with the line-up from that album and they're touring and I'm gonna see 'em and holy crap that's exciting.

Nebraska is a good album, so dark.
Woke up with the Aquabats this morning.
\m/ Aquabats I'm digging the Garden State soundtrack lately. I got it as a gift, it's so good. It's got, like, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Shins, and Nick Drake....all sorts of goodness. |
Sleep - Dopesmoker
My Dying Bride - The Angel and the Dark River Tiamat - Wildhoney Yay, for stoner and doom metal classics. If anyone likes any of those genres I recommend checking out all three of these albums. |
